About: I have extensive hands-on experience caring for animals in both personal and multi-pet home environments, including dogs of all ages, temperaments, and medical needs. I’m comfortable with routine care such as feeding, walking, administering medications, and maintaining structured daily schedules. I also have experience supporting senior pets and animals with ongoing health conditions, including those requiring consistent medication timing and close monitoring. I understand that every pet has their own personality and comfort level, so I prioritize patience, routine, and clear communication to help animals feel safe and settled while their owners are away. I pay close attention to behavior changes, stress signals, and individual triggers, and adjust care accordingly. I treat every pet as if they are my own and aim to provide consistent, calm, and reliable care that reduces stress for both pets and owners. Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine and I’m able to provide consistent availability around my work schedule. I work in Meridian Monday through Thursday, but I can accommodate early morning drop-ins before work as well as afternoon care visits after I’m off for the day. On Fridays, I work from home, which gives me much more flexibility for scheduling visits throughout the day. I’m also fully available on weekends, making it easy to provide more frequent check-ins, longer visits, or added flexibility as needed. Overall, my schedule allows me to be reliable and consistent during the week while offering expanded availability and responsiveness on Fridays and weekends. I provide care exclusively in my clients’ homes to ensure pets stay comfortable in their familiar environment and maintain their normal routine with minimal disruption. During visits, I follow all owner instructions closely, including feeding schedules, fresh water, litter box or potty breaks, medication administration if needed, and any specific care routines. I also spend time engaging with pets through play, companionship, and calm interaction based on their personality and comfort level. I pay close attention to each pet’s behavior and wellbeing during every visit and will provide updates and photos so you can feel confident they are safe, cared for, and doing well while you’re away.
“Kayla had excellent communication before, during, and at the end of our booking. She stayed in our home and watched our two dogs and they were super happy when we got home. We will definitely be booking with her again!”

“Danny did an amazing job taking care of our fur babies. We have two large Irish Wolfhounds and two pampered cats. He did not shy away from the challenge. The dogs loved him and enjoyed their long walks. Danny was great with communication… asked questions I didn’t even think about before we went out of town and communicated regularly with us with any questions that came up. Highly recommend him.”

“I cannot recommend Nikki and Britney highly enough! We traveled for the first time in years and needed someone who can manage caring for two dogs that require a little extra care. We were so nervous to leave them but were quickly put at ease. They communicated regularly and sent tons of pictures for us! They respond quickly to messages and took extra good care of our house. If I could rate Nikki and Brittney higher I would! I will absolutely book with them again. Thank you for taking such good care of Lilly, Coco, and Big Bear while we were gone!”

About: I’ve taken care of my own dog for years. As well as house sat for a friend who owns a farm, caring for her numerous animals. Hi! I currently work at 9 AM to 5 PM job and can make it home around 12 PM to 1 PM for a lunch break to take the dog to the bathroom and/or a walk. This would make it so the dog will go 4 hours between potty breaks. I have full availability on the weekends. I have a beautiful fenced in backyard with plenty of space for a dog to run around safely. We board dogs often and have puppy proofed it for safety.
“Kimberly was responsive and communicative. My husband and I have not left Buddha overnight with someone he didn’t know and he did great. Kimberly made is all feel comfortable and my husband and I were able to enjoy a night away knowing our baby was in great hands. Definitely will be using Kimberly again.”

“Gunner was wonderful with our Newfoundland- Abby, and our cat-Wendy. He stayed in our home for 9 days, it was neat and tidy when we got back. He walked Abby daily and he kept us up to date with daily messages and pictures. Would highly recommend.”

“Ashley was pretty much the best house sitter i have had in a very long time. My cat was very well taken care of, she sent plenty of updates, kept my home in good order and even left me a thank you card and drew a picture of my cat by hand for me :) Will be using her again!!!”

“Erin was awesome!! She was quick with responding, provided pictures and updates of Max while we were gone and had a great fenced yard that Max loved 😃. Will definitely use her again!!”

“Chenaniah was great! She played a lot with our pup and made sure to send us photos. I would highly recommend her! Plus our house was so clean when we got home so that was awesome! 🩷”

“Kristi watched our two dogs while we went out of town for two nights. She is by far the best dog sitter we have ever used with Rover or privately. You can tell right away she loves the dogs. When we came back it was apparent they missed her after she left. What more could one say when your own dogs misses her! If you want a worry free time away from your dogs she is the sitter for you!! Also her response with texts & pictures were fantastic.”

