About: I have done petsitting (cats and dogs) for over 15 years. Usually for animals where I personally know the owners and have spent time with the animal to create a bond/relationship. I want to full disclose with new perspective pets parents: I have a full time, in-office job with the standard business hours, Monday through Friday. If that's not what you are looking for in a house sitter, I understand. If I had a pet of my own, I would ensure all their needs are met. As a petsitter, I would to ensure their animal's life doesn't change or I could make it better in some small way especially since their parent(s) is gone I stay at the animal's home to care for them so their life isn't different than what it usually is for them. Changing their environment can be quite shocking and stressful to them. I try not change their lifestyle too much while the parent is gone

About: I love dogs and puppies and when I bought my home I was looking for a huge yard that was fenced in for dogs to play in. It also came with a dog door and ramp! Very dog friendly! My foster dogs and sitting made me become more aware of dog and puppy needs from playing, walking and cuddling! I also love to be outside so if your pup likes to explore I would love to take them on a hike or downtown! I currently have a flexible schedule and work from home. I do run errands where I may need to crate however I will discuss with you before hand. Your pup would be my priority! I have a fenced in yard and puppy door so if your dog is independent and wants more time outside they can safely do so. If not I can play in the yard or walk them in the neighborhood, park or downtown.

About: I have 2 large rescues that have been a part of my family for the last 9 years. When I lived in apartments, I helped watch other neighbors' dogs and always enjoyed getting to know them and learn about their routines, hobbies, and quirks. While my family never had a dog growing up, I love being around them now and could never go back to a life without them! Since I work part time at a local farm, and am only just getting my own farm up and running, I have a relatively flexible schedule from week to week, especially during the winter, early spring, and late fall. I am thorough when it comes to taking care of my dogs' health and safety, as well as the health and safety of all pets that are in my care. I am always vigilant about traffic while walking dogs near any roads, and am always careful of walking them near other animals. When in another's home I am respectful of boundaries and rules and always clean up after myself or any messes that a pet may make.

About: My full-time job is currently working at a boarding/daycare resort. I have worked with variety of dogs and cats. Whether they be older, younger, anxious or just a little crazy. I adore my job and I’m just looking to find some extra money on my off hours and days. I also have two animals myself! My lovely kitty Lady, and my longhaired white dachshund Mandy 🫶. I have given a variety of medications from injections, pills, supplements, ear eye and mouth drops, etc. I have zero issues administering medications. I have worked with two separate boarding/daycare facilities in the Madison area and surrounding areas. I am mostly available in the afternoons/late afternoons. I generally have two days off per week. With one weekend day off almost always. I would love to meet you and your family! I often have two full days off a week, however they are not on set days. I will update my availability as often as possible to help us both plan for care accordingly. I also leave work by 4:15pm at the latest. I will often have early and late afternoon into nighttime availability. I do not offer boarding in my own home currently due to my living situation. I’m a firm believer that animals are much more calm in their own environment. From working in boarding as long as I have, boarding outside of their own home can cause issues with eating, with digestion, with behavior, etc. It’s the least stressful to put a dog in their own space.

I’m especially comfortable with shy or anxious animals and will never force interaction before they are ready. I prioritize safe handling, secure doors and gates, and making sure pets cannot accidentally escape. I also respect your home by keeping things clean, following your instructions, and making sure everything is as you left it when I leave. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities.

About: I grew up with dogs, cats, and horses, and have experience in oral med administration with both cats and dogs. I have a soft spot for the big dogs (they're lap-sized if you commit!). I run half marathons so getting good exercise in will be no problem (even in Wisconsin weather!). I'm currently training for distance running, so you can expect great exercise for your pet! Whether it's a long meandering sniff-ari or an intense loop around the neighborhood, I would love to know what fits your dog best. As I'm in your home, your instructions are paramount. You know your pet better than anyone, and I am happy to keep their normal routines in place. I like getting to know each animal and their unique personality, and while I *love* giving snuggles and pets, I understand some pets prefer their space.

