About: I am currently in Traverse City, Michigan. I spend a lot of time between here and Phoenix. I can do last minute sits or drop ins. If you book ahead of time, I can usually work my schedule around where I am. I have lots of time to walk and love on your pets. Very reliable and able to care for your home as well. Last minute sittings or walks are welcome. I will love and treat your pets as if they are my own. I have mostly done pet and house sitting through Trusted Housesitters. I can get you my reviews from there if you would like further reviews about me. They are all 5 stars. I love taking care of all pets. I have watched big dogs, little dogs, rats and cats and hairless cats. My calendar can change by the minute. Once I commit to you, I will commit to my time with your pet when you book me. I am a flight attendant with lots of time on my hands. My schedule is flexible and I can do a last minute walk or plan ahead for a long sit. I will leave my schedule as booked and open it when I get back from my flight. I am great for last minute sits or if you know ahead of time, I can usually book far in advance and work my flight schedule around you. I mostly work out of the Phoenix area and Traverse City, Michigan. If coming to your home, I ask for a detailed list of your preferences. I will follow and respect you and your pets needs. I am physically fit and love would love to walk your pup or take them for a hike if they are able. I am a flight attendant so I have had an extensive background check. I get random checked for drugs and alcohol. I am very respectful of your rules and space and I am very kind and loving to animals.
“I was very anxious to leave my dogs for a long weekend, but Amber was EXCEPTIONAL! She put my mind at ease before I even left town with promises of pictures and constant communication, which she delivered on. I am so pleased with our experience with Amber she treated our fur babies like they were her own. We will definitely be booking with her again!”

About: I’ve cared for dogs for over 20 years and currently share my home with multiple of my own. From tiny terriers to giant mastiffs, energetic puppies to senior and anxious dogs, I’ve handled it all, including medications and special routines. I love getting dogs outdoors on trails and walks, and my flexible schedule means I’m reliable when you need me. Dogs are a daily part of my life, so pet care isn’t an add-on. I am an elementary special education assistant for TCAPS during the school year, so I have a very flexible schedule in the summer, which means I can fit walks and drop-ins around whatever works best for you. I treat every dog like one of my own. At home, mine like to stick to a routine of regular walks, outdoor play, and consistent feeding. In a client’s home, I follow your instructions closely, keep your dog’s schedule steady, handle any meds or special needs carefully, and give them the affection and exercise they need. I’m respectful of your home and always keep you updated.
About: I have had pets of my own for the past 38 years, since I was 12 years old. I also have a degree in biology and chemistry and have worked in animal hospitals and zoos. My husband, Scott, has had pets all his life. We treat our pets with the love and care that family members deserve, and we take our responsibility to them very seriously. Currently, we have a 2 year old black lab who absolutely loves all other animals, and a 14 year old cat who mostly sleeps in quiet, dark places. Our dog, Rosie, is always looking for new friends and is very submissive with them. She just wants to play and snuggle! Our children are grown and help with the care of them. Our house is full of pet lovers! We are very active and love to go for hikes, and we always keep dogs on their leash on the trails. We're happy to take your doggy to the dog park, as well, if you request it. You can have total peace of mind while your pup stays with us! I currently work part time and Scott, my husband, is a teacher and has summers off. I'm home a lot during the entire year, and we're both home on weekends. We have a fenced in backyard for running around and playing fetch. We have a large house and a fenced in yard where our dog, Rosie, loves to run around or playing fetch with us. We regularly go for walks in the neighborhood and hikes in the woods or on the beach. We love to take Rosie to the dog park, but will skip it if you're not comfortable with it. Scott is a teacher and has weekends and all summer free. Stephanie works part time, mostly from home and is at home most of the time during the week and is also available weekends. We have a large fenced yard and a wonderful Labrador retriever to keep your fur baby happy! We love giving dogs love and attention! We also love to take walks if that is something your dog enjoys.
“Kris was wonderful! Our 2 Corgis seemed to love having him stay with them, and were very happy to see us when we got home. They seemed excited but not anxious or clingy when we got back, which means they had a great time. Communication was good, got some photos and updates, and Kris answered any questions we had about how they were doing very openly. Our cat also opened up to him and bonded with him which is bonus! Would definitely recommend he watch your kiddos 😎”

“This is the second time Michelle has stayed with our two pups and we came home to two happy, well-cared for pets and a spotless home. It is very nice to have a dependable sitter and sets my mind at ease while away from home!”

