About: About Me I am an experienced dog owner with a genuine love for animals and a calm, patient approach to caring for dogs. I have experience with large rescue dogs, having cared for two rescue dogs weighing around 60kg each. This has given me hands-on experience with strong dogs, different personalities, and dogs who may need extra patience, reassurance and time to feel comfortable. I understand that every dog is different. Some dogs need a long adventure, some need a calm walk, and some need someone who understands that trust takes time. My priority is always making sure your dog feels safe, comfortable and cared for. I currently have a flexible schedule, which allows me to dedicate time to caring for dogs and providing reliable walks, visits and boarding when needed. I am mainly available on weekends and can also accommodate weekday availability depending on the service required. I understand how important consistency and routine are for dogs, so I always aim to provide care that fits naturally around their normal habits and needs. I have experience caring for large rescue dogs and understand the importance of patience, calm handling and building trust. I have owned two rescue dogs weighing around 60kg each, so I am comfortable with larger dogs and dogs who may need extra reassurance in new situations. I have a safe environment and always prioritise the dog's comfort, routine and wellbeing. I am happy to follow each owner's instructions regarding feeding, exercise, medication or any specific needs their dog may have.

About: Have taken care of pets for many years mainly cats, hamsters and guinea pigs with from time to time minding dogs such as red setters, beagles and smaller dogs. Besides the "regular" kind of animals I have also minded fishes and I have a deep interest in sugar gliders and other exotic pets I'm a masters student, so I have plenty of time to mind, check-up or walk the pets. I have a flexible schedule and can accommodate most requests. The pets safety and well-being are my top priorities. If there are any medications or strict guidelines to follow be assured that I don't mind take extra time or steps to ensure the comfort and peace of mind of both owners and pets alike. There is a very big park/walking route that can be adapted to suit all levels of energy your pet may have. Generally I wouldn't not take cats and dogs at the same time, unless they were siblings and were coming together. I wouldn't take more than 3 dogs at a time. As for cats I can accommodate maximum 4 cats depending on their personalities and willingness to be around other cats. In regards to exotic pets, it would depend and the type of pet.

About: I've always loved spending time with pets. I have a family dog back in Spain who I've helped train, walk, and spoil since she was 3 months old! Multiple friends and even my boss have trusted me with their pets (both cats and dogs) while they were away for holidays, and I've had the time of my life with every single one of them. I enjoy going on long walks myself, which would suit if your dog has lots of energy, but I'm just as happy relaxing with a dog who prefers quiet relaxing time. All dogs I've ever minded, have been taken care of as if they were my own :) I work Monday-Friday from 11:30-6. I'm available stay overnight on weekdays if they're not too far from there I work, and full weekends as needed! I understand how important it is to keep your pets in a safe and familiar environment while you're away. When I care for pets in their own home, I make sure to keep their routine and ensure they feel secure. You can trust me to respect your space and follow any specific instructions you have for your pet's care! Their safety and comfort are my top priority, and I'll treat your home with the utmost care and respect. You can relax knowing your pet is in good hands :)

About: I’ve had pets my whole life — I’ve raised, cared for, and loved animals of all ages, from energetic puppies to seniors who need special attention. This lifelong bond taught me to understand every behavior, respect every routine, and recognize when a pet just needs affection or a little extra care. Here, your best friend isn’t treated as just another pet: they’re treated as if they were my own. Walks, feeding, medication (if needed), playtime, and plenty of attention — all with responsibility, love, and complete transparency with you. Your pet happy, you worry-free. 💛 🐾 Available every afternoon and weekends for your best friend I study in the mornings until 12 pm, which means my afternoons and weekends are fully dedicated to caring for pets. Whether it’s walks, feeding, playtime, or just keeping your furry friend company, your pet will always have someone attentive, loving, and reliable by their side. 🐾 Home visits — care right where your pet feels safest Since I currently live somewhere that doesn’t allow pets, I offer all my care at your home — walks, feeding, playtime, and companionship in the environment your pet already knows and loves. This means less stress for them and total peace of mind for you. And honestly? It works both ways: spending time with animals fills my heart and helps me with my own longing to have a pet around. Your best friend gets genuine, heartfelt attention — not just a service.

