“We were visiting from out of town for our sons wedding and needed a last minute sitter. Thankfully we found Megan! Olive had a great time with Megan. She was a happy and worn out pup by the time we picked her up.”

About: My husband and I are blessed to have a totally fenced in home with over three acres. I decided to use this blessing to bless dogs to come and run and play. Dogs were meant to run and roam not be tied up. I so enjoy being outdoors and being around dogs. I have always had dogs even growing up with my family. My father had a heart for animals and I believe that is where my love has come from. I have three dogs of my own and each one has a very special spirit about them. In my spare time, I enjoy going to the rescues and shelters walking the dogs there. I also take rescue puppies into our home and foster them until they are adopted into a loving family. My husband and I work together and we have plenty of time to give special attention to your fur baby. We believe in exercising your pet whether by means of walking, playing with their favorite toy, sitting on the porch just hanging out and also then giving the proper rest as needed. My yard is fenced in for protected play time. While inside your pet will be allowed to be a part of household for special time and then I have a separate area where your pet will be allowed to have quite time and rest in a crate or in a area without a crate as needed.
About: Hi! I am Sarah. I am a mom, business owner, and dog lover living in 7 acres in La Plata. I offer in home boarding and care in a peaceful, low stress environment where your animals can relax, explore, and feel at home. I am currently working on installing a fence, so for now I can do leash walks to keep everyone safe, or supervised play for small puppies since we are acres from the road. If you’re looking for personalized care, space, and a more relaxed environment, I’d love to care for your dog. Dogs are never left unattended for long periods, and I prioritize safety at all times. Dogs get plenty of supervised outdoor time and a comfortable, clean space inside to decompress. I care for pets in home as if they’re part of the family. I can follow each dogs routines, which includes feeding schedule, potty breaks, walks, and any special instructions that you provide.
“Morgan is amazing ! I’m in the process of selling my home and had a pre-planned event prior to scheduling my open house. Morgan came to pick up my boys they had a blast and he dropped them home after the open house was over! Morgan is a great communicator and it’s evident that he loves dogs and they love him!”
“I was a ball of anxiety over the idea of needing to board my dog for over a week for the first time later in the year. I figured that a doggy daycare stay for an afternoon would help ease us all leading up to the big trip. The drop off process with Sean was painless. He began trying to work with my dog and gain trust immediately. I felt extremely comfortable leaving my dog in his hands for the day. Upon my return later in the evening, Sean and my dog came walking towards me in the driveway and my dog looked as happy as can be. The relief I felt was immeasurable, and my dog had a great nap in the car on the way home. I will 100% trust Sean with my dog again in the future, as should anyone reading this.”

“Very impressed with the care Jesus provided for my Kota. He provided videos and updates through out the day. I work very long days, so the updates were very reassuring while I was away. Reliable/trustworthy/attentive. Would recommend! Thank you Jesus!”

About: I've had dogs in my life ever since I could walk! I have always loved furry friends and the joy that they bring. I've personally owned bully breeds, labradors/labradoodles, and shelties. I have cared for dogs as large as Mastiffs and as small as Yorkies. I currently own a friendly, loving, labradoodles named Beau! I'm currently a stay at home dog mama. My schedule is very flexible! I can help with walks, check ins, boarding in my home, and daycare in my home. I have 3 children ages 8,7,5 who share my love for furry friends. I have a labradoodle named Beau who is very friendly, playful and would be thrilled for some playmates!
About: Growing up, my mom has always had at least 6 cats in the house and 2 dogs since i was the age of 10. I learned from my mom and sister to help take care of our pets and how to take care of them. My friends and acquaintances know how loving my family is of animals so I was always the one they called if they needed pet care. I’ve fostered cats and dogs ( when I don’t want them for myself); I’ve gone to friends houses to care for their pets; I’ve kept pets at my home for friends; I’ve trained many kitties and puppies; I’ve seen the most of it. Let me know what you and your fur babies need so we can figure out a plan! As of now I’m currently available 24/7. I am looking to find a more stable job soon, which will be part time. I can always see if I can work my schedule around yours as well, so let me know! I have a fenced in yard which is great for dogs to run around freely and 2 friendly dogs who do great with other pets and people! I have 6 cats, 2 of which are indoor and 4 of which are indoor and outdoor cats. I do have a room where I can isolate any pets that don’t do well with other animals and if you wish for me to keep them in a crate at any time, I can make that happen! I’m experienced in walking dogs and cats; the harnesses, leashes and all! I can bathe any doggies that might get dirty from an outside adventure if I have your permission and of course if I’m in your home, I’ll be sure to clean up any messes. Potty training isn’t a problem for me and accidents happen! If you have any preferred products you’d like me to use for clean up, let me know! If you feel there’s anything I’ve missed just contact me for further details. (:

“Jessica and Nick have been watching Sara Mae during the workday for a couple of months now. Sara Mae's DaDa died just this past April and she had to move from a nice home in Charlottesville with a big porch and yard, to live with me in a DC apartment. She is a fairly anxious dog to begin with, and as you can imagine under tremendous stress and depression the past few months, getting sick a lot and not eating, especially when I had to return to work. She went from nearly 65lbs at her healthy weight, to 45lbs in two months. Since staying with Jessica and Nick during the day during the work week, she has started to calm down, is now eating again, and putting weight back on that she had lost due to depression and stress. Jessica and Nick are quite literally life savers, and I cannot thank them enough for easing my mind about Sara Mae and being a huge part of the process of helping her get to a new, healthy, normal while I have to be at work. Your fur babies are in good hands!”

“Everything went well Erica was always ready for my to drop off Cosmo despite it typically be very early. Cosmo can be kind of a dirty dog, but she kept him clean and well taken care of. She updated me on how he was doing and sent pictures.”
“This lovely couple was PERFECT. I could not say enough awesome things about them!! They were accommodating for my two babies and I will definitely rebook with them in the future!”

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Hill Top commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
