“Larysa was so kind, patient, attentive to my pet. She and her husband are both caring people, have a clean, calm home, and I felt completely comfortable leaving my dog with them and their dog. I will book again with her.”

“Mattey and her fiance Wyatt took GREAT care of our two dogs over a long weekend. This was our first time using Rover and leaving the dogs with someone, so I was pretty nervous and worried they'd be a handful. Mattey sent me frequent photos and videos, along with reassuring notes that everyone was getting along great. Our dogs were tired and happy when we picked them up, and I'm very grateful to Mattey for making this a great experience. We'll be using Mattey again in the future every time we need a dog sitter - I recommend her 100%!”

“My puppy had a great time with Samantha and Braden! She was excited at drop-off and happy and tired at pickup. They sent photos/updates while our dog was in their care. Kept things easy for us!”

“Shayla is very responsive and great to work with. She treats your dog like one of her own. She has an awesome large fenced in back yard with so much space to play. I loved all the pictures and updates she sends. Will definitely be back for more stays!”

“Definitely recommend! Leslie was loved as their own. We received updates and pictures while we were gone which was so nice. They asked lots of questions and made sure they got to know her before we left. Again definitely recommend and will use in the future!”

“Had an amazing experience with Amber. She took care of Milo when we just arrived in the city. My dog is very anxious but felt so comfortable around her family. I will recommend her to everyone.”

“This was my first time using Rover and/or boarding our cat. Maria was so kind and thoughtful with answering all my questions and giving updates! Every picture she sent really showed how comfortable my cat was getting and that she was making sure to give him love and attention. We would absolutely use her again and recommend her to anyone.”

About: Hi! I’m Jaden! An animal lover, active homebody, and someone who truly understands how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet. 🤍 I strive to create a calm, loving, and comfortable environment where pets feel safe, cared for, and genuinely welcomed.. not just “watched.” Whether your pet loves adventure, playtime, cuddles, slow mornings, or simply having someone nearby, I do my best to match their individual needs and personality. I have experience with both dogs and cats of various ages, temperaments, and energy levels through Rover as well as personal pet care experience. I’m especially attentive to communication and love keeping pet parents updated with thoughtful messages, photos, and little moments throughout their stay so you can feel connected and at ease while away. A little about me: • Active lifestyle — great for walks, play, and enrichment • Calm and patient personality • Clean, cozy, pet-loving environment • Comfortable with routines, medications, and special instructions • Big believer that pets deserve love, structure, and safety I know every animal is different, and I truly care about making sure they feel secure, comfortable, and loved while in my care. I’d love the opportunity to meet you and your pet! 🐾 I have a pretty flexible work schedule so I can accommodate to most last minute needs. Personal preference would be afternoons for walking dogs but of course any time you need, I will make work! Besides from outdoor play, indoor environmental stimulation is also a priority. I love to snuggle with animals to establish safety and trust. My cat has her own cat tree that she loves as well.
“Justin and his family did an awesome job taking care of Mr. Wiggins while we were gone! Good communication and care, he was so relaxed when we picked him up, so we could tell he loved staying with his new friends. Thanks to all of you, from Wiggy!”

“Amy is very pleasant and responded in a timely manner to messages. Rori was well taken care of and in good spirits when we picked her up. I would be very comfortable leaving her with Amy and Trevor again.”

“Mikayla was wonderful once again. I have had her watch my puppy 3 times now for 3 to 4 days at a time and my puppy seems relaxed when I go to pick him up! I would definently recommend her to anyone!”

“We are SO happy with the care Marnie/Jeffery & family gave to our Luna! They went above and beyond for our girl and kept us updated as they watched her! We couldn’t be happier and will definitely bring our girl back to them! This was our first time using Rover and we could be happier with the care Luna got and how affordable!! THANK YOU!”

“She was great, she gave me updates and pictures of how my Buddy was doing as it was my first experience using Rover and I highly recommended her for doggy boarding!!”

“Nichole and her sons Jackson and William were awesome!! Buddy loved them.. they sent pictures and videos of them playing and napping and running in their huge yard several times throughout the 2 1/2 wks watching him! He was treated so well we were afraid he wouldn’t want to come home 😜 We were so grateful for the great care! They are a great family with a great home! Thanx so much!”

