About: I have been an active volunteer with the Elmore SPCA in Peru Ny for 4 years. I often walk, socialize, enrich, and foster the dogs in the shelters care. I have worked with puppy's as young as 3 months up to the elder dogs to provide comfort. I am currently home for summer between my graduate years of college, my work schedule varies week to week. I have lived in this area for my entire life and am comfortable with traveling for the care. Unfortunately during this time I am unable to have pets in my home. To ensure the safety for me and your pets I have completed all state required ASPCA programs to work professionally with animals. The topics for dogs and cats included; body language, diseases, safety and management, and cleaning regulations. I have regularly walked and fostered dogs from Elmore SPCA in upstate NY. Through them I have gained lots of experience handling different breeds, temperaments, sizes and ages of dogs.

About: I have experience taking care of dogs and cats for families and friends, I know how to read body language and know when I've crossed boundaries. I always have patience for animals. I'm working part time so I have a lot of time available to work with pets, check in on them, and stay with them if needed. I am totally available for overnights, I'm a night owl so I can always check in with a pet and take care of them.
“Steve does a great job with my dog Gus. He came and walked him while I was out of town for a few days. He has very great communication and I felt confident leaving Gus in his care. Highly recommend to others!”

“I am pleased to highly recommend our dog walker. Stephanie, was consistently professional, punctual, and attentive. Throughout each visit, she provided regular updates, which gave us great peace of mind. Her interaction with our dog was exceptional, and it was clear that she genuinely cared for her well-being. Our dog responded very positively to her, and we were extremely satisfied with the level of care she received. I am confident that anyone who chooses Stephanie, services will be equally pleased. This was our first time ever being away from our baby Blu and she assured us that Blu would be good hands with her. We will definitely book with her again.”

“Kristen was lovely! On time and very sweet and patient with my anxious pup. She had nice energy, and comes across as very responsible and caring. I felt confident that my pup was in good hands with Kristen. Will definitely hire her again!”

“Mario was absolutely amazing! He kept me updated with lots of texts and photos while he walked Osito. And Osito loved him so much. I felt like my pup was not only in good hands but that he got to have a really fun time with Mario! Highly recommend.”

“Amanda was great with Ana, my high-energy rescue, and managed to tire her out during a long school day for me! Very caring and kind! Was accommodating during our meet and greet and extremely attentive to Ana. Loved all the updates and ease of communication. Ana is definitely excited for her next walk with Amanda”

“Celina was kind enough to meet with us the day before walking our pup and was on time and kind. She was communicative and walked our dog as instructed. Would def recommend!”

About: I have petsit and watched over a multitude of animals my entire adolescence. From dogs to cats to even ferrets, I made sure they were loved and well cared for the whole time ❤️ I am fully available every day of week the during the daytime. On weekends I work part time, however, that will not interfere as I can make sure to care for your pets both before and after my shift! I prefer to keep the animal in the house that they reside in, as it is less stress than changing their entire environment. I will make sure to abide by any house rules and make sure your baby stays safe while you’re away!

About: As a college student who genuinely loves animals, I bring both enthusiasm and responsibility to every pet I care for. I have experience watching and caring for dogs of different sizes and temperaments, and I’m very comfortable with daily routines like feeding, walking, playtime, and basic grooming. What sets me apart is my patience and attention to each dog’s individual needs—I understand that every pet has their own personality and comfort level. I’m especially attentive to safety and making sure dogs feel comfortable and happy while their owners are away. I can handle energetic dogs who need lots of exercise as well as older dogs who require a gentler approach and extra care. I’m also dependable, communicative, and will keep you updated with photos and messages so you always know your pet is in good hands. As a college student, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to dedicate quality time to pet care. I’m available most weekdays around my classes and have open availability on weekends. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
