“Betsy is fantastic!! So great to our cats and so communicative and on-time. We trust her to make sure our kitties are well taken care of when we are out of town!! Would 100% recommend!”

About: I've personally cared for multiple dogs and cats for most of my life. I've most recently provided in-home care for a number of pets on Trusted Housesitters along with my partner for the past three years. We have received consistent five-star reviews from pet owners. I've also cared for my own two small dogs, and am comfortable managing daily routines, exercise, and behavioral cues. Most recently, I've supported a senior cat with health issues during an acute period providing attentive monitoring and calm, consistent care. I have a flexible schedule allowing me to be present for walks, daily care, and lots of one on one attention on a regular basis. I live on a quiet two-acre country property with open space and low traffic dirt roads. The yard is not fenced so dogs are always supervised outdoors and kept on a leash for walks.

“Courtney was the most caring and professional pet sitter we had so far. She looked after all the details and all those little specific things our cat had in particular. I highly recommend her services. Courtney hope to work with you again next year ?”

“Hadlie is a reliable help! Our cats seem to like her and are familiar with her. She is trustworthy, friendly, and professional. I rest easy knowing that our cats are well cared for. 💗”

About: I love animals. I grew up with a German Shepard and horses and ponies. We had a Black Lab when my Children were school age whom we adored. I have had large dogs including Rottweilers, Black Lab, Shepard's, and Huskies and taken care of small dogs too including poodles and dachshund's. My neighbors have Two Golden Retrievers whom I spend time with and visit me daily. I have a large yard and I love to play with the dogs and walk dogs. I have a medical background with humans and I am a stickler about safety. I once took care of a cat that needed antibiotics through a tube in his leg. I can safely give medicines to pets. I work from home part time so I have plenty of time to exercise and play with your pup. I live on a country road with lots of good things to sniff. I have a ranch style home in a big yard with lots of shade trees. I will leash your dog if needed when they go outside and stay with them to play. I have security cameras at the front of the property. I live in a very safe and friendly neighborhood.
“We loved having Karla check in on our pup while I was having a medical procedure out of state. I had an adverse reaction and had to stay an extra night and Karla saved our butts by being able to do an extra day! Very punctual and highly recommend using her!”

“Lacy is so friendly and very responsive! She reached out when there were questions too. My cats were happy and fed while we were away for a trip. We even got lots of photos during the visits! Would definitely have her watch my pets again.”

About: About Me I’ve been watching animals of all kinds for over 10 years. From dogs and cats to chickens, ducks, and even hedgehogs! I love and treat each and every one of them as my own. My Schedule I work as a registered nurse 3 days a week - this allows me more time to check in on your little love! *My clinicals are typically half days, so if there is a particular day I marked unavailable, please send me a message, we may be able to work something out.* My Home I live off of a private road on 1.6 acres. My backyard is completely fenced with plenty of trees and nature. This allows for a SAFE environment for your fur baby to run/exercise, play, and lots of sniffing for mental stimulation. What to Expect I treat all animals as my own and ensure play and exercise is part of our routine. I have also have two large dogs who love to play. Photos/videos and activity descriptions are sent regularly to ensure you feel connected to your fur baby! *please let me know if your fur baby has any special limitations at our meet and greet so I can do my best to accommodate them.* I love animals more than people, and will ensure to treat your little love like royalty! About: Dogs have always been a big part of my life and I genuinely love getting to know each dog’s unique personality, quirks, and favorite ways to have fun! I raised my own dog from a puppy through 5 ½ years old, so I have firsthand experience with everything from energetic puppy days and changing routines to the day-to-day care that keeps a dog happy, comfortable, and thriving. I’ve also cared for a variety of dogs through pet sitting, including households with multiple dogs at once and pups of different sizes, ages, personalities, and needs. I’m comfortable following each dog’s established routine and detailed care instructions, including specialized feeding routines such as raw feeding. I’m naturally very affectionate, playful, and hands-on with dogs, so you can expect plenty of playtime, attention, and cuddles while you’re away. Most importantly, I want your dog to feel safe, happy, and comfortable in their own home while keeping their normal routine as consistent as possible. My goal is for them to have such a good time that it feels a little like they got their own sleepover with a new friend! My schedule varies week to week and I am flexible depending on the week and proximity to my day job. Reach out with your needs and let’s chat! I treat every pup I care for like they are my very own! I recognize that trusting me with your animal is no small thing and take your trust very seriously. I know animals all have their unique quirks and personalities and find getting to know them one of the best parts of this job!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