“Maria was so sensitive and wonderful and aware of our animals needs! She took great care in making sure our English bulldog had everything he needed, all his medications and extra love and affection! She also took amazing care of our cat- she is truly the most perfectly well-rounded house and pet sitter, and had great communications with questions and updates all through her stay! If your pet is like your child, she is a perfect fit. We can’t wait to book Maria again!”

“Marg was great with my two dogs while we were out of town for a weekend with family. She was communicative and sent me a few photos and updates throughout the weekend. I could tell the boys felt comfortable with her! Thanks again, Marg.”

“Noah was awesome! Our dog, Stirling, was in good hands with daily updates & photos and Noah treated our home with care as well. We arrived home to a happy dog and a clean house. 😊 We will definitely being contacting Noah again when we travel.”

“Patty is a great house/dog sitter! She stayed our home w our German Shepherd Roxie for 3 days and nights. Every detail was perfect and we came home to a happy Dog and happy house. Thank you Patty”

“When we had a family funeral across the state and our regular Rover overnight person was out of town Jill came to our rescue. Jill gladly rearranged her weekend schedule and was able to stay overnight with Sadie at our house. She and Sadie have bonded well in the past few months and we have 100% confidence in Jill. ”

“Lorretta treated our lab, Sophie, like a queen! She enjoyed lots of walks and snuggles! We were kept up to date on all their adventures which was wonderful. We will definitely have Lorreta come back and stay with Sophie in the future.”

“This was the first time I have ever employed a Pet service to care for my pet. At the Meet and Greet, my dog, Coco, warmed up to Audriss immediately. I knew then that she would take care of Coco with kindness, patience, and attentiveness otherwise Coco would be off-standish. I wasn't wrong. Audriss presents herself very well. I could assess that she is knowledgeable about pet care and cares about the pets she is caring for. Her communication with me was perfect. Her responses were timely. She was respectful of the place I was staying at which I appreciated. I will use Audriss's pet service again when I am vacationing in Glen Arbor. I highly recommend her to care for your pet(s).”

“We love having Jordan stay with our dog. She takes great care of him and sends us the cutest picture updates. She always takes great care of our home as well which is so nice to come home to.”

“We couldn’t have been more pleased with our experience with Natalie. It was our first time booking through Rover so we were a little nervous, but Natalie’s strong consistent communication and clear experience dog/housesitting put us at ease. The daily pictures and updates gave us piece of mind on our trip away, and we came home to a clean house and a very happy puppy!”

“Sydney was INCREDIBLE! 🙌🧡 Ollie is not always the easiest dog but right from the beginning Sydney was so good and patient with him, and by the end of the stay they looked like they were best buds. Sydney not only took care of our dog but she was a real trooper and cared for a large flock of chickens as well. Sydney’s communication was top notch. We received photos and updates everyday of very happy animals. Sydney really went out of her way to make this stay happen. We were asking quite a lot of her with this being last-minute, coordinating with her work schedule, extra pet needs, and handling communication, and she went above and beyond. We are so so grateful for her and hope she can watch our animals again!”

“Vesta took great care of our and cats at our home. She sent photos of all of them and kept us updated when she arrived and left. It was awesome that she came to meet them before the booking so we knew they’d be comfortable with her. Pepperoni thanks you for the couch snuggles, Vesta!”

We had an optimum experience with Steph. She gave wonderful care to our 3 pets, asked questions I hadn’t even thought of, and was very thorough in following instructions. She housesat for us for 4 days and left the house spotless. She sent updates and pics several times a day, so we felt so secure and pleased with the care she was giving to our pets. We would not hesitate to hire Steph again next time we need a sitter. She is a very sweet, thoughtful, and capable young lady and went above and beyond our expectations. We give her 10 stars!

The average cost for House Sitting in Honor on Rover is $49.95 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Honor walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Honor maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Honor choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
