About: I have loved dogs for many years and I am a dog owner myself. I have a Golden Retriever who is 4 years and 8 months old. I have raised her since she was only 35 days old, so I truly understand the daily care, attention and exercise that dogs need. Through raising my own dog, I have plenty of hands-on experience with walking, running, playing, feeding and understanding different dog behaviours and energy levels. I know how important it is for dogs to get enough exercise, companionship and mental stimulation. I am patient, gentle and responsible, and I always follow the owner’s instructions carefully. Safety is my top priority, and I make sure every dog feels comfortable and happy during our walks or visits. Spending time with dogs brings me a lot of joy, and I would love to help give your dog the care, exercise and attention they deserve while you are busy or away. I currently work part-time, so I have flexible availability for pet care. I am available all day on Sundays and from 5 pm on wards Monday to Saturday, which is perfect for evening walks, playtime and drop-in visits. Your dog’s safety and happiness are my top priorities. I always follow your instructions carefully and keep dogs safely on leash during walks. I pay close attention to their behaviour and surroundings and choose safe, quiet walking routes. I will also send updates and photos so you can feel relaxed knowing your dog is in good hands.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was 10, when my friend went on holidays with her family I cycled 6km to her house to walk and feed her dogs. My family got our Sandy, a labradoodle who is the light of our lives 8 years ago. Training, walking and playing with her are some of my favourite things to do on the weekends I visit home. I work full-time as a civil servant, but my hours are flexible. I am available every evening after 5pm and enjoy long walks in Salthill. My weekends are typically quiet so I am available full-time from Friday evening until Monday morning. I can also work remotely if required, I will just need a bit of notice. I am respectful of other people’s spaces and will adhere to any requests as set out. Each dog will be given fulfilling walks and I can provide transport to and from walking areas if needed.

“Victoria was simply excellent. She gave me photo and message updates on my cat Stella while I was away and I returned to a very happy and relaxed kitty. Highly recommend Victoria!”

Darcie took to her straight away, she called everyday to take her for walks to the beach and sent lovely pictures to us of her enjoying herself in the water. I would highly recommend Dearbhaile, she is extremely capable and an absolute pleasure to deal with. Elaine & Art, Salthill”

About: I have been walking dogs for friends and family for years now, I love taking care of animals, both cats and dogs! I would love to meet your pet! I’m currently working part-time, so I have plenty of time to care for pets and go on long walks. I can be available at short notice. I am very responsible with pets, I live near grassy areas and a dog cafe where dogs can meet other dogs if your pet likes to meet friends!
About: What sets me apart from other pet sitters is my lifelong experience with animals and the genuine love I have for them. I grew up on a farm, caring for dogs and cats from a young age, and I’ve continued to take care of my own pets and those of friends and landlords over the years. I understand that every pet has its own personality and needs, and I always treat them with patience, respect, and affection. I go beyond just feeding or walking I make sure pets feel safe, happy, and loved while their owners are away, sometimes even staying overnight to maintain their comfort and routine. I currently work 6 hours a day, but I am free in the morning until 10 a.m. and usually in the afternoon after 5 p.m... but everything can be discussed beforehand to fit into a routine where I can take care of your pet. I care for pets in their own home, always following their daily routine for feeding, play, and rest. I make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved, giving plenty of attention, affection, and gentle interaction. My priority is their happiness and well-being while keeping their owner informed and reassured.
About: I am a full-time dog sitter and walker with 10 years' experience caring for dogs of various sizes, from Rottweilers to pugs. During this time, I have learned that each dog is unique and has its own specific needs. My approach focuses on small group numbers and meeting each dogs needs: health, exercise, food, sleep and enrichment - whether that be a puppy needing hourly toilet breaks, a high-energy dog requiring lots of exercise and mental stimulation, or a senior needing medication. I can also support training. I am trained in canine first aid and dog behaviour and always carry an first aid kit. I am working full-time at the moment as a dog walker/minder. Apart from walks during the day, where I can be away for up to 2 hours, I supervise the dogs. They get plenty of exercise and affection. I follow all instructions the owner provides for me, including walking and minding. I use a form to gather all information about the current routine and follow it.

About: Hi, my name's Asia! I have loved caring for animals since my very first word (dog), and after 25 years it is still one of my main passions! My hobbies and life have brought me to gain a wide experience taking care of different types of pets all with different personalities. The type of animal I have most experience with are cats however, I can take care from the smallest rodents to the biggest dogs. I definitely don't get scared by size, and I also have experience with more rare pets such as reptiles, amphibians and I would be willing to care for bugs too. Services I offer: - Standard minding at your place (Including feeding, playing, brushing, cuddling) - Walks - Quick "lunch drop offs" (when you're at work) - Overnight stays/house sitting or night time drop ins -Administer medications (most experienced with cats but comfortable with dogs too) - Basic training help - I can only pet sit at my place for small animals in their habitat (such as rodents, amphibian, reptiles etc) as my cat is unfortunately scared of dogs and most other cats Please if you have any question at all, don't hesitate to drop me a quick message. I know every pet has their own habits and their own personality, and at the end of the day if you have to choose someone to mind your pet I totally understand you have to be 100% sure they are the right fit for them and that they like them! Because of this, I offer free consultations either in person or online to see if I'm the right fit for your pet and vice versa! Drop me a message for any questions :) I take care of my boy cat on a daily basis, but I geniunely try to meet and take care of as many friends as possible during the week Even if my own apartment is only available for smaller pets in their tank/enclosure, I offer pet sitting in your own house, ensuring all rules are followed and that the pet is the most comfortable. For local walking services, I live close to a nice big park and, if the pet likes it, a beach we can run on.

