About: Though I’ve only had my own animals for 6 years, I’ve been taking care of dogs my entire life. I was our in-house dog trainer, teaching mine and my grandparents dogs how to sit, shake, speak, and stay before I was breaking double digits. I love all kinds of animals, and have cared for birds, rats, snakes, and turtles outside of just cats and dogs. I’ve only had huskies in my house, so I’m totally used to pets that shed and need to be brushed frequently. I would love to befriend and care for your pet while you’re exploring old places and new! I’m currently an online college student with open availability. I am pretty flexible and will do my best to work with you to accommodate yours and your pets needs! I am someone who loves the companionship of all animals. I will talk to your pets and give them all the love they need (or want, of course)!
About: Cats were my first pets. Dogs and cats are now my babies and a big part of my life! I have decades of experience with pets in animal shelter settings and in my own home. I can give insulin shots and other meds as needed. How can I help? I am a retiree who loves her two dogs and her cat, and I can't wait to love on yours! I am a part-time sitter with decades of experience with animals. My goal is to give others peace of mind when they have to be away from their pets short-term. Safety of your babies is my priority. I will make sure I understand their needs well in advance of my visit. Photos of your pets will be texted to you during my visit so you can see how they are doing in your absence.
“Aria took diligent care of our pup Ellie while we were both away on work trips. When Ellie wasn't feeling well Aria kept me up to date the whole time, which made me feel comfortable in what could otherwise be a very concerning situation. She even gave Ellie a bath when she rolled around in the mud! Thanks Aria for all your help 🙏”

“Both of our animals warmed right up to Candice as soon as she came in for our meet and greet. My dog usually barks at strangers but didn't this time. Candice was friendly and knowledgeable. We were able to leave our home for a few days feeling comfortable with the booking knowing our animals were in good hands. She also sent plenty of updates and photos and left our home cleaner than we left it.”

“Sydney was amazing! We felt very comfortable and confident that our dogs and home would be well taken care of as she house sat for us while we were away on vacation. We would definitely recommend her services and hope to have her back for future needs as well.”

“Kumar was amazing. Very young and took a huge responsibility of watching my babies for an emergency trip to Texas. He came even though I did not have a long time for the trip. Watched and took care of my art babies! Very much worth going on rover for. I could have kenneled them but they have anxiety. Boi, had the worst anxiety and constantly whines. But he had no issues and that gave me peace of mind and soul! If we ever need to go anywhere, he will be the first person I call thru rover! Thank you!”

“Elise was fantastic with our 2 dogs and would highly recommend her. Very prompt on time and also in responding to questions and great with sending you updates while you are away. Lucky to have found her to assist with our dogs while traveling.”

“Alana was wonderful to work with! She was very responsive and communicative throughout the stay, sending daily updates and photos which gave us a lot of peace of mind. She took great care of our pets and helped them feel comfortable. She also left the house very clean, even doing more than we would’ve expected. She was also incredibly flexible when our travel plans changed due to flight issues. We’d definitely recommend her and would love to work with her again!”

“Madeline was amazing with Charlie and took great care of our house while we were gone. Even when Charlie got sick, she immediately let us know and provided updates to reassure us he was ok.”

About: I have been caring for a wide variety of animals my whole life, from cats to horses to dogs of all sizes! Large breeds are my specialty, as I have grown up around Great Danes, Saint Bernards, and Newfoundlands my entire life, and feel very comfortable handling them. I have cared for many senior and small breed dogs as well, so your pets will receive the upmost care no matter the age or size! I love working with as many unique personalities and animals as I possibly can, and will work tirelessly to make sure they receive the care they need. My schedule is often very open, especially during the summer when classes are out, so I will communicate well to work around YOUR schedule! I will do what it takes to get your pets the care they need when they need it. Safety is priority number one when it comes to caring for pets, for both me and the animals. I am sure to follow whatever instructions are given to me to the strictest degree so you don't have to worry about your pets safety while you're away. When going for walks I always maintain firm a firm hold on the leash, even with bigger dogs. I have been walking with large breeds such as Saint Bernards and Great Danes for over a decade, so I feel very comfortable remaining in control. I always carry pepper spray with me as well, just as an absolute last resort in the very rare chance that anything would happen.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Beaverton walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Beaverton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Beaverton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
