“Cadie came through when I needed a last minute dog/house sitter for the evening. She was willing to meet me and get introduced to my dog within hours the same day and treated my guy with plenty of love overnight. She did a great job and was very professional. I’d recommend her and will be booking with her again. Thanks Cadie!”

About: I have been around animals all my life. Large and small and every size in between. I have two dogs, chickens two horses and a crazy goat who thinks she’s a dog! I have been a dog groomer for roughly 11 years. I have dog sat in my home as well as traveled to other peoples homes to care for their pets. I am currently available between the hours of 7 am and 8 pm for dog walking and checking in on your home or stopping by for pet checks. Caring for your pet in your home is just as it would be in my own home. Your pet will be sure to have fresh clean water, bedding if they have any, regular feedings and lots of pets and play.

“Susie & Daniel are simply the best...this time they REALLY saved our bacon. They literally came to the rescue...late at night. We had left our two dogs at home with a new housesitter...and there was a big issue with the sitter and we had to call Susie & Daniel late in the evening...and they came to the rescue while we were completely across the country. We could not be more appreciative of their services and their kind, loving care for our dogs. They went above and beyond.”
“Hannah was amazing! We had her house sit our home with our two pups while we were away. She was everything you could ask for in a Rover, and more. She was extremely communicative during the whole process, and our pups, who can be rascals, were always happy when she arrived. Hannah met with us before our trip to understand what we were looking for in terms of updates, and what was needed by each pup (one older dog and one hyperactive younger dog). On top of the great service she provided, she even went above and beyond expectations when we had an issue with our keyless deadbolt. Honestly we were blown away with her dilligence to still gain access to the house to make sure our pups were taken care of. We will certainly be reaching out to Hannah if we have any future needs to care for our furry family members.”

“Erin was awesome!! She was quick with responding, provided pictures and updates of Max while we were gone and had a great fenced yard that Max loved 😃. Will definitely use her again!!”

“Alyssa and Natisha have watched my dogs over long weekends and I never worry when I have to go out of town. They are on time and send lots of photos along with updates!”

About: Hi, I am an online college student who also works part-time. Rover is the perfect fit for me because animals have always been a huge part of my life. I grew up with a dog, two cats, and even a turtle, so I’m comfortable caring for all kinds of pets and personalities — even the pet that “hates everyone” usually warms up to me! I treat every pet like family and make sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. I’m experienced with giving medications, following special care instructions, and caring for additional pets like lizards, gerbils, or snakes as an add-on. I know how important trust is when leaving your pets with someone, and I’ll make sure they get plenty of attention, care, updates, and pictures while you’re gone. (My first bio underneath this one won’t delete haha) I am an online college student with lots of free time and need some spending money. Playing with pets will give me a good break from studying. I have a fenced in yard, but would prefer care in clients home as well as out in nature. If your pet is cat friendly in home is possible.

About: I’ve grown up caring for both cats and dogs since I was young and have over 10 years of pet care experience through my own pets as well as helping family, friends, and clients. I have experience with both short-term and long-term pet care and am comfortable caring for pets of different ages, sizes, personalities, and energy levels. I provide feeding, walks, playtime, companionship, litter box care, maintaining routines, and making sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while their owners are away. I treat every pet like they’re part of the family and enjoy getting to know each pet’s unique personality. I’m a graduate student and work part-time, so pet sitting fits naturally into my routine and I make time to give pets consistent care and attention. I’m available for scheduled visits, walks, drop-ins, house sitting, and flexible care depending on the day. I enjoy staying active and making sure pets get exercise, playtime, companionship, and updates while their owners are away. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine are my top priorities. I take time to learn each pet’s personality, feeding schedule, exercise needs, and any special instructions so they feel comfortable and cared for. I provide attentive supervision, regular walks and play, lots of affection, and updates with photos so you can feel confident while you’re away. I’m respectful of clients’ homes and aim to keep pets on their normal routine as much as possible.
About: I’ve always owned dogs and goats/chickens all my life and helped raise/deliver new litters of puppies. I love hanging out and taking care of dogs and am mainly doing this so I can spend more time with them since I am no longer living at home with my own. I am currently working Sunday through Thursday until 5. I am willing to walk or take care of dogs after my work days end but would also love to do it on weekends. I can take your dogs on walks multiple times a day on weekends if needed but am also more the willing to spend time with them and play throughout the day as well.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Horseshoe Bend walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Horseshoe Bend maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Horseshoe Bend choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