About: Having had pets all my life, caring for animals has always come naturally to me. I’ve dog- and cat-sat on multiple occasions and really enjoy earning a pet’s trust and getting to know their personality. Whether a pet needs calm reassurance, playtime, routine walks, or extra patience, I adapt to their needs. I’m also comfortable administering medication when needed. I’m reliable, attentive, and genuinely love spending time with animals. I'm generally available at all daily hours as I work part time in the evenings, but can tweak my schedule if needed for night time jobs. I provide a calm, safe, and caring environment where pets can feel comfortable and secure. I make sure to follow owner instructions carefully including feeding routines, medication schedules, exercise needs, and house rules. Your pets will be supervised at all times and given plenty of attention, play, and affection. I'll ensure that there will always be fresh water, a clean environment, and regular updates to reassure you of their wellbeing

About: Hi! I’m Veronica, in my 30s and proud rescue dog human to Thor 🐾 I know first-hand how difficult it can be to trust someone with your dog, because I’ve been in that position too. I understand the stress of leaving your dog with someone new and how important it is to find someone reliable, patient, and genuinely caring. I’ve always been one of those people who, as a child, would stop to say hello to every dog I saw… and honestly, not much has changed... If there’s a dog nearby, chances are I’ll be the one asking if I can say hi :) Animals have always been a big part of my life. Growing up, I always had pets at home, from hamsters and guinea pigs to dogs, and over the years I’ve also gained experience caring for cats. Thor is a rescue dog and has been by my side for the last 10 years. He’s a sensitive soul and has struggled with many things over the years, but through training, patience, love (lots of love!) and, of course, plenty of treats, he has grown in confidence and come such a long way. Living with Thor has taught me that every animal is different, each with their own personality, needs, and boundaries. That’s why, before starting any service, I like to take the time to get to know your best friend and ask plenty of questions during our first meeting! It helps me understand their routine, personality, and needs so I can adapt my care and make them feel as comfortable and safe as possible 🐾 I currently work part time in the mental health field, which means I am Garda vetted. I also offer 1-to-1 dog walks and home visits in Galway City. I don’t mix dogs from different households unless agreed beforehand, so your pet gets my full attention :). I have a car in case of any emergency and I'm PET FIRST AID CERTIFIED. My goal is simple: happy pets, relaxed humans, and peace of mind knowing they’re in safe hands 💙 I currently work part-time, which gives me plenty of flexibility for pet care. I am available most mornings from Monday to Sunday, as well as several afternoons throughout the week. I am Garda Vetted and work with vulnerable individuals, so I understand the importance of trust, responsibility, and reliability. I am in my 30s and have recently completed a Master's degree in Psychology, which has strengthened my communication skills, attention to detail, and professional approach. I am punctual, dependable, and attentive to each pet's individual needs, ensuring they feel safe and comfortable. My dog, Thor, does not get along with other dogs or cats, so I provide care exclusively in the owner’s home. I consider this to be better for them, as staying in their own homes is less disruptive to their routines and allows them to adapt more comfortably and naturally to their usual environment.
“Laura dropped in on our cockapoo Teddy a couple of times over the last few weeks. Teddy can be anxious meeting new people but loved Laura from the first meet. Would highly recommend Laura to anyone looking for a reliable sitter. Great communication too and regular updates.”

If the owner has a backyard, the pet can be release in there to be played with and use the space. About: Myself and my partner Abi have been providing services on Rover since Autumn 2023, looking after a variety of dogs in all shapes and sizes - walking, feeding, bathing, cleaning up, nothing is off the table, I'm positive you'll find a trusted pet carer in me. Most of our availability will fall on Friday evenings or the weekend unless discussed in advance, we may also have availability during the week too. An average service when pet sitting in your home would include: full bowl 'fresh' water and a full bowl of pet food on arrival, taking your pet out for their business frequently as desired (varying on individual pet), a shower if required, kitty litter / dog dropping clean if/when required. I'm intuitive and willing to take on specific instructions catered to your pet, I have experience providing oral medication to anxious and allergic dogs on separate occasions.
About: I have looked after dogs and cats for years. I have had dogs and cats of my own for years also. Am happy to look after puppies also. Your fur baby will be looked after so well. I’m currently working part time so on the days I have availability marked I am fully able to mind your animals. I am also available to do house calls for walks and toilet breaks for your pets. I live on the first floor apartment in Bohermore with outdoor green areas so your dog will be on leash for all toilet breaks and walkies. Pet owners share their Rover experiences - Galway
We were absolutely delighted with Andreja! She was amazing with Suki and went above and beyond to make sure she was happy and well cared for while we were away. Suki had an issue with her paw just before our holiday and needed medication, and Andreja handled everything so well, even with some last-minute changes to her care. She kept us updated, replied quickly and was always so kind, reliable and caring. It was clear that she genuinely enjoyed spending time with Suki and we felt completely relaxed knowing she was in such good hands. We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better cat sitter. Highly recommend Andreja! ❤️
Maryellen was great with my two very nervous cats. She very consciously and calmly respected their space without trying to approach too soon when she first came to meet them before the sitting period. She sent photos every day, and by day 3 both cats were happy to let her pet them! They were well looked after and I hope to book her again in the future!
Absolute perfect service from Yixing. We were gone 9 days and had her visit every second day, not only were the cats fed and watered, the cat litter was all cleaned up too. The cats had been played with and she genuinely built a bond with them. This cat sitter isnt just there to top up food and water bowls or empty cat litters, she'll spend time with them, playing with them and send videos and pictures every visit so you're completely up to date with how they're doing!

Alessandra looked after our two cats so well while we were away! I would absolutely recommend Alessandra as a cat sitter to everyone. She minded our babies with such great care and it’s very clear Alessandra is very knowledgeable on how to mind cats. Alessandra sent us photos and videos every day to put our minds at ease which was really helpful!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When contacting your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