“I booked Justin last minute and couldn’t be happier with the experience! From the moment we connected, he was super responsive, professional, and genuinely caring. My dog immediately felt comfortable, and I got regular updates (with the cutest photos!) that gave me total peace of mind. It’s clear Justin truly loves animals and takes his work seriously. When we got home, my pup was happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. I feel beyond lucky to have found such a fantastic sitter on short notice. Highly, highly recommend – will definitely book again!”

About: Animals have always been part of my life, and caring for them comes naturally to me. I grew up in a home full of pets and now have two cats of my own, so I understand how important it is to find someone you genuinely trust with your animals while you’re away. Outside of pet care, I work as a speech-language pathologist for the SFSD. My work has shaped me into someone who is patient, kind, communicative, and attentive to individual needs- qualities I also bring into caring for pets. My schedule is flexible during the summer, which gives me more availability for walks, drop-ins, and select boarding requests. Once the school year begins, I’ll primarily be available during evenings, weekends, and school breaks. I live in a cozy and spacious home in Sioux Falls and can host small, calm dogs who are cat-friendly and comfortable in a new environment. For drop-ins or walks, I’m happy to follow your pet’s routine closely so they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away.
“Heather was so great watching our dog Buster! They were very welcoming to him. She sent me some pictures and updates about how he was doing throughout his stay which was so nice! Heather is super fast with communication and was flexible with what we needed for drop off and pick up. Overall it was a really great experience! I would definitely recommend Heather and we would absolutely have our dog stay with her family again!”

About: Is the thought of leaving your dog in a boarding facility with strangers where they won’t get one on one attention causing you grief? Working from home means I’m here all day to give your pup the attention they deserve, and they will be treated like family. With two Chihuahuas and a Shiba Inu of my own, I’ve got plenty of experience with little dogs—including the “spicy” ones that not everyone has patience for. We love the yappers and nappers in this house! Here’s what your dog can expect: • Safe playtime in a fully fenced-in backyard • Lots of love and snuggles • Flexible care to match their routine (feeding, potty breaks, meds if needed) • Updates galore with photos and videos so you know they’re happy I specialize in caring for small to medium sized dogs, just like my own, and can separate pups from mine as needed depending on temperament. Big dogs are great, but this daycare is designed for the little ones! 🐶 If you’ve got a small pup who needs a safe, loving place to spend the day (or night!), I’d love to welcome them into my home. I work remotely from home, so my schedule for pet care is somewhat flexible. For daycare in my home, I do not take more than two dogs at a time as I want to be sure both my dogs and your dogs are getting sufficient attention. I’m very open to quick drop-in visits for feeding and potty breaks at your home as needed during the day and early evening. I have two Chihuahuas and a Shiba Inu, and they’re definitely spoiled! Since I work from home, they get lots of attention, playtime in the backyard every few hours, and plenty of evening snuggles. On nice days, we take the younger pups for leashed walks. My oldest dog is recently disabled, so I’m experienced with giving extra care like carrying her outside, assisting with walking, helping with potty breaks, and administering medication daily. We don’t have kids, so our dogs truly are our babies. Any dog staying with us will get the same love and care. Our multi-level home also makes it easy to separate dogs if needed, depending on temperament. I’m very communicative and will send as many photo and video updates as you’d like so you always feel connected.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Hartford
My husband and I left our 3 dogs with Melissa for 4 days and she took great care of them! Our dogs had never stayed with a sitter before, so I was nervous to leave them, but she made the transition easy and they were more than comfortable at her home. One of our dogs is very anxious and tends to be fearful of new people, and even she settled in well and seemed content during her stay. Melissa also did a wonderful job caring for our senior dog and keeping up with her medication schedule, as well as handling our youngest dog who is still learning his manners. She kept us updated throughout the trip with daily photos and messages, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. It was clear that our dogs were being well cared for and getting plenty of attention. We came home to three happy pups and would absolutely book with Melissa again. Highly recommend!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
