About: I have loved dogs for many years and I am a dog owner myself. I have a Golden Retriever who is 4 years and 8 months old. I have raised her since she was only 35 days old, so I truly understand the daily care, attention and exercise that dogs need. Through raising my own dog, I have plenty of hands-on experience with walking, running, playing, feeding and understanding different dog behaviours and energy levels. I know how important it is for dogs to get enough exercise, companionship and mental stimulation. I am patient, gentle and responsible, and I always follow the owner’s instructions carefully. Safety is my top priority, and I make sure every dog feels comfortable and happy during our walks or visits. Spending time with dogs brings me a lot of joy, and I would love to help give your dog the care, exercise and attention they deserve while you are busy or away. I currently work part-time, so I have flexible availability for pet care. I am available all day on Sundays and from 5 pm on wards Monday to Saturday, which is perfect for evening walks, playtime and drop-in visits. Your dog’s safety and happiness are my top priorities. I always follow your instructions carefully and keep dogs safely on leash during walks. I pay close attention to their behaviour and surroundings and choose safe, quiet walking routes. I will also send updates and photos so you can feel relaxed knowing your dog is in good hands.

About: I am a full-time dog sitter and walker with 10 years' experience caring for dogs of various sizes, from Rottweilers to pugs. During this time, I have learned that each dog is unique and has its own specific needs. My approach focuses on small group numbers and meeting each dogs needs: health, exercise, food, sleep and enrichment - whether that be a puppy needing hourly toilet breaks, a high-energy dog requiring lots of exercise and mental stimulation, or a senior needing medication. I can also support training. I am trained in canine first aid and dog behaviour and always carry an first aid kit. I am working full-time at the moment as a dog walker/minder. Apart from walks during the day, where I can be away for up to 2 hours, I supervise the dogs. They get plenty of exercise and affection. I follow all instructions the owner provides for me, including walking and minding. I use a form to gather all information about the current routine and follow it.

We were so lucky to find Dearbhaile last minute on Rover before going on holidays, she called to meet us and our dog Darcie and we knew straight away Darcie would be in good hands. Darcie took to her straight away, she called everyday to take her for walks to the beach and sent lovely pictures to us of her enjoying herself in the water. Dearbhaile was great for communicating, really easy to deal with and nothing was a hassle with her. I would highly recommend Dearbhaile, she is extremely capable and an absolute pleasure to deal with. Elaine & Art, Salthill

About: I have had my dog for 14 years, and since I was a child I've walked dogs for friends and family and have looked after family dogs overnight. I also care for a lot of our neighbourhood cats by feeding them and leaving water out when it's warm. I'm currently a student at University of Galway but I live at home, and I'm home quite often so I'd be around to care for the pet most of the day. Even if I wasn't around, there's always someone at home since my mother works from home, and my own dog Harley would be there to keep your pet company. I have a large garden and lot's of indoor space for large animals, I have a very friendly 14 year old female Husky/Retriever mix that would be great company for pets I look after. She's extremely gentle with cats so no bother there either. I walk my dog 1-2 times a day, I would do the same for a dog I look after. My neighbourhood is a great area for dogwalking, there's lots of green spaces and a beach. I live with my family so there would be other trusted adults around too. I would look after a pet in someone else's house but would also be super open to keeping them at my own house too.

