“Nicole was so wonderful! She took the BEST care of Basil, who is an older dog with some health limitations (hard of hearing, hard of vision, etc). Nicole has a few older dogs of her own, so understood Basil's needs and was very attentive and loving with her. I would recommend to anyone looking for a loving home to board your dog!”

“Candice was kind, caring and responsive. She took the bestest care of my dog, Bruce, and was so patient with me and my husband even though we booked her totally last minute. I cannot wait to book her again!”

“Saskia was absolutely fantastic! She took such wonderful care of our two energetic dogs and our energetic cat, and we couldn't have been happier. She truly went above and beyond, staying in constant communication with us the whole time we were away and sending photos and updates that really put our minds at ease. She put an incredible amount of heart into caring for our pets—she easily gave one hundred and fifty to two hundred percent—and her response time was incredibly fast.”

“I was very comfortable leaving my dog with Deanne! My girl has a lot of energy and loves attention, and I was relieved to hear that this wasn't bothersome at all. I got routine updates throughout the week, and Deanne was very responsive to my messages. 10/10 would hire again.”

“Mary and Todd are the absolute best dog sitters! Their great care for our dog Toby gives us a lot of peace of mind. We know he is having a great time — it shows in the photos that Mary sends to us throughout his stay.”

“Peter and Monique were so attentive to our dog for a whole week. Peter was very thorough in asking all about Sooty’s needs and preferences. We really appreciated the updates and photos, our dog had a lovely time and was very well cared for. I booked Peter based on reading the reviews and would say exactly the same as others have. Definitely recommend and will be booking again in future.”

“So glad we found Brooke!!! We had deferred family vacations out of driving distance for the past two years because we no longer had family nearby who could watch our pups. That has all changed now. Rover.com was recommended by a friend and truthfully I was a bit hesitant until I met Brooke. She responded so quickly to my messages when I was exploring sitters and as soon as the pups met her I knew this would be a great match. She treated our girls like family, letting them nap on the furniture (just like at home), taking them for walks and playing fetch. She sent us pictures each day of the dogs and it made us feel so much more at ease seeing they were being loved on. I can not say enough kind things about Brooke and her family and I highly recommend her. She went exceedingly above what was necessary and we will certainly be calling on her again!”

“Franny took wonderful care of my 14 year old Charlie overnight. She’s a very kind person and Charlie felt completely comfortable with her. He also got along well with her dog. I will definitely be using her again.”

“John is the best. He has cared for our dog for years. We go back to him every time because we are confident with his care and he is great with communications. We never have to worry when Cooper is with him.”

“Yenifer took excellent care of my dog. He was so happy with her! She made sure she communicated everyday with us during the stay, sent us pictures and updates. We are very happy with her services and would strongly recommend her. Thank you, Yenifer.”

“Irene has been such a great find in the Berkshires! She always gives helpful communication with each stay, and Ruby seems to love her time with Irene (and her sweet dog Goldie). Thanks for all of the care that you give to Ruby - we'll see you soon!”

“Christine is fantastic. My dog is super happy at her place—he has some rescue-dog type separation anxiety, and the environment at Christine’s makes him very comfortable.”

“Our Cat Alan loved staying with Taylor. So much so tear he cried when I picked him up and he had to leave. Taylor was very responsive and sent many great photos and videos of him looking very happy.”

“Absolutely amazing caretakers. They watched both my dogs, kept them happy, healthy, and entertained. They were able to pick up and drop off from my house, and provided photos and check ups all the time. Will definitely be using them again”

“I found Jane on Rover last minute we were lucky she had space to take Kali for the weekend. First time for us to leave our dog with anyone so we were a bit nervous. Jane put us at ease and our dog Kali had a wonderful time playing with other pups all weekend long! Jane sent updates and photos and videos of Kali throughout her stay and it really put our mind at ease. Next time we can’t take Kali with us for some reason we will not hesitate to drop her off at Jane’s again.”

About: I have years of experience with many different types of dogs. I watch dogs on a regular basis. For younger dogs I can offer a mountain hikes and for older dogs I can walk them on boardwalk trails that are easy on the joints, yet give the dog the sense of walking in the woods. I don't mind larger dogs at all. I also am willing to cook food for dogs. I very much enjoy the company of dogs and find that when they are well fed and exercised they are really pleasant to be around. Please give me honest description of your dog so I can plan His/Her visit accordingly. My house is set back (1000 feet) from a country road . I can pick up dogs in NYC , Great Barrington , Hudson, or Albany for a fee. I have watched many dogs over the years. Usually I try to walk them as much as possible. I feed them well , but make them follow the sit command before being fed and multiple times a day. All dogs have to be on a slip proof leash when outside or dropped off. Dogs often don't behave as they do at home . Once off a leash it can be very difficult to recapture a dog. In the house I don't crate dogs . We can only watch a few dogs at once. If your dog is very difficult let me know in advanced. Also Corgies get 10% off.

Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
