Megan house sat our Jack Russell, Bailey, while we were at a family wedding in Croatia. Bailey is a rescue dog who is 11 years old & he has only ever stayed overnight with family. Megan is a kind, caring & very punctual person who has a great love of dogs & cats. She made time to get to know Bailey & his quirks & we knew as we left for our trip, he was in great hands. We received daily photos, videos and updates from Megan while away and returned home to a very happy dog in a clean & tidy house. The experience completely exceeded my expectations & I would be more than happy to recommend Megan to anyone considering a dog sitter in the area.

About: I have grown up surrounded by animals and I genuinely love them. Back home, I raised two dogs and a cat, so I understand that pets are family. I have experience handling both large, energetic dogs and smaller, gentle ones. I am a very detail-oriented person, so I will always pay close attention to your pet's specific needs, moods, and safety. I miss my own pets, so I will treat yours with the same love and care I give mine. My schedule is currently very flexible regarding days and times. I am available for early morning walks, mid-day drop-ins, and afternoon strolls. Since I am a student, I can easily adapt my routine to fit your dog's needs. Whether you need a long energetic walk or just some company for your pet while you are at work, I am happy to help. Safety is my top priority. I am extremely careful with open doors and gates to prevent any escapes. I strictly follow instructions regarding food, medication, and walking routes. Also, I know how important it is to stay connected, so I will send you plenty of photo updates and a map of our walk so you can have peace of mind knowing your furry friend is happy and safe with me.

About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life — I’ve had pets since I was 5 years old. Back home in El Salvador, I have two lovely dogs, Negra and Chele, who are now being cared for by my family. I’ve been trusted by neighbors, friends, and relatives to walk, feed, and care for their pets for over 10 years. I have experience with dogs of all sizes, from playful puppies to senior dogs. I treat every animal with love, patience, and the same care I’d give my own. Pet care fits very well into my daily routine. I am currently not working, and I only study for a couple of hours each day, which gives me plenty of time and flexibility to care for pets. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, or just keeping them company, I’m available and fully committed to giving them the attention they deserve. Daycare covers up to 8 hours. For boarding time: check in between 3/7 pm. Check out: at 1:00 p. m. Additional time or late pick-ups can be arranged with an extra charge. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or at their owner’s place, I always make sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable. I follow the pet’s routine closely — including feeding times, walks, play, and any special instructions. I keep their space clean, give them plenty of attention, and make sure they never feel alone. I’m also happy to send photo or video updates to keep owners reassured while they’re away.

About: I’ve always had dogs in my life. I had a Jack russel terrier when I was 3 till he was about 14 and I was always walking , feeding him up until his last years. We adopted a Labrador retriever nearly 3 years ago this month who me and my family love and adore! So I’m not afraid of big lively dogs whatsoever! We also recently adopted my granny who passed away a couple months ago. We knew it wouldn’t be right for them to go to a home or shelter as they are both over the ages of ten! So we adopted them into our home. A cute little Shih tzu and a terrier! Not only have I grown up with dogs in my immediate family I have been taking care of my family dogs too. Every summer I used to head up to limerick and walk my granny’s and cousins dogs while they were at work everyday. I’ve taken care of neighbours dogs and walked them too. I have such love and passion for any type or size of dog!! I’m currently studying criminology in college but I am finished up next week! I work a couple shifts in the theatre bar in the arts centre in drogheda and pick up shifts in sonairte when I can! So my schedule is quite flexible during the week and on weekends! I have a fenced back garden with enough space for your dogs to run around! If your dog doesn’t get along great with other dogs I can easily crate or put your dog in a separate room to mine. I will always accommodate to your dogs needs!

About: I have cared for all types of dogs since I was 10 years old. My neighbors, friends, and family trust me to watch, feed, walk, and play with their beloved pets. I have full availability on Mondays and Tuesdays, as these are my days off from work. During those days, I can dedicate all my time and attention to caring for, walking, and playing with your pet. At my home, your pet will enjoy a fully fenced and secure backyard. They will have the company of my dog and my cat, who are very social, calm, and completely used to living with other animals. If the service is at your house, I will strictly follow their feeding routines, walks, and home rules. Safety and well-being are my top priorities: if you prefer your pet to rest in their crate/carrier or have a separate space to sleep safely, I will adapt 100% to whatever they need to feel happy and stress-free

About: I'm the eldest of 5 and we all grew up with all sorts of pets. It started from dad growing up on a farm, with cows, pigs, dogs, & cats. I have been an unofficial pet sitter my whole life, whether it was by childminding, dogs at work, or now whilst living in Ireland for the past year, shetland ponies, highland cows, goats, & sheep. There is no better joy than looking after children & animals. It brings such a calm to my life & something I'd never be without. I would treat your fur babies, as if they were part of my family. I look forward to getting the opportunity. I currently work three days a week minding two of my friend's children, so I'd havea fairly flexible schedule to meet your needs. I adhere to your guidelines & wishes to the utmost care & respect. I am confident in my abilities & safety measures to make sure you pets are well looked after.