About: Hi! I’m Veronica, in my 30s and proud rescue dog human to Thor 🐾 I know first-hand how difficult it can be to trust someone with your dog, because I’ve been in that position too. I understand the stress of leaving your dog with someone new and how important it is to find someone reliable, patient, and genuinely caring. I’ve always been one of those people who, as a child, would stop to say hello to every dog I saw… and honestly, not much has changed... If there’s a dog nearby, chances are I’ll be the one asking if I can say hi :) Animals have always been a big part of my life. Growing up, I always had pets at home, from hamsters and guinea pigs to dogs, and over the years I’ve also gained experience caring for cats. Thor is a rescue dog and has been by my side for the last 10 years. He’s a sensitive soul and has struggled with many things over the years, but through training, patience, love (lots of love!) and, of course, plenty of treats, he has grown in confidence and come such a long way. Living with Thor has taught me that every animal is different, each with their own personality, needs, and boundaries. That’s why, before starting any service, I like to take the time to get to know your best friend and ask plenty of questions during our first meeting! It helps me understand their routine, personality, and needs so I can adapt my care and make them feel as comfortable and safe as possible 🐾 I currently work part time in the mental health field, which means I am Garda vetted. I also offer 1-to-1 dog walks and home visits in Galway City. I don’t mix dogs from different households unless agreed beforehand, so your pet gets my full attention :). I have a car in case of any emergency and I'm PET FIRST AID CERTIFIED. My goal is simple: happy pets, relaxed humans, and peace of mind knowing they’re in safe hands 💙 I currently work part-time, which gives me plenty of flexibility for pet care. I am available most mornings from Monday to Sunday, as well as several afternoons throughout the week. I am Garda Vetted and work with vulnerable individuals, so I understand the importance of trust, responsibility, and reliability. I am in my 30s and have recently completed a Master's degree in Psychology, which has strengthened my communication skills, attention to detail, and professional approach. I am punctual, dependable, and attentive to each pet's individual needs, ensuring they feel safe and comfortable. My dog, Thor, does not get along with other dogs or cats, so I provide care exclusively in the owner’s home. I consider this to be better for them, as staying in their own homes is less disruptive to their routines and allows them to adapt more comfortably and naturally to their usual environment.

About: I grew up leaving with pets especially dogs, My father was a Vet. Got all the experience of taking care of pets from him, I call literally say my whole life is surrounded with animals ( Dogs, cats, pigs, cows, chickens). I'm currently working part time but i can create time to visit and play with pets. I'm available weekends for boarding, play dates and walks, but also available weekdays after 6pm One can also be refreshed by playing with pets after a long day. If the owner has a backyard, the pet can be release in there to be played with and use the space. But if the owner has no backyard space, it's still fine. will then have to take a walk to the closest pack for the pet to have free mobility. Exercise for pets is paramount for their health.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was 10, when my friend went on holidays with her family I cycled 6km to her house to walk and feed her dogs. My family got our Sandy, a labradoodle who is the light of our lives 8 years ago. Training, walking and playing with her are some of my favourite things to do on the weekends I visit home. I work full-time as a civil servant, but my hours are flexible. I am available every evening after 5pm and enjoy long walks in Salthill. My weekends are typically quiet so I am available full-time from Friday evening until Monday morning. I can also work remotely if required, I will just need a bit of notice. I am respectful of other people’s spaces and will adhere to any requests as set out. Each dog will be given fulfilling walks and I can provide transport to and from walking areas if needed.

About: Myself and my partner Abi have been providing services on Rover since Autumn 2023, looking after a variety of dogs in all shapes and sizes - walking, feeding, bathing, cleaning up, nothing is off the table, I'm positive you'll find a trusted pet carer in me. Most of our availability will fall on Friday evenings or the weekend unless discussed in advance, we may also have availability during the week too. An average service when pet sitting in your home would include: full bowl 'fresh' water and a full bowl of pet food on arrival, taking your pet out for their business frequently as desired (varying on individual pet), a shower if required, kitty litter / dog dropping clean if/when required. I'm intuitive and willing to take on specific instructions catered to your pet, I have experience providing oral medication to anxious and allergic dogs on separate occasions.

About: Animals have always been a big part of my life, and I genuinely enjoy spending time with them. About: Hi! My name is Serena, and I’ve loved animals my whole life. I grew up in the countryside on a small farm, surrounded by animals, which has given me plenty of experience with all kinds of critters. I’ve also volunteered in both cat and dog shelters, and caring for animals has always been a true passion of mine. I’ve recently moved away from my countryside home, where my beloved dog Jack and four cats still live, so this opportunity would be a lovely way for me to stay connected with animals and care for them as if they were my own. I love nature and spending time outdoors, and I bring that enthusiasm into every walk and visit. I have around a year of formal dog and cat sitting experience. My responsibilities included walking and feeding pets, providing quality playtime and companionship, caring for multiple dogs at a time, and ensuring each home was left safe and secure throughout the day and overnight. I am currently in my second year of third-level education, so my timetable is busy but flexible, depending on you and your pets' needs. I am more than happy and willing to visit your pets before and after school- even if this means an early start! I have a part-time job 30 minutes away from the city on the weekends, but my hours once again vary and are very flexible. I provide reliable, in-home pet care so your pets can remain relaxed and comfortable in their own familiar environment. I’m very comfortable caring for all types of pets; cats, dogs, and everything in between. I’m confident handling homes with multiple animals or pets with different personalities and needs. I follow each pet’s routine carefully, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any medications or special care instructions. I take the time to ensure pets feel safe, calm, and well-loved while monitoring their health and behaviour. I also keep pet areas clean and treat your home with the utmost respect. You’ll receive regular updates and photos so you can travel with peace of mind knowing your pets are in capable, caring hands.

