“My dog Gigi loves it at Seyla’s place! While I’m at work I look forward to the videos of the walks and to just see how she is spending her day. The videos make my day knowing she is having a good time.”

“Mickey is amazing with dogs. He knows exactly what he is talking about and it is clear that he just has our Dexter’s best interest at heart while he is in his care. So happy we found someone that matches our needs so well!”

“Connie was amazing with Thor! Besides being available last minute, she went above and beyond. She has a super warm personality and made Thor feel at ease right away. He was so happy to run around in her yard. She even packed some homemade treats for him to take home! She was just fantastic and I highly recommend. We will absolutely reach out again when we need help with our pup.”

“Kady was great with Thor. I appreciate her being available with a last minute request. She’s very flexible and reliable. I also appreciated the updates and pics. We’ll be back again!”

“We were visiting from out of town for our sons wedding and needed a last minute sitter. Thankfully we found Megan! Olive had a great time with Megan. She was a happy and worn out pup by the time we picked her up.”

“Jesus was so wonderful with our dog, Mack. Mack is an anxious boy and is fearful of most strangers, so we have had difficulty finding someone who he felt comfortable with and could care for him while we’re away. Initially, we were nervous dropping him off because we weren’t sure how Mack would be, but he walked right up to Jesus and everything went great! Jesus provided plenty of pictures and updates throughout the day, which we really appreciate. My wife and I felt so much relief and were at ease knowing Mack was enjoying his day with Jesus. We are so happy to have found Jesus and will certainly be using him again in the future. Mack can’t wait to be back!”

About: I have taken care of other people's pets for 15+ years along with housesitting. I have also worked for Wag! (Dog walking app) for years and I have also worked professionally for Queen City Pet-sitting in North Carolina. I am energetic, outgoing, patient, experienced, adaptable, and passionate. I am also a professional contemporary dancer and teacher. I have owned dogs, cats, fish, birds, hermit crabs, and a turtle. I am friendly, reliable, punctual, and would love to take care of your pet(s)! Let me know if you have any questions or anything else you’d like to know. My availability is flexible so any time you need me, I can help out. I also have my own car so transportation is not a problem. I have a fenced in yard. I also live close to a greenway for nice long walks. I can easily crate your pet if needed as well.

About: I offer a premium boarding experience because I believe every dog deserves to be treated like family, not inventory. I strictly limit my capacity to one or two dogs to ensure they get the attention and peace of mind they need. My home is a real home, not a kennel. I currently care for Violet, a Belgian Malinois service dog, and Scarlet, a Maine Coon kitten. My experience goes far beyond that, too. My journey has taken me from volunteering with A Forever Home Dog Rescue to a wildlife rescue in Virginia, and now to raising neonatal kittens from just a few hours old. I have a unique skill set for managing a wide range of animals—from fragile newborns to high-energy working dogs—in a calm, household setting. While you might find cheaper options elsewhere ($30–$40/day), those often involve high-volume, kennel-style setups with multiple dogs in separate rooms. My $60/day rate reflects the exclusive, one-on-one care and quiet environment you get here. You aren't paying for a bed in a facility; you're paying for a home where your dog is an honored guest. Pet Care is Family Life, Not a Job My home operates on a calm, consistent routine designed to make every guest feel safe and settled. As a remote worker with a quiet home, I am present and available throughout the day. Morning: We start with a gentle wake-up, a potty break, and breakfast. Daytime: While I work, your pet is right beside me—a quiet companion in a comfy dog bed or in a safe play area. I check in frequently for water, a quick snack, or a cuddle. Afternoon: We have dedicated time for one-on-one play, mental stimulation, or a relaxing walk (weather permitting). Evening: We wind down together, often with quiet time before bed. Because I host only one or two guests, this routine is tailored to your pet's needs, not a generic schedule for a group. There are no crowded kennel hours or constant noise; just a steady, loving presence. My home is a safe, controlled environment where safety is my top priority. Because I treat every pet as family, I maintain strict protocols to ensure their well-being. Supervision: I am home full-time and provide constant supervision. There is no "cage time" or unsupervised roaming. Secure Environment: My home is pet-proofed. I do not leave pets unattended in crates for long periods; they are integrated into family life. Emergency Preparedness: I have an SUV ready for immediate transport to the vet. I carry a fully stocked pet first-aid kit and have a clear emergency action plan for every guest. Background Checks: I have passed a basic background check and maintain a 100% response rate, ensuring reliability and trust. I also maintain an active government clearance. Health & Hygiene: I follow strict cleaning protocols, especially given my experience with neonatal kittens (who are highly susceptible to illness). I isolate new guests if needed and monitor health closely.
“It means soo much to have a safe space for my dog, my baby, to stay and play with humans and other dogs. Thanks Tanita and Terrence for such great and attentive service!”

About: I can accommodate your pets needs. My home is ideally suited for pets–a spacious, fully-fenced backyard for dogs to run around safely, I will maintain a calming presence with your dog. Walking/ running, fetch the ball are some outdoor activities to strengthen the bond with your dog. I work from home and have a very flexible schedule. I have a dog and have kept dogs for others. I take our dog out for walks and play-time with other dogs in the neighborhood . Diesel is very friendly, energetic and loving. My house has a large fenced yard. It’s not my practice to crate dogs. However, I can crate your dog if requested. I provide dog beds and allow dogs to move about freely. No one else will be assisting me with caring for your dog.
“Alexander was FANTASTIC! He waited outside to pick us up so I could get to work on time. He was very respectful and Cocoa had a blast! He kept us informed the whome day with what was going on with her and posted pics so we could check in on her which gives us peace of mind. We need him permanently!!”

“Vanessa and Geoffrey were so kind and professional with the initial meet and greet for doggy daycare. They sent lots of updates and pictures to put my mind at ease. This was our first in-home dog care experience, and we will definitely be back!”

“Morgan is amazing ! I’m in the process of selling my home and had a pre-planned event prior to scheduling my open house. Morgan came to pick up my boys they had a blast and he dropped them home after the open house was over! Morgan is a great communicator and it’s evident that he loves dogs and they love him!”

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Mount Pisgah commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
