I try my best to replicate the pet's normal routine as best as I can with the instructions given to me by the owner. Whatever is best for the pet.
Information Sylvia L. would like to know about your pet
It’s important for me to know a pet’s daily routine, favorite activities, and any special needs. Things like feeding schedule, medical conditions or medications, litter box habits, and how they prefer to be approached all help me keep them comfortable. I also like to know about their personality—whether they’re shy, playful, or extra cuddly—so I can care for them in the way that makes them feel most at ease.
A typical day
Dogs--I'm a big fan of long walks. I like to walk through residential areas, but will adapt to the right environment for the dog, i.e. avoiding high foot traffic areas, reactivity triggers. Cats--I’ll keep your cat happy with playtime using toys, laser pointers, or whatever the favorite activity, plus plenty of cuddles and chin scratches if they want affection.

Pet care experience
I've been pet sitting in the Madison area during my entire time in undergrad and pharmacy school. My petting sitting experience has included dogs, cats, and birds. I am comfortable giving medication, both orally and injectable. I never shy away from those that need extra special medical attention and love. I've been fostering mostly dogs the last 6 years. While out in Montana for residency, I foster failed and moved back to Wisconsin with the sweetest lady, Sydney. Now that I am back in Madison and working part-time, I want to fill in my free time with walks, drop-ins, and occasional house-sitting (Sydney will stay home with my partner). My schedule is flexible. Always open to checking my calendar to see if your needed dates/time work!
Reviews

This was our first time having a dog sitter stay with our 2 dogs, one of which is highly anxious. Needless to say we were also feeling nervous about it, but Sylvia was a gem. Before our trip she was willing to come by several times to let our dogs familiarize themselves with her so by the time it came to our trip, the dogs felt like they were just seeing a friend, not a stranger. Sylvia sent daily updates/photos. It was such a relief to know our dogs were being well taken care of which also allowed us to relax and enjoy our trip.

Sylvia watched our 3 dogs while we were gone for a long weekend. She sent us updates and let us know when she got there and when she was leaving. She was great!!!

Sylvia did an amazing job! Everything went smoothly and she was flexible with care given the extremely cold weather. We highly recommend and will definitely be a repeat customer.

Sylvia was consistent and prompt with her visits and updates of our two cats. She was attentive and accommodating to our needs for a date change, plant watering, and trash pickup. We’ll certainly rebook her.
