“So happy to have found Kathryn. She lives close by and is a delightful and kind person who clearly loves animals (and our dogs loved her). She promptly responded to our messages and was easy to communicate with, and she gave us feedback following her home visits without us asking. We would highly recommend her.”

“Steph took care of our 3 workshop cats for 9 days. She was reliable and communicated very well. She was very kind and did a great job! Will definitely hire her again if she will have us!”

“Kara has watched our cat, Cleo twice now. She always shows up on time to feed her. Kara also leaves nice notes about how she’s doing and sends me pictures every visit. You can tell she takes her time to give her a little love each time she stops in. I would definitely have her watch Cleo again in a heartbeat.”

“Gail is amazing! She took great care of our dogs and cats while we were out of town-including taking them on walks, hanging out at the house, and even took the dogs to Red Rock for a hike on a nice day. Our shyest cat who will always hide when people come over was comfortable enough to come out to visit with her, so that says everything in how pets feel about her! She was great at communicating during her visits and keeping us updated on our pets. We will definitely be using Gail when she’s available in the future.”
“Michelle was excellent! She stopped by to get a rundown of my cat’s feeding routine before the dates I was out of town, and she was communicative throughout the days I was away. I felt very comfortable & trusted my kitty was in good hands.”

“Another last-minute request that could not have gone better. Charles and his son took such excellent care of a foster dog ours that is very anxious and needy. 10/10 stars. Charles is the best!”

About: Hi! My name is Katie and I live in Interlochen, MI. I have had dogs my whole life (2 golden's, 1 half pitbull/lab, and a beagle) and have loved them all very very much. I love taking dogs on long walks and playing fetch with them at the park. I also wouldn't mind taking them to the dog park so they could see all their friends! I am a responsible, caring person who genuinely loves animals and I work from home so have a flexible schedule. If you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to contact me :) Thanks! I work from home so have a flexible schedule! I can walk/play each day I available and work around my and your and your dogs schedule. I will watch your dog inside/outside, make sure they are safe, going potty (if outside), and staying within their parameters if they have an invisible fence.

“Jill has always taken excellent care of our kitties. She is very reliable and does a great job communicating their status and cares given. Lots of pictures too. We highly recommend her to watch over your pets!!”

“Scott and Stephanie were great to work with. They communicated well, showed up for the full appointment time we booked, and took great care of our cat when we were out of town. All the stars, would book again.”

“Thank you so much for the last minute care for Maddy and Bella! I really appreciate it. Thnks for the gret communication and pictures. I will let you know when I need care again”

About: With 16 years of trusted experience, I’ve been the go-to pet sitter for friends, family, and neighbors; including animals with medical needs or disabilities. Whether your pet is big, small, young, senior, or special-needs, I’ll care for them like family, because that’s what they are. I work full-time remote, which gives me the flexibility to offer reliable, attentive pet care throughout the day. I’m able to tailor my schedule to meet your pet’s unique needs, whether that means mid-day walks, medication, or extra snuggles. While I’m unable to offer care in my own home, I’m more than happy to stay in yours, the bonus being your pet stays comfortable in their own space! I’m clean, respectful, and treat your home as if it were my own. My goal is for you to return home feeling like you never left, except your pet is happy and cared for.

About: While your fur baby is in my care they get quality playtime, walks and love. I treat them like they are my own. You will also get daily updates and photos. Pet sitting is my full time job. This gives me plenty of time to play or walk your dog. I'm also able to do overnight visits, stays or boarding. I have a large yard and neighborhood to take nice long walks in. I also have a dog that loves to play and get along with others.
About: ’ve had hands-on experience caring for animals for many years. Since around age 12, I’ve regularly helped care for pets belonging to friends, family, and neighbors. During that time I’ve provided feeding, walking, bathing, pet sitting, playtime, and general daily care. I also have experience helping with basic training and working with dogs who were preparing for adoption, which helped me learn how to work with different personalities, energy levels, and comfort needs. Most recently, I’ve been volunteering at a local animal shelter for over 4 months. In this role, I assist with a variety of responsibilities including walking dogs, bathing, playtime and enrichment, administering medications when needed, transporting animals, and helping with overall animal care at the shelter. Working with animals in both home and shelter environments has given me experience with pets of different temperaments, and I always focus on making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for. I truly enjoy spending time with animals and making sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while their owners are away. I treat every pet as if they were my own and always do my best to provide reliable, attentive care. If you’re looking for someone dependable who genuinely cares about animals, I’d love the opportunity to meet you and your pet! I’m currently in an on call sort of situation, so my schedule is very flexible! I ask that we at least get a few days advance notice due to a fluctuating schedule. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, personality, and any special needs so I can provide care that feels familiar and stress-free for them. Through my experience caring for pets and volunteering at a local animal shelter, I’ve worked with animals of many different temperaments and understand the importance of patience, awareness, and safe handling. I always make sure pets are secure on walks, monitored during playtime, and given plenty of attention and care. I’m also happy to follow any specific instructions you have for feeding, medications, routines, or training. I believe communication is very important, so I’m glad to send updates and photos so you can feel confident that your pet is happy and well cared for while you’re away.
“Patty was very patient and accommodating in meeting our anxious dog, and made sure he felt comfortable with introductions on his terms. It’s very clear she knows animals! We plan on booking her again in the near future”

Wonderful meet and greet. Skyy is a rescue and it usually takes a while before she will let a stranger pet her but Skyy was so comfortable immediately upon meeting Steph and was excited and let her pet her right away. I have never seen her do that with anyone so I feel so confident in leaving Skyy in her care in the future

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
