“Nicole was amazing with my cat, Polly. They hit it off at the meet and greet and she was so nice, she even won over my fear aggressive dog while she was there! I got updates and she put all my fears to rest with her top notch care of my cat while i was gone. Took care of her litter box and played with her.”

“Our pups are super shy, and Claudia was so patient and creative in helping them feel comfortable while we were away! Great communication and so kind to our babies - we will definitely be booking again :)”

About: Hello! My name is Kenzie, and I’m a zookeeper with a lifelong passion for animals of all kinds! Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of species, with giraffes being my specialty. Working in animal care has taught me the importance of adaptability, patience, and individualized care. I have extensive experience with daily care and feeding, administering medications, following medical procedures, and safely relocating animals when needed. I love knowing all the little quirks that make your baby unique, what kind of scratches they like, which toys are their favorite etc. The more I know about their needs the more fun we can have together! Above all, I have a huge heart for animals and make their comfort, safety, and individual needs my top priority. I’m available for flexible drop-in visits as well as dog walking, and I would love the opportunity to care for your critters like they’re my own! I am very flexible with my schedule and do my best to accommodate the needs of both my clients and their critters! I’m happy to work around your schedule and find a routine that works best for you and your pet, while always making sure they receive the time, attention, and care they deserve. At home, I’m also a proud cat mom to two rescue cats, each with their own unique health needs that I manage alongside them. I’m especially passionate about choice-based and cooperative care, and I bring that same philosophy to every animal I work with. I’m very comfortable caring for nervous or shy animals and will always respect their boundaries and give them space when they need it. On the other hand, I’m a big animal lover, so if your critter is looking for some extra cuddles and affection, I’m always happy to oblige!
“Catherine was always on time and following all of our wishes for taking care of our baby Indie. She was extremely communicative and responsive the entire time when we were gone. We got lucky when we found Catherine and will be using her for all of our future travel plans for watching our little girl. Thank you Catherine!”

“Sherri was wonderful with our dogs while we vacationed in Mexico. She arrived on time, treated my pups as her own, and looked after all their needs. I will not hesitate hiring Sherri when we plan our next vacation. Thank you Sherri!”

“Payton was great! She was communicative and followed all care instructions exactly as requested. Everything was handled smoothly, and I appreciated the thoughtful attention to my cats. Would book again!”

About: What sets me apart from other sitters is my extensive experience and genuine love for both cats and dogs of all sizes and personalities. I’m especially comfortable with dogs of all breeds, including pit bulls and pitty-mixes, and understand how to build trust and provide calm, confident care. I have hands-on experience administering oral medications to both cats and dogs, which means I can confidently care for pets with special health needs. Additionally, I’m skilled in caring for senior pets, like my own sassy senior cat, Misty May, so I’m attentive to the extra patience and gentleness they require. To keep you connected and reassured, I regularly send photos and videos of your fur babies, so you can see that they’re happy, safe, and well cared for while you’re away. As a master’s student currently writing my thesis, I have the flexibility to set my own schedule, which allows me to dedicate focused, consistent time to pet care. Whether it’s daily drop-in visits or overnight home sitting, I prioritize creating a calm and attentive environment for your cat. I focus on maintaining your fur babies routine while also providing attention and care. I always observe their behavior closely to respond to their needs, whether that means extra affection or giving them space.
“Tori was fantastic! We felt confident that our dogs were left in great hands. We received multiple pictures and videos and overall the communication left us reassured. We came home to two happy and well cared for pups. We will definitely be asking Tori to pet sit for us again in the future.”

“Caden was great! Came through last minute on an emergency out of town trip I had. Dogs were great and warmed up to him easily. Will be booking again for the next trip, thanks again for the help!”

“Sonia is the best! My cats LOVED her and animals are very good judges of character. She kept me in the loop the whole time we were away and sent me pictures and videos of her playing with the cats. Even the shy one came out of his shell (which he won’t even do for me) and played with her. I feel like I’ve made a new friend - my cats certainly have!”

