“Jessica did a great job caring for Luna. Luna is quite shy and nervous around new people, but she felt comfortable and accepted Jessica right away, which was a huge relief for us. There was a last minute change in the overnight arrangements due to a personal matter, but Jessica communicated this and ensured Luna was well looked after during the day. We were happy to see Luna calm and will be booking her again.”

“We are SO happy with Jennifer’s diligent, patient, & loving care of our little girl — we feel we hit the jackpot finding her! After the sudden passing of our two beloved dogs last year, we were anxious & apprehensive about leaving our recently adopted (also anxious) dog for the first time on a trip. Jennifer alleviated all anxieties, was wonderful about checking in and asking questions, respectful of our home, went above and beyond. Plus our hard-to-crack little egg absolutely loves her! Many many thanks to Jennifer; we feel confident leaving our little girl in the safety of her care.”

“My husband and I recently had a 5 day trip planned and were struggling to find care for our 6 year old dog and our young puppy ! I was super anxious about leaving them for the first time but after meeting with Jessica and Guillermo I immediately felt at ease. Jessica was super communicative and sent lots of pictures throughout the day of our pups! I never had to guess what they were doing and both the pups had a blast! Jessica was also very respectful of our home, we came home to everything clean and put together just how it was before we left. Our puppy is a huge chewer and she ended up chewing a little bit of our carpet, Jessica immediately informed and showed me, and it was wonderful to have someone so transparent and honest about anything they happened while we were gone. We will absolutely be using them again for our next trip! (As long as they’ll have us) haha.”

“Carly was the BEST with our Ivy girl! She was so attentive and she wanted to make sure she followed all our instructions. She sent us daily updates constantly which I truly appreciated. So grateful for her! Thank you again, Carly!! Would love to have you watch ivy again!”

“Erinn did a great job caring for our two big dogs at our house and keeping us updated and connected while we were traveling. We will definitely seek her help when we need it in future.”

“This is the second time that we’ve used Erin to house sit our dog Rocky. Erin is awesome!!! She responds right away and always keeps us updated on her visits. Erin is now our go-to dog sitter. We will definitely be using her in the future. I highly recommend Erin for all of your dog sitting needs.”
“If there were 10 stars ( 10 being the highest) , would get a 10. She was on time, provided updates, did the necessities and played with the pups. - and the place was clean. Would definitely book her again!”

“Brooke was excellent with our small dog, Hildie. She took her out very regularly and gave detailed and frequent updates. Very happy with her care and she also was very respectful of our home as well! Would definitely book Brooke again.”

“Miranda is an excellent dogsitter and a truly lovely person! Great communication by text with daily photos as well. Will absolutely recommend her to anyone in need of care for their beloved pets and home! So happy we found her!!”

“Kayla took great care of our pup!! He is a bit nervous with new people but warmed up to her quickly and they became fast friends. She gave us great and consistent updates that made us feel at ease when we were away. We came back to a clean house that looked just as we left it.”

About: I’ve been around dogs all shapes and sizes and ages ever since remember myself. I am a pet mom to a rescue cat and a beautiful dog I have listed my available days. I’m mostly home and kids love pets, all of us are very house broken and mellow. My dog is super friendly with everybody I have a fenced in decent size yard, and a cat and a dog to keep company. Pets are not allowed in the yard unsupervised though
About: My friends used to call my house a zoo. In all, I have cared for dogs, a beardie, a ferret, fish, birds, hamsters, you name it. The only animal I really don't have experience with is a snake, but I have always admired their beauty. No matter what species you love, I will love and acre for them just as much! I am a teacher, and therefore am available after 4 PM on weekdays, and on the weekends. I am available during Christmas break and all federal holidays. If we live within a few miles of each other, I can make myself available between 5-6:30 AM. I am open to coming to you, or keeping your beloved fur baby with me! I do not crate (unless of course you request it), and I do not have a fenced-in yard just yet, but we are on .25 acres (your love-bug would reside with myself and my boyfriend, who has 2 Golden Retrievers and 2 orange cats at his family's house). If you don't normally have your furbaby in bed with you, we will follow that plan, but I have no issue with a bad night's sleep if it means I get to cuddle them.
About: I have been a veterinary technician for the last 19 years. I have spent the majority of that time working at a small animal practice, but also worked at an emergency and specialty practice for 4 years during that time as well. During my career, I have dealt with numerous c-sections, geriatric, diabetic, and renal patients. Meaning that, injections, SQ fluid, oral meds, etc, are not a problem.. I have also done pet sitting on the side for many years during this time as well. I have always had a love for animals. I currently own a 9 year old mixed breed dog, as well as a cat, and chinchilla. I have had many pocket pets over the years as well. I currently work full time, overnights only, on the front end of the week. I plan accordingly, to make sure the pets needs are met before and after work shift, and spoil them extra on the days I’m off. I adjust to whatever needs the pet requires, and make our schedules work in sync so that there are no issues with bathroom breaks, or feeding/medications.

About: I've been working with animals for many years. I've worked at doggy day cares, I was an animal control officer in Colorado, and now I'm currently working at an animal hospital as a veterinary assistant. I've been at my current hospital for almost 3 years, and I love working with animals, it's my passion. I am skillful in administering most medications, CPR, and nail trims if needed. Please note: I work at my animal hospital Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. I'm available for visits/house sitting before and after if needed. The only full day im unavailable is Wednesdays. Otherwise, I can do any drop in visits after 6pm from Thursdays-Saturdays, or anytime Sundays-Tuesdays. I can do overnight care all days of the week. I am always tentative to the animals. It's my priority and passion. I always know where the animals I'm caring for are at during the whole visit, and I'll make sure they get excited whenever they see me coming to take care of them.
About: I offer personalized pet care with a focus on training puppies and providing attentive care for senior dogs. With years of experience training my own dogs and caring for my parents' elderly dog, I understand the unique needs of every pet, ensuring they receive the love and attention they deserve at every stage of life. I have experience taking care of fish as well! So if you have any fish tanks I will be more than happy to take care of them. I have a lot of free time as I just graduated college and I am taking a gap year before working to save up money to travel! . I don't make many plans during the week so will have lots of time before. I generally stay at home so having a new step in my routine this summer would be amazing! I will do my best to stick to the routine when taking care of your pet in your own home. I find it important to have consistency when it comes to pet care.
“Thanks to Vanessa, we had one less thing to worry about during our recent trip. She took great care of the boys and a few things around the house. Logistically, her work place being close to our house, gave us the assurance that she is closeby if needed during her working hours. The boys loved her so much, they went crazy when she had dropped by later to collect a few stuff she had left behind.”

FAQs for House Sitting - Hibernia
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Hibernia on Rover is $86.58 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 11,593 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Hibernia. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hibernia walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hibernia maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hibernia choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hibernia. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