About: Hi! I'm AJ (Julie) the mama of Duncan, an energetic, sweet, and social Shepherd-Akita-Husky supermutt who turns 11 in August. He is a true pack animal and gets excited any time I tell him anyone is "coming over." Duncan will try to play with every dog who's down for a wrestle or run! Please note that I'm no longer taking boarding clients that are under 2 years old or unneutered. I've learned what works best for everyone, the capacity of my space, and my pup's comfort level. At age 10, my parents FINALLY agreed to adopt a dog, a shepherd hound mix that my bestie and I named while riding home in the van with the formerly "Belvie Joe" and a bag of Alpo. We were making up silly songs and combined the words to land on "Alphie." :) And as an adult, I am a second-time dog mom, as my former partner and I were lucky to have adopted the late, great Compay Pablito Bear, driving 6 hours to meet him and falling instantly in love. Those years in-between having a dog were rough! To fill the void, I rescued feral kittens, dog nannied for a cousin when she traveled for work, stayed at friends’ homes to watch pets while they were away, and leapt across traffic, lava and beds of nails to pet any dog in view! ;) [Sidebar: Thanks to the badass Detroit farmer Tuka who taught me how to hold a hen named Red, in Madison, I was able to carry a chicken named Poppy across the yard to her condo inside the coop in the rain. And one hot summer in the old meat packing district of Chicago, I was in charge of rabbits, ducks, hens and one very mean rooster.] I ask that your dog arrives with a collar that contains ID with name/contact, up-to-date rabies and city tags. And if your doggo has Dane County Dog Park tags + good park socializing experience, I’d love to take them with us on evening or weekend adventures. Meet and Greets Before dropping in to visit your cats or pick up a dog for walks, I will meet with you at your home and ask you to show me around. You can let me know which kitties are sneaky and which doors are tricky. Please be transparent about any concerns. If your pets are leery of strangers when you are not home, let me know this so we can strategize together. It’s important that we are all safe. If your cat does not like to be pet, but will engage with a dangling toy, great! Let me know this! If your pup is likely to run out of the crate and under the bed, let’s talk about how I can get the leash on in a way that makes them feel safe and not threatened. It’s all about love! Safety is important and I ask that parents don’t enter the yard, even if it’s your 100th visit. This eliminates any jealousy/resource guarding and subsequent behavior. In August 2024, I bought a house! It's a cozy space with a finished basement and huge fenced-in yard with a deck. The bigger space makes it easier for dogs needing quiet time away from others or to get their zoomies on. And as always, there's an endless supply of snuggles & scratches! No matter the critter, I'll happily refresh water, fill food bowls, administer medication, turn on fans, clean after their accidents, and fulfill other requests to ensure comfort. Look forward to meeting you! I am a freelance marketing writer and work from home, with flexible hours most days. I often have a dog or two draped around my neck or snuggled next to me—even during Zoom meetings! I do leave for up to an hour at a time to walk or transport dogs or drop in to care for cats. If I ever need to leave for more than a few hours, I make arrangements to have someone I trust drop in to let out the dogs. I fill my house with dog beds and furniture meant to share with the pups. Your babies can chase each other, dig for treasure in the spacious yard, or snooze and soak up vitamin D on the deck.

About: Hi! My name is Marcela, and I’m a lifelong animal lover with a special place in my heart for both dogs and cats. I have two dogs of my own, Chester and Athena. Chester is my small rescue dog, and I’ve had him since I was 9 years old. I truly grew up with him, and he has been by my side for most of my life. Chester is deaf, and as he’s gotten older, he has also developed anxiety and takes medication to help manage it. Over the years, I’ve learned how important patience, consistency, and understanding an animal’s individual needs can be. I communicate with Chester using hand signals and gentle body language, and caring for him has taught me so much about connecting with animals at every stage of life. Athena is my pit bull, and we love spending time outdoors with our animals. Whether we’re going for walks, playing, or simply enjoying the fresh air, I genuinely love giving animals attention, exercise, and plenty of affection. Athena has also had difficulty getting along with other dogs, so we worked with her through training to help her become more comfortable and learn how to interact appropriately. This has given me firsthand experience with the patience, structure, and careful management that some dogs need when around other animals. I also have hands on experience caring for a cat with significant medical needs. My cat, Fergi, was diagnosed with HCM and eventually developed end stage heart failure. During his illness, I became very familiar with the day to day care that comes with heart failure, including administering medications, monitoring his breathing, appetite, energy, and behavior, and paying close attention to small changes in his condition. Going through that experience also taught me how difficult it can be to leave your pet in someone else’s care when they’re sick or have special needs. I know how much worry can come with wondering if they’re okay while you’re away. Because of that, I want to be the kind of person who gives another pet parent that same sense of comfort and reassurance, knowing their pet is being watched over with patience, love, and genuine care. I absolutely love cats, and after recently losing Fergi, I’m not quite ready to bring another cat into my home yet. I would, however, love the opportunity to care for and spend time with other people’s cats. It would be really special to have that connection again while giving your cat the love and attention they deserve. I also take pride in the everyday care I give my own pets, including brushing my dogs’ teeth daily. I’m happy to provide routine care like this when requested, along with walks, playtime, feeding, medication, and plenty of companionship. Whether your pet is young, a senior, anxious, shy, energetic, or needs medication or extra patience, I’ll treat them with the same kindness and attentiveness I give my own.
