“Mel is reliable, caring and kind. She is so good to our Lurcher Elmo and we couldn’t reccomend her more. Elmo can be stubborn and wary of new people and Mel took her time with him gave him time and space. Mel is just amazing”
About: We have got your Tail and Furr covered 😀 I am a proud furry owner of Laila (female golden retriever. I’ve had pets my entire life and recently I’ve started caring for others in addition to my own. I have experience caring for dogs of all different sizes and breeds. I am fully time working from home and can take care of pet 24*7. I offer extended stays as well. I live in an apartment with a dog park nearby so lots of running around and play time. She is very social and loves to have company, friendly to other dogs and shares toys. Trips to park nearby does happen every 3-5 times a day with my dog so your dog would have an additional company and will enjoy the time here with us. You only need to bring your dog food and any specific treats that you give, normally I cook for my dog different meals so some dogs enjoy having that food too. I can train dogs on some level, like relax, calm and excessive barking. I take dogs out for 3-4 times for a walk/run to near park. The additional advantage that I have as a pet sitter is that I work from home so I get to stay with them 24*7. They are often taken for car rides since my dog loves car rides so we try to bring the dogs to car rides. Laila sleeps with us in bed or sometimes on couch so every dog prefers to sleep in a comfortable spot, so we let the dog decide where they find the comfort to sleep. Majority of our pet siting dogs sleeps in bed if they are small sized and if they have quite fur then they prefer sleeping on couch near window to get some air. I have seen my dog Laila sleeps near window when she feels warm since she has quite a fur and seen the same with other dogs too. We live in 2 bhk apartment, it's quite big with a balcony. There are also number of dogs in neighbourhood. We have a dog park nearby where we take them for a run and have number of toys at home where both dogs can play and have their share of fun and play.We can talk in case you have any further questions or concerns while keeping your fury with us. Thank you. I am working from home so most of the times I have my full attention to the pets. While I work from home I can play with them and I have a dog myself so she fits in perfectly and so will your dog. I make sure their eating, walking and playing time is taken care of. I bring the dogs for a walk 2-3 times a day. I have back garden where we play fetch and chase.

The average cost for Dog Walking in Kildare on Rover is {{median_grand_total_num.as_currency}} per walk (as of {{date}}). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of Dog Walking easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Dog Walking.
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialise in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your Eircode to find a sitter within walking distance in your neighbourhood.
Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-to-one walking services.
Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Kildare. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighbourhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.
Tip: Keep in mind that many cities require your dog walker to have a permit or licence for group walks.
For dog walking bookings, your dog walker can send a Rover Card with details about your dog’s walk. Rover Cards require at least one photo and may include a map of the walking route, the total walk time and distance, and any pee or poo breaks recorded by the walker.
The route map lets you review where your dog was walked in Kildare after the booking. It is not live GPS tracking.
Have specific details you would like included? Message your dog walker in the app before the walk begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to €25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every walker must complete an identity verification process before listing their services on Rover. This process checks that the sitter’s identity matches their provided documents.
Identity verification doesn't assess a sitter’s experience or suitability for your pet. To see if a sitter is the right fit, you can review each sitter's profile for ratings, verified reviews, repeat pet owner information and care style. We also recommend arranging a Meet & Greet to discuss your pet’s needs and make sure the walker is the right fit before booking.
For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When contacting your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who've never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover, but you're welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you've previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you're booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your walker interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you'll have a chance to go through your pet's routine, medical needs and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. A Meet & Greet is a great way to prepare your pet and walker for longer or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
Yes, you can find sitters who can respond to your messages in under 5 minutes. To find the fastest available match, message multiple sitters with a recent 'calendar last updated' notice on their profiles.
Walkers on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three- or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-in visits, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12.00 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our booking protection will kick in. This means you'll get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement walker.
