“Courtney is wonderful with my dogs. I can always go away and feel comfortable leaving them with. I appreciate every thing she does for them and I know they will be safe and well taken care of.”

“Jeremy was amazing! He and his wife were so kind and thoughtful. Heinz really enjoyed his time there. They sent photos every day to include our dog in a Steelers jersey while we were at the game. Highly recommend”

“My two cavapoos had the best time and Samantha was very responsive with updates to ease my anxiety about leaving them for so long! I would highly recommended trusting her with your fur babies!”

“My cat is anxious and shy and Audrey did a great job keeping her comfortable. She was very responsive and I received regular updates. My cat didn’t want to leave her at the end haha. Would recommend her to anyone. Thanks for everything! 🩷”

“Bruce had a great time with Gemma and Gizmo! We received regular updates and adorable photos. He loved playing with all the toys and of course snuggling! We will definitely be back - thanks Gemma!”

“Damara was wonderful! She was very caring and thoughtful with Theo. From the pictures and communication I could tell that Theo enjoyed his time with Demara and her daughter. Would definitely rebook in the future!”

“Sara was perfect. I booked her last minute for the first time and she did an amazing job caring for my dogs, one of which is a senior dog that needs special care. I was very anxious to leave her but Sara was very reassuring and communicated very well. She didn’t miss a beat giving my dog her medications and sent plenty of updates. When I picked my dogs up, I could just tell they were comfortable and had a great stay. Absolutely plan to use Sara again.”

“Michael was wonderful! We have two huskies, both with different personalities. I was worried about our youngest as she can be the most rambunctious, but Michael has dog training skills and the most patience. They really loved staying with him and it put our hearts at ease because it’s never been like this when boarding at a facility. We hope he will do it again for us!”

“Lindsay and her family were so sweet and accommodating. They went out of their way to learn about my puppy and sent updates. They were there when I needed them. Thank you!”

About: I’ve cared for a variety of different dog breeds over the last 15 years. I was the owner of two Schnauzer’s for 13 years. I was the neighborhood dog watcher while growing up and have a history of dog sitting for friends and family members. I work full time as a Child Development Specialist and can create my own schedule so I have lots of AM and PM flexibility to meet the needs of your pet. I have 15 years of experience in caring for house trained and crate trained pets. My neighborhood has lots of sidewalks which makes walks safe and enjoyable.
“Sebastian and his wife were wonderful to our small dog Daisy. I could tell she was well-loved during her six-night stay. Sebastian sent us a few pictures throughout her stay which showed she was having a good time. We were thankful that Sebastian is very courteous and quick to respond to any text messages. We would gladly book another stay with Sebastian. Thank you so much!”

“This was our first time leaving our dog Dunkin with non family members. Adam and Debbie were fantastic. Dunkin was extremely comfortable, & we knew he was going to be more than happy. Debbie sent us photos through out our vacation & it was so comforting to see him being so relaxed. If we ever need another dog sitter in the future , they will 100000% be the first people we call!”

“This was our first time using Rover, and Christine made it an unforgettable experience!! Normally we board our dogs, but since we were going on a short weekend trip we wanted to try something different. Christine made the entire process super stress-free. We dropped our pups off at her home, where she let us inside and gave us a rundown of what she'd be doing each day for them (how many times she takes them for walks, where they sleep, etc.). It made me feel so much better knowing exactly where they'd be staying and the details of their care! Christine sent several pictures each day with updates on how they were doing, which made this anxious dog-mom feel at ease. She truly cared for our dogs as if they were her own - she even sent them home with handmade bow-ties for their collars :') Any time we need to go out of town for a few days again, we're booking with Christine!! 10000/10 would absolutely recommend.”

About: I’ve owned dogs for 30 years, including an English Bulldog and a French Bulldog. I have firsthand experience caring for medically complex, high-maintenance dogs and understand the patience, attention, and consistency they need. After recently losing my Frenchie, I miss being around dogs, but I am not ready to own another one yet. I’d give your dog dependable, attentive care while enjoying their company. I’m retired, so my schedule is flexible. I have plenty of time to give your pets the attention, companionship, and care they need. Pet care will easily fit into my daily and weekly routine. I’m also available during weekdays, when many pet owners are at work. In my home, dogs are family and welcome throughout the house. We have a securely fenced yard and a gated porch for safe outdoor time. I can crate your dog if that is part of their normal routine, or they are welcome to sleep in a bed if preferred.
“Our pup just spent the last week with Christy and it went really well! I’m always nervous to board her but this was the second time we’ve been able to have Christy watch her and I definitely was a lot less anxious about it. We had no issues at all and she was extremely prompt with communication as well as pick up and drop off. We appreciate you making this so easy for us!”

“Josh rocks! Our fur girl, Kelly, had a great sitting experience with Josh. He provided superior care including long walks and, just as importantly, he really enjoyed Kelly's company. Josh provided regular photo and video updates - a great additional service. I strongly recommend considering Josh for your pet sitting needs!”

“Emily and her family were wonderful with Daisy. They sent lots of photos and updates during her stay and were very attentive to her needs. We will definitely be asking them to watch Daisy again.”

“This was our first time leaving our 9 month old Golden Retriever, and we were all anxious. Sklyer was very kind and understanding about our nervousness, and she was a great communicator. We received pictures and updates daily, and Copper was well taken care of and seemed to have a great time. We were able to enjoy our Christmas trip to see family knowing he was in good hands. I would recommend Sklyer, and certainly have Copper stay with her again.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Heidelberg
Julia was an absolutely wonderful dog sitter, and we highly recommend her! She is an excellent communicator and sent us numerous photos and updates throughout each day, which gave us great peace of mind and allowed us to see how happy and well cared for our girl was. We have had the pleasure of meeting many excellent dog sitters through Rover, and we are delighted to have found someone as caring, attentive, and trustworthy as Julia. Our dog, JJ, is older and does best in a calm environment where she can maintain her familiar routine. Julia understood how important this was and did a wonderful job ensuring JJ felt comfortable and keeping her on her usual schedule. When we picked JJ up, she seemed content, relaxed, and happy, which told us everything we needed to know! It is such a relief to find someone we can trust to care for our beloved girl with the same thoughtfulness and attention we would give her ourselves. We would happily book Julia again and wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable, and attentive sitter.

Amber was fantastic with our pup! She sent us daily, detailed updates along with pictures. She took great care of him, and even cleaned out his ear when she noticed he was scratching at it. She even sent us home with a very kind little goody bag including some pictures of him! She is a true dog person, and I'd definitely recommend her! We expect to rebook in the future!

Jessica is a gem. My dog, Aimee, is a delicate Maltese. Aimee's had knee surgery for MPL, common in this breed. Aimee limped once, after daycare. Aimee's also had gastric reflux and she requires a special diet. I sought someone who could give Aimee special attention. Jessica is an excellent caregiver/dog sitter. Aimee has fun there!! Boarding Aimee, I can vacation with ease, while Aimee vacations with Jess.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Heidelberg home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Heidelberg.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Heidelberg sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in PA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