About: I’ve always been someone who naturally connects with animals and genuinely enjoys spending time with them. Whether it’s going for long walks, playing, giving cuddles, or simply keeping them company, I love making pets feel happy and comfortable while their owners are away. Friends and family have often trusted me to look after their pets because they know I’ll care for them with patience, attention, and affection. For me, pet sitting isn’t just a job—it’s something I truly enjoy, and I treat every pet as if they were my own. I currently have a very flexible schedule, which allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to the pets in my care. I attend classes from Monday to Thursday between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM, but outside of those hours I’m available for walks, visits, feeding, playtime, overnight stays, and companionship. Since I’m not working another job at the moment, I can easily adapt to your pet’s routine and make sure they receive the care, attention, and affection they need throughout the day. A pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, personality, and any specific needs they may have so they can feel as relaxed and secure as possible. In a pet owner’s home, I respect their established routines, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any special instructions. I make sure pets receive plenty of attention, affection, and supervision while maintaining a calm and familiar environment. I’m also attentive to signs of stress or discomfort and communicate regularly with owners, providing updates and photos for peace of mind. My goal is to make every pet feel safe, cared for, and loved while their family is away.

About: 👋 Hello! I have been surrounded by dogs and cats since the day I was born, which allowed me to learn how to read and deeply understand animal body language at a very early age. Animals are my life's passion! 🎓 To back up my lifelong experience with professional knowledge, I am currently studying to become a certified dog and cat nutritionist, with my graduation set for April 2027. Here is a quick overview of the specialized experience I bring to the table: 🐶 Dog Expertise: At just 9 years old, I began behavioral and agility training at a German club. By age 11, I successfully raised my first puppy under the club’s guidance. I also have hands-on experience in puppy whelping and raising litters from birth. Whether you have a high-energy puppy or an older dog, I know how to keep them safe and mentally stimulated. 🐱 Cat Expertise: Having grown up with indoor and outdoor cats, I thoroughly understand feline behavior. This lifelong bond allows me to easily spot early warning signs or subtle changes if a cat is feeling unwell. ❤️ Whether you have a playful pup or a sensitive cat, your pet will be in safe, knowledgeable, and loving hands! 🏡 I am currently studying from home, which gives me immense flexibility throughout the week. Aside from walking and feeding my own dogs around 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM, I do not have a fixed routine. This allows me to adapt completely to your pet’s schedule, whether they need mid-day walks, early morning feedings, or dedicated attention and company during the day. 📍 I primarily offer pet sitting at the owner's home, drop-in visits, and dog walking. I prefer caring for your pets in their own familiar environment to minimize their stress. 🌲 While I live in a beautiful mountain area surrounded by forests with a yard, I live in a rented house with my own two 10-month-old dogs and a senior cat. Because of this rental situation, I prefer to avoid having client pets in my home. However, in case of an absolute emergency, you can contact me for Daycare or Boarding, though I strictly reserve this for urgent exceptions. 🛡️ Safety & Preferences: ⚖️ Large Dogs: If your dog weighs over 30kg, they must be well-trained on the leash and friendly toward other dogs and cats. 🔒 Safety First: Safety is my top priority. Your dogs will always remain safely on a leash during walks, and I pay strict attention to keeping indoor cats safely inside. Thanks to my experience, I read body language instantly to prevent any stressful situations.

About: I’ve been walking dogs and caring for dogs my entire life. I adore dogs big and small and volunteer in the DSPCA on a monthly basis. Our little daschund passed from IVDD recently so we are missing a dog in the house! I’m currently working from home so I am home all the time to support your dog. My schedule is flexible, dogs will get breaks consistently (I need the same as I am constantly going on little breaks!) Our back garden is fenced off, no way in or out. It’s very big and has springy grass so dogs will have plenty of space to run!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Drogheda on Rover is €45.44 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 662 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Drogheda. Enter your Eircode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when contacting them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking rubbish out on scheduled bin collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Drogheda walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to €25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every pet sitter, walker, and boarding sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to €25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Drogheda choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into your regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When contacting your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
