“Kathryn really got me out of a bind as she was able to walk Maggie twice on short notice. She made sure that I was comfortable with her by taking time to come over and meet the day before. She kept me updated with pictures and I can’t recommend her enough.”

“Kara was amazing when I needed a last minute dog walker. She came everyday on time and communicated when she picked Moose up and dropped him off. She even wrote notes about the walk! I could not have found a better/sweeter friend for Moose that week! Thank you Kara!”

“So sweet we originally booked her for the weekend that ended up not needing her and she was so understanding and flexible. Very good at communications and responsive. Sent photos too! 10 out of 10 would use her again”

About: I am experienced walking and taking care of many different breeds, including a Weimaraner, Husky, German Shorthaired Pointer, Corgi, and a Chihuahua. I have also house sat for dogs, cats, and rabbits. One of the dogs I've watched had a history of seizures, so I learned how to administer their daily medication. I'm very punctual and I love animals. I've walked dogs in a lot of different weather conditions, and have no problem walking your dog regardless of what weather Michigan decides to throw at everyone. I look forward to getting some valuable time outdoors, and getting to take care of some adorable animals. I have a fairly open schedule and will do my best to accommodate clients. I am available to work early, late, and overnight as needed. I will take care of pets in their home so that they can be the most comfortable. I will follow the schedule for walks and food that their owner provides.

“Katherine was very responsive, listened to the instructions perfectly and made me feel that my sweet baby was well cared for with her visit !! She also sent pictures, which was such a treat to see my baby happy when I’m at work!”

“Michelle was great with our 1 year old terrier. We loved the pictures and the updates on when he was going out and coming back from his walk. The meet-and-greet we had a couple of days ahead of time worked out great as well and we appreciated that to ensure everything would go smoothly. We look forward to having her walk our dog in the future! Top-notch!”

“I put in a last-minute request for a walk, and Charles responded right away. He was prompt and polite, and it was immediately obvious that Charles is experienced with dogs. He has a gentle manner and way of speaking - my dogs took to him immediately. He sent me updates throughout the walk and even spent extra time with them. They liked him so much they tried to get in his car! As a Rover sitter myself and as someone that has used other Rover sitters, I know how hard finding a trusted sitter can be, but Charles put my worries to rest. I highly recommend Charles, and I will definitely be using him again.”

About: I’m more than a dog sitter 😁 if you want someone who will play, walk, and entertain your dog, you’ve found your match! I’m the dog mom who does everything with her dogs. I have 3of my own large breed dogs, and fostered 12 others with my husband and enjoyed every moment of it! Most of them were under the age of 1 year old, so we did all the potty training, crate training, and basic commands. I exposed them to different environments, other dogs, and taught them a lot during their time with us which was anywhere from a month to 4 months. I’m reliable and really intentional about the care of animals. I love my dogs as if they were my kids and I’d treat yours with the same care! I have a full time job, but can work from home some days. I dog sit because I love it and I know how important it is to find someone who will make my dogs feel safe and happy. I intend to do that for those I serve 😊🐶 Note: I generally do not accept requests for house sitting over 4 nights at a time. I love routine and know how animals can thrive in that even when their humans are gone. So I would be happy to keep consistency for your pet if that means being let out at certain times or walked before you get home etc. For doggy daycare: I have a fenced yard and 3 of my own fur babies who love to play with other dogs! I also have a separate gated area in my home if there needs to be separation at times. For House Sitting: (I won’t accept requests over 4 nights). I will follow the owners preferences and safety measures they have in place. I also recommend meet and greets so I understand how you expect things done/handled.
About: ’ve had hands-on experience caring for animals for many years. Since around age 12, I’ve regularly helped care for pets belonging to friends, family, and neighbors. During that time I’ve provided feeding, walking, bathing, pet sitting, playtime, and general daily care. I also have experience helping with basic training and working with dogs who were preparing for adoption, which helped me learn how to work with different personalities, energy levels, and comfort needs. Most recently, I’ve been volunteering at a local animal shelter for over 4 months. In this role, I assist with a variety of responsibilities including walking dogs, bathing, playtime and enrichment, administering medications when needed, transporting animals, and helping with overall animal care at the shelter. Working with animals in both home and shelter environments has given me experience with pets of different temperaments, and I always focus on making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for. I truly enjoy spending time with animals and making sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while their owners are away. I treat every pet as if they were my own and always do my best to provide reliable, attentive care. If you’re looking for someone dependable who genuinely cares about animals, I’d love the opportunity to meet you and your pet! I’m currently in an on call sort of situation, so my schedule is very flexible! I ask that we at least get a few days advance notice due to a fluctuating schedule. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, personality, and any special needs so I can provide care that feels familiar and stress-free for them. Through my experience caring for pets and volunteering at a local animal shelter, I’ve worked with animals of many different temperaments and understand the importance of patience, awareness, and safe handling. I always make sure pets are secure on walks, monitored during playtime, and given plenty of attention and care. I’m also happy to follow any specific instructions you have for feeding, medications, routines, or training. I believe communication is very important, so I’m glad to send updates and photos so you can feel confident that your pet is happy and well cared for while you’re away.
About: I have had pets of my own for the past 38 years, since I was 12 years old. I also have a degree in biology and chemistry and have worked in animal hospitals and zoos. My husband, Scott, has had pets all his life. We treat our pets with the love and care that family members deserve, and we take our responsibility to them very seriously. Currently, we have a 2 year old black lab who absolutely loves all other animals, and a 14 year old cat who mostly sleeps in quiet, dark places. Our dog, Rosie, is always looking for new friends and is very submissive with them. She just wants to play and snuggle! Our children are grown and help with the care of them. Our house is full of pet lovers! We are very active and love to go for hikes, and we always keep dogs on their leash on the trails. We're happy to take your doggy to the dog park, as well, if you request it. You can have total peace of mind while your pup stays with us! I currently work part time and Scott, my husband, is a teacher and has summers off. I'm home a lot during the entire year, and we're both home on weekends. We have a fenced in backyard for running around and playing fetch. We have a large house and a fenced in yard where our dog, Rosie, loves to run around or playing fetch with us. We regularly go for walks in the neighborhood and hikes in the woods or on the beach. We love to take Rosie to the dog park, but will skip it if you're not comfortable with it. Scott is a teacher and has weekends and all summer free. Stephanie works part time, mostly from home and is at home most of the time during the week and is also available weekends. We have a large fenced yard and a wonderful Labrador retriever to keep your fur baby happy! We love giving dogs love and attention! We also love to take walks if that is something your dog enjoys.

About: With 16 years of trusted experience, I’ve been the go-to pet sitter for friends, family, and neighbors; including animals with medical needs or disabilities. Whether your pet is big, small, young, senior, or special-needs, I’ll care for them like family, because that’s what they are. I work full-time remote, which gives me the flexibility to offer reliable, attentive pet care throughout the day. I’m able to tailor my schedule to meet your pet’s unique needs, whether that means mid-day walks, medication, or extra snuggles. While I’m unable to offer care in my own home, I’m more than happy to stay in yours, the bonus being your pet stays comfortable in their own space! I’m clean, respectful, and treat your home as if it were my own. My goal is for you to return home feeling like you never left, except your pet is happy and cared for.
About: I have helped owners with dog sitting/walking in the Traverse City area. Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