About: I've been caring for animals of all kinds; dogs, cats, guinea pigs, bunnies, parrots and even farm animals since I was a little girl. My love for animals runs deep, and that passion has only grown stronger over the years. One of my proudest accomplishments was training my pit bull all on my own while living in New Jersey. Though she is no longer with us, the bond we shared and everything I learned from that experience continues to guide how I care for animals today. What sets me apart is not just my lifelong experience, but the genuine care and attention I give to every animal as if they were my own. I’m comfortable with training, administering medication (including pills and topicals), and following detailed routines to keep your pet feeling safe and happy. Whether it’s caring for energetic puppies, providing gentle support for senior pets, or just being a reliable presence while you're away, I tailor my care to fit each animal’s unique needs and personality. I’m here to offer peace of mind, knowing your pet is in loving, capable hands. Pet care is my top priority right now. I recently moved to Ireland and am currently not working a traditional job, which gives me the flexibility and availability to fully dedicate my time and energy to caring for pets. This means I can offer consistent attention, follow specific routines, and be there when pets need me most—whether it’s for daily walks, playtime, feeding, or just some loving company. Building trust with both pets and their owners is something I take seriously, and I’m grateful to have the time to do it right. In my home, pets are treated like family. I make sure pets feel comfortable and secure, whether that means sticking to their usual routines, offering cozy spots to relax, or providing crate space if needed. If I'm caring for a pet in their own home, I always aim to maintain their daily habits and comfort levels; whether that’s feeding schedules, walk routines, or just giving them the love and attention they’re used to. My goal is to make every pet feel safe, happy, and well cared for, no matter where they are.

About: I'm Irish, 34 + a lover of animals. It's this love for animals which had me spend a lot of time on farms in recent years has had me pet sit a lot. I also like to have the quiet of a place to myself and to be in new environments. So, I have become very experienced with pet sitting + have a strong track record with 39 out of 40 5-star reviews on Trusted House Sitters. I take seriously the responsibility of looking after people's animals, as well as their home. My healthy + steady lifestyle is one that is well suited to pet sitting, with the animals experiencing the benefits of that. The daily routines (waking early, dog walks etc) then fit in well for me. It has been interesting to meet many different characters + breeds along the way + it definitely has a heart opening effect. I am self-employed + study a bit online, fitting everything in with the requirements of the pet sits I do. ( I am also available for paid garden work/yard work/odd jobs/admin, so feel free to enquire). Because I like to live in a clean and tidy space, you can expect your home to be returned to you like that. I don't drink alcohol or smoke so that wouldn't be in the picture. Ready to do a good job. Currently I am available daily and have a flexible schedule to work with, meaning that there is nothing that would clash with the pet sitting. I maintain the routine that the dogs and/or cats are familiar with, while providing a calm environment for the pets in the comfort of their own home.

About: I'm a part-time writer who's originally from the USA but has lived in Ireland for close to four decades. I grew up in a house full of dogs, from collies to Saint Bernards, and learned to handle various dogs as a paperboy. Today I live in Drumcondra in central Dublin with partner Dawn and 16-year-old son Harry. Our home is missing our beloved Fonzie, our rescue dog of 17 years, who passed away in 2024. I've been thinking about taking up dog walking/boarding ever since, in part because I'm an avid walker (and no longer an avid writer!). On my near-daily walks I'm always talking to fellow hikers with dogs, and it just seems a missed opportunity not to have a dog with me, too. So I'm open to tailoring walks that really suit your dog, even daylong adventures with a picnic somewhere nice in the middle. If your dog would be staying overnight, or longer, it'll be even better, because my partner Dawn is the true dog fanatic in the family. It'll be nonstop cuddles once she's home. One key commitment from me is that your dog will feel at home, in a family environment, and will never be left alone. That includes nighttime, when I'll be sleeping in the living room nearby your dog (who I am betting will get a particularly good night's sleep, despite the unfamiliar environment, given all the exercise!). Because of our experience caring for Fonzie, who had mobility issues in his final years, I've also got a soft spot for looking after older dogs. I certainly won't be pushing your dog to walk more than he or she wants. We'll make sure the activity level/duration is appropriate for age, breed and overall health, following your own instructions closely. I'm a freelance writer, with the freedom to pick (or skip) assignments given that I'm approaching retirement age and frankly more interested in getting out for my own daily walk! If your dog is with me, I won't be getting distracted by work. We'll just walk somewhere nice and meet some other dogs along the way. In my home, your dog will be encouraged to sleep on a dog bed in the living room, but I'm not precious. We do have a comfy and well-worn leather sofa that Fonzie certainly preferred and your dog will be welcome to it, if the dog bed doesn't appeal. I'll stay overnight in the living room with your dog. I'll want to keep my visitor company and ensure there's no wimpering. For any quick potty breaks, we have parkland directly outside our home, so we'll go out at night and first thing in the morning, get some food, and then perhaps head out for a longer walk with snacks in the backpack. If you need me to look after your dog overnight in your own home, I'll simply follow whatever your instructions are. I'm a man of simple tastes, so you won't need to make any special accommodations for me.

