We left our 4 dogs, cat, 4 parrots, cockatiel, 2 snakes, turkey, chicken and ducks (and newly hatched baby ducks) for almost a full two weeks in the loving care of these two amazing ladies! We got photos, updates, and a carefree vacation..and the animals got just as much (if not more) love than they do on the daily! We HIGHLY recommend these two for pet/house sitting!! We will definitely be using them for all our needs. Worth every cent!

Hannah is heaven sent. Our dog got into a scape thru our fence with a neighbors dog and Hannah handled it all so well. She contacted us immediately and took great care of our dog until we got home. As upsetting as it was, she was calm and respectful. Thank you Hannah! As my husband as said more than once, “Hannah is our girl.”

We needed a sitter very last minute and Wendy saved the day! She came quickly, got the instruction run down and spent her time very intentionally with him. She left our house in great condition, set our boy up for success and even let's some entertainment for him until we got home. Great experience. Highly recommend!

Monique truly went above and beyond expectations! Our dog Penny is very leary of new people, and Monique persevered and totally won her over. Penny was very happy and well cared for, plus we came home to a clean house. I would unequivocally recommend Monique, and she will be first on our list next time we need a doggie sitter. Thank you Monique!

Kristi was the very best animal sitter we have ever had!!! Kristi watched our two dogs, (one elderly and the other a 10 month lab), our two cats and seven chickens for 2 weeks. At our meet and greet Kristi came in and instead of sitting on the couch, she sat our floor to be at our dogs level. As she told us about herself she showed constant attentiveness to our furry animals giving lots of pets and snuggles. Kristi is a great mix of calm, confident, intuitive and intelligent. She’s very good at her attention to detail as our animals require a little more maintenance being on a raw food diet. While we were away we received almost daily updates on how the animals were doing with cute stories and pictures. Our kitties whom rarely sleep with us, found comfort sleeping beside her which says a lot! We had a bad experience before with a different animal sitter which you think would make us feel uneasy being away for so long, but honestly we never worried when Kristi was there. We KNEW our home and animals were in the best care. After we returned home I had neighbors calling me with how impressed they were telling me how they always saw her walking our pups (even when it was super cold outside). We feel like we found a gem and feel so lucky to have found Kristi. Without a doubt I highly recommend her!

Candy is lovely, great with our older dogs and young cat, and she followed our overly indulgent care instructions for our spoiled girls to a tee. Our apartment was immaculate when we returned, which isn’t easy with 2 dogs and a cat. We have already asked her for another booking, so we’d obviously recommend her.

About: I’ve taken care of my own dog for years. As well as house sat for a friend who owns a farm, caring for her numerous animals. Hi! I currently work at 9 AM to 5 PM job and can make it home around 12 PM to 1 PM for a lunch break to take the dog to the bathroom and/or a walk. This would make it so the dog will go 4 hours between potty breaks. I have full availability on the weekends. I have a beautiful fenced in backyard with plenty of space for a dog to run around safely. We board dogs often and have puppy proofed it for safety.

We were a little nervous about leaving our two spoiled pups with someone new but Sami absolutely exceeded every expectation! This is her first time watching our dogs, and she took such wonderful care of them. She cuddled them, played with them, let Eden stay outside as long as she wanted, which is her favorite thing in the world and spoiled them exactly the way we do. We came home to happy, relaxed, and well loved dogs. You could tell they felt comfortable and cared for the entire time. Sami is thoughtful, communicative, and clearly a true dog lover. We felt completely knowing they were in such good hands. We will definitely be booking her again for future trips! Thank you so much for giving our furry kids the best weekend ever! Highly highly recommend.❤️

About: Hi, I'm Jaclyn! I'm 26 years old and recently relocated from Maryland to the area. I'm excited to meet new clients and their pets while building my local Rover community. I'm currently in the process of adding reviews from my previous clients, so while my profile is still growing, I'd be happy to provide more information about my experience during our meet-and-greet. As a detail-oriented and dependable pet sitter, I believe in providing exceptional care not only for your pets but also for your home. While house sitting, I'm happy to keep your home tidy and make sure everything is just as you left it. I offer a complimentary meet-and-greet before booking so we can get to know each other, answer any questions, and review your pet's routine. My goal is to ensure both you and your pets feel comfortable and confident before committing to any services. I have experience administering medications, following detailed care instructions, and working with pets that have busy routines or special needs. My services include, in your home: -Overnight house sitting -Drop-in visits -Daily dog walks -Extended "happy visits" at a discounted rate for pets who benefit from extra companionship or a gradual introduction before longer stays -In-home baths and nail trims upon request Experience & Qualifications: -Bachelor's degree in Animal Science from Penn State University -Professional pet sitter with over 10 years of experience -Force-free dog trainer specializing in positive reinforcement and clicker training -Service dog training experience -Animal shelter and kennel experience -Former foster volunteer with 11+ years of animal rescue and shelter experience -Chair Leader of a Small & Exotic Animal Club -Experience caring for a wide variety of animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, reptiles, and other pets! -Completed animal behavior and canine body language certification courses One area that truly sets me apart is my understanding of animal behavior and body language. I have experience working with nervous, fearful, and reactive dogs/cats, and I always prioritize building trust at their pace. I use low-stress, force-free handling techniques to create positive experiences and help pets feel safe and comfortable while you're away. I understand that every pet is unique, and I strive to provide personalized care that matches their individual personality and routine. I look forward to meeting you and your furry (or feathered, scaled, etc!) family members and providing them with the same love and attention they receive from you. I am currently looking for full-time work, but when I do overnights, I stay there every night after work, and in the past, I have been able to come during my work shift to do potty breaks, etc. I will update this as soon as I hear about employment. I come to the clients' home, and I come over beforehand to see everything. I prefer written instructions whenever it is possible for the owner to leave them.

