About: I have loved dogs for many years and I am a dog owner myself. I have a Golden Retriever who is 4 years and 8 months old. I have raised her since she was only 35 days old, so I truly understand the daily care, attention and exercise that dogs need. Through raising my own dog, I have plenty of hands-on experience with walking, running, playing, feeding and understanding different dog behaviours and energy levels. I know how important it is for dogs to get enough exercise, companionship and mental stimulation. I am patient, gentle and responsible, and I always follow the owner’s instructions carefully. Safety is my top priority, and I make sure every dog feels comfortable and happy during our walks or visits. Spending time with dogs brings me a lot of joy, and I would love to help give your dog the care, exercise and attention they deserve while you are busy or away. I currently work part-time, so I have flexible availability for pet care. I am available all day on Sundays and from 5 pm on wards Monday to Saturday, which is perfect for evening walks, playtime and drop-in visits. Your dog’s safety and happiness are my top priorities. I always follow your instructions carefully and keep dogs safely on leash during walks. I pay close attention to their behaviour and surroundings and choose safe, quiet walking routes. I will also send updates and photos so you can feel relaxed knowing your dog is in good hands.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was 10, when my friend went on holidays with her family I cycled 6km to her house to walk and feed her dogs. My family got our Sandy, a labradoodle who is the light of our lives 8 years ago. Training, walking and playing with her are some of my favourite things to do on the weekends I visit home. I work full-time as a civil servant, but my hours are flexible. I am available every evening after 5pm and enjoy long walks in Salthill. My weekends are typically quiet so I am available full-time from Friday evening until Monday morning. I can also work remotely if required, I will just need a bit of notice. I am respectful of other people’s spaces and will adhere to any requests as set out. Each dog will be given fulfilling walks and I can provide transport to and from walking areas if needed.

About: I’ve always had pets growing up, currently have two cats and a cheeky dog. I enjoy teaching him new tricks and chasing balls. I’ve taken care of all ages of dogs from months old to 18 years, and everything in between. Taken care of many cats and know how to keep them entertained. I am currently working part-time, usually 4-5 days a week with mainly weekdays free. I work a 9:30-6/10-5 schedule most days so I am available for morning and evening visits and potentially afternoon depending on location I don’t have the facilities to care for dogs in my own home, but I am more than happy to take care of your pet where they feel comfortable.

About: I have looked after dogs and cats for years. I have had dogs and cats of my own for years also. Am happy to look after puppies also. Your fur baby will be looked after so well. I’m currently working part time so on the days I have availability marked I am fully able to mind your animals. I am also available to do house calls for walks and toilet breaks for your pets. I live on the first floor apartment in Bohermore with outdoor green areas so your dog will be on leash for all toilet breaks and walkies. I have a car also and can bring them for a spin to the park or beach for walkies if your animals like the car, if not they can be walked around the area I live.

About: I have had my dog for 14 years, and since I was a child I've walked dogs for friends and family and have looked after family dogs overnight. I also care for a lot of our neighbourhood cats by feeding them and leaving water out when it's warm. I'm currently a student at University of Galway but I live at home, and I'm home quite often so I'd be around to care for the pet most of the day. Even if I wasn't around, there's always someone at home since my mother works from home, and my own dog Harley would be there to keep your pet company. I have a large garden and lot's of indoor space for large animals, I have a very friendly 14 year old female Husky/Retriever mix that would be great company for pets I look after. She's extremely gentle with cats so no bother there either. I walk my dog 1-2 times a day, I would do the same for a dog I look after. My neighbourhood is a great area for dogwalking, there's lots of green spaces and a beach. I live with my family so there would be other trusted adults around too. I would look after a pet in someone else's house but would also be super open to keeping them at my own house too.

About: Myself and my partner Abi have been providing services on Rover since Autumn 2023, looking after a variety of dogs in all shapes and sizes - walking, feeding, bathing, cleaning up, nothing is off the table, I'm positive you'll find a trusted pet carer in me. Most of our availability will fall on Friday evenings or the weekend unless discussed in advance, we may also have availability during the week too. An average service when pet sitting in your home would include: full bowl 'fresh' water and a full bowl of pet food on arrival, taking your pet out for their business frequently as desired (varying on individual pet), a shower if required, kitty litter / dog dropping clean if/when required. I'm intuitive and willing to take on specific instructions catered to your pet, I have experience providing oral medication to anxious and allergic dogs on separate occasions.

About: What sets me apart from other pet sitters is my lifelong experience with animals and the genuine love I have for them. I grew up on a farm, caring for dogs and cats from a young age, and I’ve continued to take care of my own pets and those of friends and landlords over the years. I understand that every pet has its own personality and needs, and I always treat them with patience, respect, and affection. I go beyond just feeding or walking I make sure pets feel safe, happy, and loved while their owners are away, sometimes even staying overnight to maintain their comfort and routine. I currently work 6 hours a day, but I am free in the morning until 10 a.m. and usually in the afternoon after 5 p.m... but everything can be discussed beforehand to fit into a routine where I can take care of your pet. I care for pets in their own home, always following their daily routine for feeding, play, and rest. I make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved, giving plenty of attention, affection, and gentle interaction. My priority is their happiness and well-being while keeping their owner informed and reassured.

