“Sandra was amazing. She went above and beyond to make sure our cats felt comfortable and learned to trust her. It was such a comfort knowing they were in such caring hands while we were away. She took the time to understand each of their individual personalities and needs, and gave them exactly the care and attention they required. We came home to happy, relaxed cats, and we couldn't be more grateful. We would highly recommend Sandra to anyone looking for a kind, reliable, and dedicated cat sitter.”

About: I’ve been around animals my entire life I got my first dog when I was 9, and I’ve never grown up in a home without a pet since. Caring for animals is second nature to me. I currently have 1 dog, 1 cat, and 3 adorable kittens, so I’m well used to all kinds of personalities, needs, and routines. I’m a true animal lover and would happily spend all day every day caring for furbabies. Whether it’s cuddles, playtime, feeding, walks, or just keeping them company! I treat every pet as if they’re my own. I’m fully available on weekdays and weekends for any pet care needs, whether it’s daytime walks, evening walks, check-ins, or pet sitting for a few hours or the whole day I create a peaceful and stress-free environment by caring for pets in their own home, where they feel most secure. I follow their usual routines, give them gentle attention, and keep their space clean and comforting. I’m trustworthy and respectful. I don’t offer overnights at my home due to my own dogs and cats.

About: I’ve always been a huge animal lover and have plenty of hands on experience caring for both dogs and cats. I grew up having dogs of my own, so looking after pets and making sure they feel happy, comfortable and well cared for has always been a natural part of my life. I currently have a cat of my own and regularly help care for my grandparents’ cats and dogs, as well as my sister’s dog. I’ve also helped neighbours with pet sitting and looking after their animals when they’ve been away or needed an extra hand. Through this, I’ve had experience caring for different pets with their own personalities, needs and routines. I’m comfortable with feeding, walking, playtime, keeping pets company and following their usual routines. I know how important it is for pets to feel safe and settled when their owners aren’t around, so I always take the time to get to know them and make sure they get plenty of attention and affection. I’m reliable, patient and attentive, and I’m very happy to follow any specific instructions you have. I’d treat your pet with the same care and affection I give my own. As a secondary school teacher, I have a consistent weekly schedule and plenty of availability outside of school hours. I’m available for dog walking and drop in visits after 4pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, and from 1:30pm onwards on Wednesdays. At weekends, my schedule is much more flexible and I’m available throughout the day for dog walking, pet sitting, drop in visits and longer periods of care. I’m happy to work around your pet’s usual routine wherever possible and can discuss individual needs and timings with you. I also have greater flexibility during school holidays and mid-term breaks. I understand that every pet has their own personality, routine and individual needs, so I always aim to make their time with me as comfortable and familiar as possible. I’m happy to follow any instructions provided by owners regarding feeding, walks, exercise, playtime and their usual daily routine. When caring for a pet in their own home, I’m very respectful of both the pet’s space and the owner’s home. I’ll make sure they receive plenty of attention, companionship and playtime, as well as regular walks and toilet breaks where needed. I’m also happy to send regular photos and updates so you can relax knowing your pet is happy and being well looked after. Safety is really important to me, so I’ll always follow instructions regarding leads, feeding, interactions with other animals and anything else I should be aware of. Most importantly, I’ll treat every pet I look after with the same care, patience and affection I would give my own.

We walk a lot and then go to sleep peacefully. I use walking with animals to get rid of their excess energy. As a priority, I would consider taking care of your animals on your premises (at your home), and don't worry, I keep everything clean and tidy, bathe the animals, and ensure that their food and water bowls are clean. I regularly change the water and clean the dog beds.

FAQs for Cat Sitting - Kildare

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Cat Sitting in Kildare on Rover is {{median_grand_total_num.as_currency}} per Visit (as of {{date}}). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Cat Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Cat Sitting.

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialise in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your Eircode to find a sitter within walking distance in your neighbourhood.

Of course! Many sitters on Rover are experienced in caring for multiple pets simultaneously, whether you have a pack of dogs, a clowder of cats, or a mix of both.

Look for sitters who highlight multi-pet expertise or check for verified reviews from other Kildare pet parents with similar pet households.

Every sitter must complete an identity verification process before listing their services on Rover. This process checks that the sitter’s identity matches their provided documents.

Identity verification doesn't assess a sitter’s experience or suitability for your pet. To see if a sitter is the right fit, you can review each sitter's profile for ratings, verified reviews, repeat pet owner information and care style. We also recommend arranging a Meet & Greet to discuss your pet’s needs and make sure the sitter is the right fit before booking.

For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to €25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitter’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity verification, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.

If you have security cameras or smart doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who've never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover, but you're welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you've previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you're booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you'll have a chance to go through your pet's routine, medical needs and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. A Meet & Greet is a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When contacting your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