About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life! I grew up with dogs and cats and have loved being around them for as long as I can remember. These days, I’m a proud dog mom to two bulldogs and a Bengal cat, so I’m very familiar with the different personalities, quirks, and routines that come with having pets. ❤️🐾 I truly believe pets are family, and when they’re in my care, I treat them like they’re my own. Whether your pup wants to play, go for a walk, get some extra belly rubs, or simply curl up next to someone, I’m happy to give them the attention and love they deserve. I’m dependable, patient, and attentive to each pet’s individual needs. I know how important it is to feel comfortable leaving your pets with someone you trust, and my goal is to make sure both you and your pets feel happy, safe, and cared for while you’re away. 🐶🐱💕 I am currently a stay at home mom while helping My husband with his business. I have a lot of availability and flexibility to make myself available for pretty much any times needed. I care for every pet as if they were my own! I like to follow their normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medications if needed, and plenty of love and attention. I know that pets are most comfortable when their routine stays familiar, so I make sure to follow their owner’s instructions and pay attention to their individual personality and needs. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I treat their home with the same care and respect I would want for my own. I keep things clean and tidy, make sure pets are safe and comfortable, and provide regular updates and photos so their owners know how they’re doing. My goal is for every pet to feel happy, loved, and comfortable while their family is away! 🐾❤️

About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and caring for them is something I genuinely love doing. I grew up with both cats and dogs, including my chocolate Lab, Tucker, who was my best friend for 16 wonderful years. Those experiences taught me that pets aren’t just animals—they’re family. Over the years, I’ve regularly cared for my family and friend’s dogs while they’ve been away on weekends and vacations, and I love spending quality time with every pet I meet. Whether it’s playtime, walks, cuddles, or simply keeping them company, my goal is always to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I currently have a French Bulldog named Hootie, who means the world to me. I work from home, so I’m with him throughout the day, and caring for him has also given me experience navigating medical needs and paying close attention to a dog’s health and routine. What sets me apart is that I care for every pet the way I would want someone to care for my own. I know how important it is to maintain their routines, respect each owner’s preferences, and make sure every pet feels like they’re with family while you’re away. I treat every animal with the same love, patience, and attention I’d give Hootie. Pet care fits naturally into my schedule because I work from home and have the flexibility to adjust my day as needed. I’m available for drop-in visits, walks, feeding, playtime, and companionship during the week and on weekends. I’m also happy to provide overnight care or stay in your home while you’re out of town for a weekend or longer trip. I know how important it is for pets to keep their normal routine, so I’ll do my best to make sure they feel comfortable, loved, and well cared for while you’re away. Whether your pet needs a quick walk, a midday check-in, or someone to keep them company for an extended stay, I’m excited to help and provide dependable care you can trust. When caring for pets in a client’s home, my goal is to keep their routine as normal as possible. I’ll follow your instructions closely—from feeding schedules and walks to medications, playtime, and bedtime routines—because I know consistency helps pets feel safe and comfortable while you’re away. I’ll make sure your pet gets plenty of attention, exercise, affection, and companionship based on their personality and needs. Whether they love long walks, playing fetch, or just relaxing on the couch for cuddles, I’m happy to give them the care they enjoy most. I also understand that trust is just as important as pet care. I’ll treat your home with respect, keep everything clean and secure, and send regular updates with photos so you can relax knowing your pet is happy, loved, and in good hands.

FAQs for House Sitting - Horseshoe Bend

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Horseshoe Bend on Rover is $42.78 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 868 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Horseshoe Bend. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Horseshoe Bend walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Horseshoe Bend maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Horseshoe Bend choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Horseshoe Bend. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
