About: I have nurtured, trained and rehabbed cats, dogs and farm animals for decades and find it incredibly rewarding. I provide a safe and loving environment. I am available for daycare or boarding 24/7, 365 days a year. My services are available year-round and my rates do not increase seasonally or for holidays. I have a 3/4 acre fully fenced yard with secured gates for our 2 dogs. My cats live in the 3 room 'kitty condo' indoors.
About: I've always had a special connection with dogs. Ever since primary school, I volunteered to walk all my neighbors' dogs and would stay to play with them for hours—tug-of-war and frisbee were our favorites. I've walked dogs of all sizes, sometimes up to three at a time. Getting my own puppy was the best thing in the world for me, and I naturally have endless patience for animals. Throughout college, I walked and sat for my piano professor's dog for years—around the neighborhood, and I also drove him to dog parks and beaches. On top of that, I've volunteered at an animal shelter, cleaning dog and cat rooms and socializing with the animals. I currently can't have a dog of my own because I fly in and out for work. That's why I'm doing this part-time — it's never an assembly line for me. Each dog gets my full, individual attention, and I truly make friends with every one of them. I'm a sound designer and composer working on contract-based stage productions, which gives me a flexible schedule. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine — I walk dogs at least three times a day, feed them as many times as requested, and make sure they get plenty of playtime outside of my work hours. Since I'm not working a rigid 9-to-5, I can easily adjust my day around each dog's needs, whether that means extra cuddles, a longer walk, or a spontaneous trip to the dog park. Plus, because I fly in and out for work and can't have my own dog right now, caring for other people's dogs is something I genuinely look forward to and prioritize every single day. I live in a first-floor condo apartment in a neighborhood with lots of green areas — perfect for dogs who love quick potty breaks and longer sniffing walks. I let dogs free roam throughout my home and they're absolutely allowed on furniture. I treat every dog as if they were my own, which means lots of freedom, comfort, and attention. Since I do this part-time, I never have more than two unfamiliar dogs at once, so each dog gets a calm, focused environment. I'm extremely respectful of their space and routines — I follow all feeding, walking, and medication instructions to the letter, and I always leave things cleaner than I found them.
“Alana and family were great hosts for our little Xena. They treated her like family and took care of her without any issue. They have an adorable doggy area, went on walks and cuddled a bunch! Xena was very happy :) thank you and can’t wait for our next stay!”

“Great communication, clean and safe environment, and most importantly, Cody had a good time 🙂. Thank you so much for taking such a good care of my furbaby.”

“Amber did very good care for our golden retriever Daisy. She updated us with details and pictures about Daisy’s stay. Also Amber replied on any of our requests very promptly. We will be booking more services with her for our dog soon.”

“Finding Cheri has been a Godsend. This is the first time we've ever needed daycare and we were hesitant to leave Otto with anyone. On top of that we had a few other experiences with people who were unreliable. Cheri, above all else, is a dog lover in every sense of the word. I see it from the way she greets Otto in the morning, to the way that she texts me during the day to tell me whats he's doing or asking if he can do certain things, to seeing how tired he is at the end of the day from a day of full activity. Cheri walks him, takes him on runs and she and her boys play with him in the backyard all day long. I couldn't be happier with everything she does and recommend her highly to anyone looking to find a safe and healthy place to leave their dog with complete peace of mind.”
“Sarah was amazing with my Dexter! He has anxiety from a dog attack and is skittish - she handled him beautifully and he had an absolute blast! She took great care with grouping dogs together to make sure they played appropriately and also ensured he had downtime to relax. I will absolutely use Sarah again for daycare and walks!”

“Perry had a great time and was delightfully tired from her play, after her stay with Melissa. It’s so nice to know there is a place that will care for my elderly, high maintenance, dog.”

“We first met Alyssa during a meet and greet with our dog, Molly. Coming from a rescue center with a difficult past, Molly can be a bit challenging. We’ve been showering her with love, and Alyssa immediately connected with her energy. Throughout the day, she kept us updated with messages and photos, which we truly appreciated. Alyssa, thank you! We’re looking forward to Molly staying with you next weekend.”

“Theresa was a great dog sitter very attentive and caring. She sent updates, which I really appreciated, and my pup was clearly happy and well taken care of.She didn’t even want to leave when I picked her up! I would definitely use her again.”

About: From reptiles to horses, i've been working in animal hospitals, hotels, petsitting and rescues for more than half my life. Love every type of animal and treat them always like my own. I have been in this industry for about 18years. It’s truly a passion of mine to ensure the best care is provided and to give owners peace of mind when they have to leave their pets or be able to help those who have never had to care for a hurt/sick fur baby. I have an American bully named Apex, a cat named Whiskey, 2 conures and a ball python. I am no stranger to the care and comfort needs of all breeds and species of animals. They are all loved and cared for diligently to make sure they feel at home and comfortable in any surrounding
About: I have experience caring for dogs of all ages, from puppies to senior dogs. I currently own four dogs: two adult Belgian Malinois, a German Shepherd puppy, and a senior Shih Tzu mix. I have crate trained and potty trained multiple puppies and am familiar with the time, patience, and consistency required for successful training. Through caring for both high-energy working breeds and senior dogs, I have experience managing different exercise needs, routines, temperaments, and levels of care. I am committed to providing a safe, structured, and positive environment for every dog in my care. I am home most of the time and provide full-time care for the dogs in my home. Because I am available throughout the day, dogs receive regular supervision. I have a securely fenced yard where dogs can safely go outside for potty breaks and exercise. I am comfortable reinforcing crate training when needed and believe crates are a valuable tool for safety and routine. My own dogs are crate trained and are crated when they cannot be directly supervised to ensure their safety and prevent unwanted behaviors. I provide a structured, safe, and supervised environment while making sure each dog receives plenty of attention, care, and opportunities to play and relax.
“My dog is so comfortable with Cynthia! Although there are big dogs at her house, she has gating throughout the house and yard to ensure that a little dog is always feeling safe!”

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