About: Hi there!

I’m an enthusiastic animal lover with a lifelong passion for pets. 🐶 My journey with animals began with my first dog, a boxer, and continues today with my beloved 15-year-old puggle, Chloe, who I adore to bits. 💕 Over the years, I’ve also cared for bunny rabbits 🐰 and fish 🐟, each bringing joy and unique experiences.
My deep love for animals even led me to do work experience at a veterinary clinic during my teenage years, where I gained valuable hands-on experience. This passion inspired me to become a vegan 🌱, reflecting my commitment to animal welfare. While my friends are captivated by babies, I’m the one who always stops to greet and pet every dog on the promenade!
I’d love to mind your pets while you’re away instead of them going into a kennel! 🐾
My experience as a lifeguard and swim teacher has also instilled in me a strong sense of responsibility and reliability. I preferably seek house sitting and dog walking opportunities within the city. If you’re based outside an 8 km radius, I would kindly request travel costs to be covered.
Your furry friends will be in excellent hands with me! I promise to provide them with all the love, care, and attention they deserve. 🐕❤️ Whether it’s a walk in the park or keeping them company while you’re away, I’m here to ensure they have a great time.
Trust me to give your pets the best care possible.

Best regards,
Jessica I currently work part time from 9am-1pm I am a medical student I am free before and after work I love going on long walks too so I’d love to walk your dog! I have a large fully enclosed garden. I am very flexible and I love walking, minding and playing with dogs!! I can follow any specific instructions you have

About: What sets me apart from other pet sitters is my lifelong experience with animals and the genuine love I have for them. I grew up on a farm, caring for dogs and cats from a young age, and I’ve continued to take care of my own pets and those of friends and landlords over the years. I understand that every pet has its own personality and needs, and I always treat them with patience, respect, and affection. I offer an exclusive House Sitting service for owners who want their homes and pets treated with the utmost respect. I welcome dogs of all shapes and sizes. I am an experienced, calm, and highly responsible adult who is completely comfortable following strict walking and feeding schedules, administering prescribed medications if needed, or simply providing great companionship for your dog while keeping your home safe. Guaranteed Security: As a public figure and educator in the city, my reputation is my bond. Your luxury home will be kept immaculate and secure. Weekend Evenings: On some weekends, I perform from 8 PM to 11 PM. Your pet will be walked, fed, and settled before I leave, and I will return straight after the show. My routine is perfect for pets who thrive on having a calm human presence around. I am extremely meticulous about locking doors, following your specific home security guidelines, and keeping everything immaculate. While at your home, my time is spent in a very quiet manner—either relaxing with your pet, planning my dance lessons, or practicing my bass using headphones so there is never any noise or disruption.

Absolute perfect service from Yixing. We were gone 9 days and had her visit every second day, not only were the cats fed and watered, the cat litter was all cleaned up too. The cats had been played with and she genuinely built a bond with them. This cat sitter isnt just there to top up food and water bowls or empty cat litters, she'll spend time with them, playing with them and send videos and pictures every visit so you're completely up to date with how they're doing!

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or toilet breaks occurred, for doggy day care, home visits, and dog walking services. You can also message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available by email or chat if you have concerns.

Of course! Many sitters on Rover are experienced in caring for multiple pets simultaneously, whether you have a pack of dogs, a clowder of cats, or a mix of both.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to €25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every pet sitter, walker, and boarding sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to €25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Galway choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into your regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When contacting your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
