“Aria took diligent care of our pup Ellie while we were both away on work trips. When Ellie wasn't feeling well Aria kept me up to date the whole time, which made me feel comfortable in what could otherwise be a very concerning situation. She even gave Ellie a bath when she rolled around in the mud! Thanks Aria for all your help 🙏”

About: I've cared for dogs since I was 11, caring for my childhood dog all the way to age 16. I have 4 year and counting working in the veterinary field. I'm comfortable caring for older and more medically complex friends if needed. I recently moved to Michigan from Maryland and am settling in to the new normal. I'm currently working part-time and Im very flexible and open through the week, especially holidays. I currently have two cats and a dog and I'm always happy to call another one part of my family. I hope, beyond providing for their basics, I'm able to get to know your pet.
“Sydney is a very personable lady. She listens well to instructions, and communicates with understanding, acceptance and flexibility. She was available last minute( same day) which was such a relief to us. We look forward to having her be our “go to person” when we need a pup sitter.”

“Candice was GREAT with our Stella She was very communicative, sent pictures of our happy girl, house was spotless when we returned. Will definitely be booking with her again!”

About: I have known dogs for about 8 years and worked at an animal kennel for 2 years, taking care of 2-month-old puppies to 17-year-old dogs. I know how to give oral and injected medicine, and have taken training classes for all ages of dogs I am currently shadowing at a Veterinary Clinic, but will always have nights to do overnight house sitting, and the day I don't work, I am available for day-care in your home, walking, and training Any house is sufficient for overnight pet sitting, daycare, or training. I don't need anything specific for any of these services, and the pets will be getting amazing and comfortable care.
About: I have been providing pet-sitting services since 2019 and have cared for a variety of dogs and cats. As a lifelong pet owner, I understand the importance of creating a safe, comfortable, and loving environment for every pet in my care. I currently share my home with a friendly Shih Tzu and a Burmese cat, giving me daily experience with both canine and feline needs. In addition to drop-in visits and pet sitting, I have boarded pets in my home and understand how to help them adjust to a new environment while maintaining their routines and reducing stress. My experience includes feeding, administering medications when needed, daily walks, playtime, companionship, overnight care, and providing regular updates to pet owners. I strive to treat every pet as if they were my own, ensuring they receive individualized attention, affection, and excellent care while their families are away. Whether your pet is energetic and playful or prefers a calm and quiet environment, I am committed to providing dependable, attentive, and compassionate care that gives both pets and owners peace of mind. I have a flexible schedule and do not work a traditional 9-to-5 job, which allows me to provide attentive care throughout the day. I am available for walks, feeding, playtime, potty breaks, and companionship, and I can often accommodate last-minute requests. Your pet will receive plenty of attention, supervision, and care while you are away. I treat every pet in my care as if they were my own. Before the stay, I take the time to learn about your pet’s routine, feeding schedule, exercise needs, favorite activities, and any special instructions. My goal is to provide a safe, comfortable, and stress-free experience while maintaining as much of their normal routine as possible. During their stay, your pet will receive plenty of attention, affection, exercise, and supervision. Dogs will enjoy regular walks, playtime, potty breaks, and companionship throughout the day. Cats will receive attentive care, enrichment, play, and a quiet, comfortable environment where they can feel secure. I understand that being away from home can be stressful for some pets, so I focus on creating a calm and loving atmosphere. I also provide regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is happy, safe, and well cared for.

“Maddy was really great at communicating and giving updates. She was very easy to work with and was great with Emma. This was our first time using rover and we were a little nervous but Maddy made it very easy and comfortable for us and we were able to have a great time with zero worries!”

“Alana was wonderful to work with! She was very responsive and communicative throughout the stay, sending daily updates and photos which gave us a lot of peace of mind. She took great care of our pets and helped them feel comfortable. She also left the house very clean, even doing more than we would’ve expected. She was also incredibly flexible when our travel plans changed due to flight issues. We’d definitely recommend her and would love to work with her again!”

About: I grew up on a farm and have always had pets. Cats, dogs and even a cow and chicken or two. I strongly believe our pets are family members just like our human family. I've had big and little dogs, and many different cats. My current little man is my best buddy he is spoiled and loved so much. He's 7 years old and loves other dogs to hang out with. He doesn't pay any attention to cats. I would love to care for your family member, giving you peace of mind that they will be well cared for and loved on while in my care. My availability is completely open, any day and time. I'm very flexible with dates and times, whether at your home or mine. Thank you for your time and I look forwars to hearing from you! I have a fenced in area for bathroom breaks and a large yard on a quiet country road to run and play in. I have space for a crate, I even have a very large one that can be used if necessary. Also have an almost two mile lane around our farm property to walk and run around. My home has plenty of space for exploring or just chilling out.
About: Though I’ve only had my own animals for 6 years, I’ve been taking care of dogs my entire life. I was our in-house dog trainer, teaching mine and my grandparents dogs how to sit, shake, speak, and stay before I was breaking double digits. I love all kinds of animals, and have cared for birds, rats, snakes, and turtles outside of just cats and dogs. I’ve only had huskies in my house, so I’m totally used to pets that shed and need to be brushed frequently. I would love to befriend and care for your pet while you’re exploring old places and new! I’m currently an online college student with open availability. I am pretty flexible and will do my best to work with you to accommodate yours and your pets needs! I am someone who loves the companionship of all animals. I will talk to your pets and give them all the love they need (or want, of course)!

“Kumar was amazing. Very young and took a huge responsibility of watching my babies for an emergency trip to Texas. He came even though I did not have a long time for the trip. Watched and took care of my art babies! Very much worth going on rover for. I could have kenneled them but they have anxiety. Boi, had the worst anxiety and constantly whines. But he had no issues and that gave me peace of mind and soul! If we ever need to go anywhere, he will be the first person I call thru rover! Thank you!”

“Heather was a delight to meet. She was responsive, sent several pet photos, and left an update note. she took Bijou on a couple of walks and played with the kitties. The house was in good shape and the pets seemed happy when I returned. I would definitely ask Heather to watch my furry kids again.”

FAQs for House Sitting - Hope
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 169 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Hope. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hope walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hope maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hope choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hope. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 90% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