About: I’m very empathetic and can pick up on dogs emotions as I’ve had a dog since I was 10 years old. I’m reliable and committed to understanding pet care. I notice different body language and routines and especially health needs. I’m very patient and attentive and I love animals and would love to do it as a job At the moment I do two days in college which are Thursday 9:30-1:30 and Friday 9:30-11:30am. I work doing events and it varies with hours a lot but I would like to do this job and fit it into my daily routine as it’s something more suited to my personality. I’ve been caring for my dog, a 14 year old parson russel terrier since I was 10 years old. Over the years ive handled everything from daily walks and feeding to understanding their changing needs as they’ve gotten older. I make sure he gets plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, and love while keeping up with health concerns and vet visits. Caring for my dog Teddy who is now senior has taught me how to adapt to different routines and patience. I spend all of my time with my dog when I’m home and treat him like my bestfriend

About: I’m from the west of Ireland and have grown up around dogs my whole life. I work full time in Dublin now and I definitely miss having a dog of my own, so dog sitting feels like a great way to spend some time with dogs while giving them plenty of attention and company. I’m responsible, reliable and genuinely love being around dogs! I work full-time as a teacher during the week, so I’m mainly available for pet care from Friday through Sunday. I can also accommodate some evening visits during the week depending on my schedule. I’m reliable and enjoy spending my free time with dogs, whether that’s going for walks, keeping them company or simply giving them some attention! I always aim to keep pets comfortable and stick to their usual routine as much as possible. I’m happy to follow their normal feeding, walking and play routines, and make sure they get plenty of attention and company. For visits, I’ll make sure they’re fed, exercised, have fresh water and are settled before I leave. When staying in a pet owner’s home, I’ll treat their home with respect and give their pet plenty of care, attention and companionship.

About: I’ve grown up surrounded by dogs, so caring for them has always been a natural part of my life. I’ve had many years of hands-on experience looking after dogs, including managing daily routines, exercise, play, socialisation and general care. I’ve also been closely involved in a dog’s professional training, which gave me valuable practical knowledge about canine behaviour, communication, boundaries, basic obedience and positive reinforcement. This experience taught me how important patience, consistency and calm communication are when caring for dogs. I’m comfortable with energetic dogs and larger breeds, and I enjoy keeping dogs active and mentally stimulated. I also understand that every dog has a different personality and needs, so I always adapt my approach to their individual temperament, energy level and routine. I know how important it is to feel confident when leaving your dog with someone else. I treat every dog in my care with patience, attention and affection, while following their usual routine and their owner’s instructions as closely as possible. My goal is simple: for every dog to feel safe, happy and comfortable while they’re in my care. I study English Monday to Friday from 3:45pm to 5pm, so I’m available before and after my classes. I’m also very flexible on weekends and can adapt to different pet care schedules depending on the service needed. I provide a safe, calm and caring environment for pets. I always follow the owner’s instructions and keep their normal routine as much as possible. I’m attentive to their needs and make sure they receive plenty of care, exercise and companionship.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Dunshaughlin on Rover is {{median_grand_total_num.as_currency}} per night (as of {{date}}). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting.

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialise in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your Eircode to find a sitter within walking distance in your neighbourhood.

House sitters can stay overnight in your home and care for your pets according to the routine you agree on before the booking.

Depending on your pets’ needs, this may include feeding, walks, play, companionship, medication, providing toilet or litter-box care, and keeping their usual schedule. Some sitters may also agree to light household tasks, such as collecting mail, watering plants, or putting bins out, but these are not automatically included.

During the Meet & Greet, discuss the sitter’s overnight schedule, how long your pets can comfortably be left alone, arrival and departure times, update preferences, and all tasks you would like to arrange. Confirm the agreed responsibilities through the Rover app before booking.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to €25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter must complete an identity verification process before listing their services on Rover. This process checks that the sitter’s identity matches their provided documents.

Identity verification doesn't assess a sitter’s experience or suitability for your pet. To see if a sitter is the right fit, you can review each sitter's profile for ratings, verified reviews, repeat pet owner information and care style. We also recommend arranging a Meet & Greet to discuss your pet’s needs and make sure the sitter is the right fit before booking.

For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Dunshaughlin choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into your regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who've never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover, but you're welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you've previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you're booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you'll have a chance to go through your pet's routine, medical needs and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. A Meet & Greet is a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When contacting your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