About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and caring for them is something I genuinely love doing. I grew up with both cats and dogs, including my chocolate Lab, Tucker, who was my best friend for 16 wonderful years. Those experiences taught me that pets aren’t just animals—they’re family. Over the years, I’ve regularly cared for my family and friend’s dogs while they’ve been away on weekends and vacations, and I love spending quality time with every pet I meet. Whether it’s playtime, walks, cuddles, or simply keeping them company, my goal is always to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I currently have a French Bulldog named Hootie, who means the world to me. I work from home, so I’m with him throughout the day, and caring for him has also given me experience navigating medical needs and paying close attention to a dog’s health and routine. What sets me apart is that I care for every pet the way I would want someone to care for my own. I know how important it is to maintain their routines, respect each owner’s preferences, and make sure every pet feels like they’re with family while you’re away. I treat every animal with the same love, patience, and attention I’d give Hootie. Pet care fits naturally into my schedule because I work from home and have the flexibility to adjust my day as needed. I’m available for drop-in visits, walks, feeding, playtime, and companionship during the week and on weekends. I’m also happy to provide overnight care or stay in your home while you’re out of town for a weekend or longer trip. I know how important it is for pets to keep their normal routine, so I’ll do my best to make sure they feel comfortable, loved, and well cared for while you’re away. Whether your pet needs a quick walk, a midday check-in, or someone to keep them company for an extended stay, I’m excited to help and provide dependable care you can trust. When caring for pets in a client’s home, my goal is to keep their routine as normal as possible. I’ll follow your instructions closely—from feeding schedules and walks to medications, playtime, and bedtime routines—because I know consistency helps pets feel safe and comfortable while you’re away. I’ll make sure your pet gets plenty of attention, exercise, affection, and companionship based on their personality and needs. Whether they love long walks, playing fetch, or just relaxing on the couch for cuddles, I’m happy to give them the care they enjoy most. I also understand that trust is just as important as pet care. I’ll treat your home with respect, keep everything clean and secure, and send regular updates with photos so you can relax knowing your pet is happy, loved, and in good hands.

“Susie watched my dog while I was out of town for Christmas and she did such a great job!! It was such a relief to be able to enjoy my time away and know that my dog was in good hands.”

“We normally have family or a close friend to watch Logan but this time neither were available for trip we were taking. Initially it looked like I may have to stay home because I wasn’t going to leave him with someone I didn’t know or trust. Then I came across Candy’s profile and felt like she would be a good fit for us and Logan and was happy that she felt the same. Since she had never met Logan and would be staying with him for 8 days, we asked her to come over and walk him a few times prior to the day we left. I went over a lot of information with her, some of it because I’m overprotective and some of it because of his health issues. She took it all in stride and asked questions if she had concerns. She sent me pics everyday and let me know when he had tummy issues one day which thankfully turned out to be nothing. When we got home last night, Logan was excited to see us but when about things as normal, which tells me he felt at ease while we were gone. I highly recommend Candy. Had it not been for her, I would’ve either stayed home or been a wreck the entire week. We will definitely use her again for Logan. Thank you, Candy.”

About: I am a veterinary assistant and have worked and surrounded myself with animals my whole life. I’ve volunteered at animal shelters, worked with vets, and was a dog handler and a doggie daycare over the past few summer years. I have experience with cat, dogs, fish, rodents, reptiles, and more. I love hiking and spending time outside as well, so hikes with dogs are more than welcome! I recently moved to Boise and am excited to get to know the area, so taking your dog on walks is the perfect excuse for me to explore ;) I work Monday-Friday from 8am to 5pm so i before and after my shift I can take care of your furry, scaly or slimy friends! I also don’t work weekends at all so my availability is wide open! When working with animals in their own homes, I think it’s important to understand you’re coming into their space and to work slowly to earn their trust! I have worked with many different animals and know how to read body language, so if your pet is uncomfortable I know how to work with them and listen to their needs.
“Absolutely Superb! I'm extremely pleased with Davalyn, she did just what she told me she would do while I was away. My dogs seemed to love her and and she did them also. I will book again when our schedules align. Very Professional! Thank you Davalyn!”

“Lana was very good with my difficult dogs. I have 2 German Shorthair pups and a very old and sick lab. I would have cancelled my trip but had already paid for everything. Annie is unable to walk on her own and getting close to the end. Lana was both compassionate to Annie and patient with the two crazy puppies. She also fed my llamas and started a fire in the fireplace for our return. Its very hard to go into a strangers home and care for spoiled dogs. I'm very happy with the experiences I've had using Rover.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 947 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Black Canyon. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Black Canyon walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Black Canyon maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Black Canyon choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Black Canyon. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
