“It was a pleasure to have Rose walk our dog on the Easter holiday! Rose came for a meet & greet .... and quickly made friends with our dog. She came on time, followed all my written directions, sent pictures.... and properly locked up. It was so great to know our dog was cared for and we could enjoy the holiday with family.”

“We are so glad we met Stephanie! Upon her arrival, our two 70+ lb pups were bouncy and very excited to meet her. Before even entering the house, she got them to sit and get calm. She shared great photos and didn’t leave the house until she made sure the pups had what they needed to be comfortable for the rest of the day. Our pups can’t wait to see her again!!”

“Amanda was great with Ana, my high-energy rescue, and managed to tire her out during a long school day for me! Very caring and kind! Was accommodating during our meet and greet and extremely attentive to Ana. Loved all the updates and ease of communication. Ana is definitely excited for her next walk with Amanda”

About: I just got out of the Army after 8 years and had my best friend with me the whole way, a German Shepard named Mac. Sadly he passed about a year ago and I would love to have a new companion but I'm going back to school in the fall and need to focus on that. However, in the mean time I have the whole summer free to care for other's dogs. I live in a house with a large, fenced in yard and all the free time in the world. I'd love to have a dog to play with a d go on walks with. I currently have no obligations until September so I can devote 100% of my time and energy to your pup. Their care will be my full-time job. I have a large, fenced in yard and no other pets or children. I live on a large street perfect for walks and near the rail trail too.
About: Hi- I have been a dog sitter from a young age for a family with 5 golden retrievers. Unfortunately, they have since passed on as time passes by. As an adult now in a new area I decided to check out this type of opportunity online. I am a complete animal lover and would treat your pet as my own. Showing it affection, attention, & provide with the care it needs while you are unavailable. I also have a mellow adult lab myself that I would be happy to bring for playdates as requested. Rates and availability are TBD as mentioned I am new to the site and do work full time during week. I am available mornings, evenings, & weekends! :) Look forward to seeing what opportunities are in my area. After getting laid off of my job after 13 years I have decided for now I'd rather be around animals & am happy to do so with open availability. Warm weather is coming & I would be happy to either hang out with your pet in your yard or take them for walks. Whatever suits your needs! I am an animal lover & will be excited to treat your pet as my own. I will also treat your home with complete care in your absence.

“Jess was lovely with my dog. I have a German Shepherd and I’m always a bit worried with strangers. Jess came to my house to meet my dog beforehand to make sure they were a good fit which made me feel so much more at ease. Jess even sent me pictures of their walks! She was very accommodating with my instructions and I’m so grateful for her service.”

“Lex is amazing! We needed someone to walk our pup and hang out with her for an hour and Lex was so sweet with her (and our kitties). Super communicative, sent cute photos and great to work with. Thanks, Lex!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
