About: I've always had experience with dogs, looking after family and friends dogs, and now our Cokapoo Ricky. Dogs always seem to instantly get on with me. Im currently just working part time so ive ample time to take dogs for long walks and play what ever games to burn off their energy. I have a back garden and plenty of space to keep a dog, also I am close to plenty of parks and walks to keep your dog entertained.

“Laura was excellent. She took great care of our 18 year old cat and 2 and a half year old dog in our home. Communication was very good. She sent updates and videos! We’ll definitely book Laura again!”

About: I'm the eldest of 5 and we all grew up with all sorts of pets. It started from dad growing up on a farm, with cows, pigs, dogs, & cats. I have been an unofficial pet sitter my whole life, whether it was by childminding, dogs at work, or now whilst living in Ireland for the past year, shetland ponies, highland cows, goats, & sheep. There is no better joy than looking after children & animals. It brings such a calm to my life & something I'd never be without. I would treat your fur babies, as if they were part of my family. I look forward to getting the opportunity. I currently work three days a week minding two of my friend's children, so I'd havea fairly flexible schedule to meet your needs. I adhere to your guidelines & wishes to the utmost care & respect. I am confident in my abilities & safety measures to make sure you pets are well looked after.

About: I have had dogs throughout my whole life. I’ve completely animal care level 5/6 qualifications. Future veterinary nurse is my intended career path. Dogs is my passion and this is an absolute dream to me. Im currently not working at the moment as I’ve travelled back from Australia this week. Fully flexible to take care of your furry friends needs :) I have a small fenced yard and have an amazing and loving chihuahua/pom aged 7 who is so well behaved with other dogs. I absolutely love walking so lots of time will be spent outdoors if that’s what they prefer

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Carrickmacross on Rover is {{median_grand_total_num.as_currency}} per night (as of {{date}}). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting.

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialise in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your Eircode to find a sitter within walking distance in your neighbourhood.

House sitters can stay overnight in your home and care for your pets according to the routine you agree on before the booking.

Depending on your pets’ needs, this may include feeding, walks, play, companionship, medication, providing toilet or litter-box care, and keeping their usual schedule. Some sitters may also agree to light household tasks, such as collecting mail, watering plants, or putting bins out, but these are not automatically included.

During the Meet & Greet, discuss the sitter’s overnight schedule, how long your pets can comfortably be left alone, arrival and departure times, update preferences, and all tasks you would like to arrange. Confirm the agreed responsibilities through the Rover app before booking.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to €25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter must complete an identity verification process before listing their services on Rover. This process checks that the sitter’s identity matches their provided documents.

Identity verification doesn't assess a sitter’s experience or suitability for your pet. To see if a sitter is the right fit, you can review each sitter's profile for ratings, verified reviews, repeat pet owner information and care style. We also recommend arranging a Meet & Greet to discuss your pet’s needs and make sure the sitter is the right fit before booking.

For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Carrickmacross choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into your regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who've never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover, but you're welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you've previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you're booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you'll have a chance to go through your pet's routine, medical needs and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. A Meet & Greet is a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When contacting your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