About: Hello! I am a professional jazz singer and dance instructor well-known within the Galway community. I offer an exclusive House Sitting service for owners who want their homes and pets treated with the utmost respect. I welcome dogs of all shapes and sizes. I am an experienced, calm, and highly responsible adult who is completely comfortable following strict walking and feeding schedules, administering prescribed medications if needed, or simply providing great companionship for your dog while keeping your home safe. What I offer: Reliable Routine Follower: I follow your exact medical, walking, and feeding schedules to the letter. Quiet Companionship: Since I spend my days preparing dance classes and practicing bass (using headphones), your pet will have plenty of company throughout the day. Guaranteed Security: As a public figure and educator in the city, my reputation is my bond. Your luxury home will be kept immaculate and secure. Weekend Evenings: On some weekends, I perform from 8 PM to 11 PM. Your pet will be walked, fed, and settled before I leave, and I will return straight after the show. As a freelance dance instructor and musician, I work on a highly flexible, part-time schedule. This allows me to spend most of my day directly at your home, providing constant companionship. My routine is perfect for pets who thrive on having a calm human presence around. On the specific evenings when I have jazz performances (typically from 8 PM to 11 PM), your pet will be fully fed, walked, and settled before I leave, and I will return straight back to the property immediately after the show. Security and respect for your property are my top priorities. I strictly provide care at the owner's home, ensuring your pet stays in their comfortable, familiar environment. I am extremely meticulous about locking doors, following your specific home security guidelines, and keeping everything immaculate. While at your home, my time is spent in a very quiet manner—either relaxing with your pet, planning my dance lessons, or practicing my bass using headphones so there is never any noise or disruption.

I used to have cats as well, so I’m comfortable looking after both dogs and cats and understand that every pet has their own personality and needs. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, or simply keeping them company, I’ll care for your pets as if they were my own. Caring for pets is already part of my everyday life, as I have my own French Bulldog and a Reef Tank with fishes and corals. About: Hi! I’m Veronica, in my 30s and proud rescue dog human to Thor 🐾 I know first-hand how difficult it can be to trust someone with your dog, because I’ve been in that position too. I understand the stress of leaving your dog with someone new and how important it is to find someone reliable, patient, and genuinely caring. I’ve always been one of those people who, as a child, would stop to say hello to every dog I saw… and honestly, not much has changed... If there’s a dog nearby, chances are I’ll be the one asking if I can say hi :) Animals have always been a big part of my life. Growing up, I always had pets at home, from hamsters and guinea pigs to dogs, and over the years I’ve also gained experience caring for cats. Thor is a rescue dog and has been by my side for the last 10 years. He’s a sensitive soul and has struggled with many things over the years, but through training, patience, love (lots of love!) and, of course, plenty of treats, he has grown in confidence and come such a long way. Living with Thor has taught me that every animal is different, each with their own personality, needs, and boundaries. That’s why, before starting any service, I like to take the time to get to know your best friend and ask plenty of questions during our first meeting! It helps me understand their routine, personality, and needs so I can adapt my care and make them feel as comfortable and safe as possible 🐾 I currently work part time in the mental health field, which means I am Garda vetted. I also offer 1-to-1 dog walks and home visits in Galway City. I don’t mix dogs from different households unless agreed beforehand, so your pet gets my full attention :). I have a car in case of any emergency and I'm PET FIRST AID CERTIFIED. My goal is simple: happy pets, relaxed humans, and peace of mind knowing they’re in safe hands 💙 I currently work part-time, which gives me plenty of flexibility for pet care. I am available most mornings from Monday to Sunday, as well as several afternoons throughout the week. I am Garda Vetted and work with vulnerable individuals, so I understand the importance of trust, responsibility, and reliability. I am in my 30s and have recently completed a Master's degree in Psychology, which has strengthened my communication skills, attention to detail, and professional approach. I am punctual, dependable, and attentive to each pet's individual needs, ensuring they feel safe and comfortable. My dog, Thor, does not get along with other dogs or cats, so I provide care exclusively in the owner’s home. I consider this to be better for them, as staying in their own homes is less disruptive to their routines and allows them to adapt more comfortably and naturally to their usual environment.

About: Hi there! I’m Catherine, a proud pet parent to two sweet cats, Miley and Jinx, and a goofy pit-bull mix, Marty, so I know how important it is to find someone you can trust with your furry family. Whether it’s walks, playtime, cuddles, or keeping to a routine, I treat every pet like my own, with patience, love, and lots of attention. I’m comfortable with pets of all sizes and personalities, and I’ll make sure your pets feel happy, safe, and loved while you’re away! I’m currently working part-time as a substitute teacher and volleyball coach, so I have plenty of time to care for your pets. I’m home often and can easily fit in morning, afternoon, or evening visits depending on your needs. While I’m unfortunately unable to host pets in my own home due to shared accommodation, I’m more than happy to provide in-home care, drop-in visits, dog walking, and other sitting duties to keep your pets happy, healthy, and loved while you’re away.

Mags looked after my 3 cats while I was away for 4 days. I felt really at ease when I left because she was so calm, competent and reliable. One of my cats is diabetic so it was a slightly harder situation than normal cat-sit but she sent updates every day and kept me fully informed. I would highly recommend her to anyone!

Absolute perfect service from Yixing. We were gone 9 days and had her visit every second day, not only were the cats fed and watered, the cat litter was all cleaned up too. The cats had been played with and she genuinely built a bond with them. This cat sitter isnt just there to top up food and water bowls or empty cat litters, she'll spend time with them, playing with them and send videos and pictures every visit so you're completely up to date with how they're doing!

Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.

If you have security cameras or smart doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When contacting your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