“Chloe was fabulous. She put us and our cats completely at ease. Appreciated her thorough and consistent check-ins. Great at communicating if she’s going to be coming early or late and was great with both our cats, especially our skittish baby. Thank you Chloe!”

“Ailen was amazing with my sweet Izzy, who absolutely loved her. It was love at first sight, for sure! Ailen sent me pictures & videos, the whole time I was away at an event & it was evident that Izzy was having so much fun & felt right at home with Ailen. Can’t wait for her to come back next month, when we need to go out of town overnight. I highly recommend Ailen for your sweet dog too! 😊”

“Robin was soooo good. I couldn't have asked for more. My typically shy cat warmed up to her quickly. She kept me informed eyery day. If you choose her I'm sure you won't be disappointed.”

“It was such a piece of mind to have Suzie look after our fur babies. She did such a wonderful job, even though our two cats hid from her 😆. I would hire her again in an instant.”

About: I have always loved dogs and I have decided that I want to be around dogs in my free time because it makes me happy! I am a soon to be retired school teacher and want to spend my time now with animals especially dogs! For the next 10 months I will be still working my teacher schedule and would like to get a head start on my next venture. I would be available for dog sitting on weekends and dog walks after 3pm during the work week and anytime over weekends. I have always had a dog growing up and very lovingly cared for my own dogs for the last 31 years. I enjoy being around all dogs. When I retire I would also like to volunteer somewhere for dogs. Again, for the next 10 months, I will still be working my teacher schedule and I will be available during the work week after 3 PM for dog walks or drop ins and during the weekend for overnights. I also would be available for some of my school breaks. I have a fenced in backyard and one dog named Lina. She is medium sized and very friendly with other dogs. I would love to love on your fur baby.
About: I have been a pet owner my whole life, and for the past 5 years, I have cared for others in addition to my own. I have experience caring for dogs with special needs, and of all different sizes, breeds, and ages. I also have experience handling more aggressive breeds. I have watched both dogs and cats and love both! I’m very experienced in animal care and would love the opportunity to get to know your pet! I'm currently a student and also work part-time as a server, but my shifts are short and my schedule is very flexible—giving me plenty of time to care for your pup! I’m happy to work around your needs, whether it’s a specific time slot or an extended stay. I love spending time outdoors and would be thrilled to take your dog on a walk through the trails or for some fun at the park. Your dog’s happiness, exercise, and comfort are my top priorities! Watching your pet in your home means plenty of outdoor time—weather permitting, of course! We’ll play fetch, go for walks, and I’d be happy to take them on a trip to the dog park for some extra fun and socialization. My priority is to spend as much quality time as possible with your pet, keeping them happy, active, and well-cared for while you're away. You can rest easy knowing they’re in loving and attentive hands.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Heritage Place
Lauren was absolutely amazing! She cared for my three cats every day for two weeks while I was out of the country, and I truly felt completely at ease knowing they were with her. She was incredibly attentive by feeding them, playing with them every day, and consistently sending me photos and updates so I always knew how they were doing. She also went above and beyond the basic visits. Since I was away for so long, she was thoughtful about things like the temperature inside the house, taking out the trash, and making sure the litter and home stayed clean and fresh. It also seemed like she often stayed beyond the scheduled 30 minutes just to give the cats extra attention, which I really appreciated. Her communication was excellent throughout the entire trip, and it was obvious that she genuinely cared about my cats and their wellbeing. Having someone that reliable and attentive made being away from them for two weeks so much easier. I would absolutely hire Lauren again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone they can truly trust with their pets!

Markia did a wonderful job with my cat Norman, especially for it being her first time with him. She was very communicative throughout the entire process and followed all of my instructions carefully, including taking extra care with his food, Norman has no teeth, so his dry food needs to be softened with hot water, and she prepared it perfectly, even better than I usually do. I really appreciated the thoughtful touches, like putting out catnip for him, and I was pleasantly surprised that Norman came out for her, which says a lot given how shy he is. I would definitely book her again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Heritage Place. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
