“Im sure Gus would have liked to go on vacation with us, but I'm pretty sure he would give Annettes house five stars too. He got all the love and attention that he desires and he came home a happy boy!”

About: I’ve been caring for animals my entire life, from dogs and cats to horses and other pets, at every stage of life. I’m comfortable with puppies, seniors, and pets who need extra patience and care, including bathing and tending to their individual needs. Above all, I genuinely love animals and treat every pet in my care with the same compassion, attention, and respect I would give my own. I unfortunately recently got laid off. So I have plenty of time to dedicate to caring for your beloved pets. Most weekends I like to spend with my family but I am willing to work something out. I have a beautiful neighborhood with just shy of half a mile walk around the block for pets that need walking. Our home provides a nice open floor plan for bigger animals to feel right at home. If I'm coming to your neck of the woods then we'll discuss a pre-approved walking path that everyone feels comfortable with.
“I'm always nervous about leaving my Noodles with other people. Noods is not great with dogs and she takes forever to get used to new people. She's a rescue, she's very timid and it takes a lot of patience with her. Ashlyn did a great job with providing pictures and updates everyday for me. Noodles clearly took to her fairly quickly and on day 2 didn't hesitate to jump up on her bed next to her. Ashlyn showed her a lot of attention and love. I wouldn't hesitate to book with Ashlyn again. I appreciate all she did for me while I was at Ocean City for a week.”

“Tucker was well adjusted when he got home, which is a good sign he was comfortable being away for us for 5 days. He also did better with dropping the ball after fetch so I think Jordan's training skills rubbed off on him too. :)”

“Madyson was excellent with my dog Copper! His stay with her and Sparky involved lots of play time, cuddles, and great communication with us! Madyson is very attentive with any needs Copper has. I would highly recommend her!”

“Reggie had a great stay & got some good socialization. I was kept in the loop with pictures & status updates, which I appreciated! Reggie will miss his new friend Athena”

“Tamakia was very great with communication from the start. She gave my dog the attention he needed and sent updates and pics throughout his stay. He received plenty of outside time and was able to make himself at home during his stay.”

“Tara was great! She has a calm and gentle demeanor about her, so much that my high-strung anxious 1 yr old Maltese-Shih Tzu pup went right with her. It helped that his litter-mate was with him, but that's not always the case. She kept me informed of how they were doing thru videos and pics. I will definitely hire her again!”

About: I’ve been an animal lover my entire life and have experience caring for pets of all shapes, sizes, and personalities! I currently have two Basset Hounds, ages 3 and 4, two 9-year-old pigs who are kept completely separate from the dogs, and a cat. I grew up with German Shepherds and reptiles, and over the years I’ve also had Great Danes, hamsters, ferrets, crayfish, and plenty of other animal friends. I’m comfortable with everything from big dogs to small animals, and I understand that every pet has their own routine, quirks, and comfort level. I know how hard it can be for pets when their people are away, so my biggest priority is making them feel safe, comfortable, loved, and as at home as possible. Whether that means lots of attention and playtime, a good walk, couch cuddles, or simply giving a more independent pet their space, I’m happy to follow their lead. I’ll treat your pets like I’d want someone to treat my ow, with patience, affection, and plenty of attention. 🐾 I am currently home all day and night most week days and some weekends. Your pets will be loved on constantly the entire time they are here. My two Bassets love having company and are always up for playing or cuddling. There’s plenty of couch space for dogs who like to snuggle, and they even have access to the bed—with stairs! I’m happy to accommodate both the social butterfly who wants to be part of everything and the dog who would rather have some space to relax. I don’t have a fully fenced-in yard, but I have plenty of yard space in a quiet neighborhood. There is a small, short fenced area directly off the porch with a patch of grass for quick potty breaks. Dogs can also be taken outside on a leash or tethered, depending on what they’re accustomed to and what their owner prefers. I’m also very accustomed to accidents in the house—one of my Bassets, Polly, has them regularly—so a dog who isn’t perfectly house-trained, has occasional accidents, or needs more frequent potty breaks is absolutely not a problem. I have an XL crate if that is something they prefer. My other Basset, Hank has bad anxiety and takes daily medications so that is not a problem either. Most importantly, I know being away from their people and usual surroundings can be stressful for pets. I want your dog to feel like they’re staying at a second home rather than just being boarded somewhere. I’ll do my best to stick to their routine, learn their quirks, give them plenty of attention, and make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved until you’re back 🐾❤️
“Rebecca was a great puppy sit for my dog Ruby! She took Ruby in the car, kept her active, and had smooth checkins. Very grateful for how easy Rebecca made it for me and Ruby. Thank you so much!”

“Maple loved her stay! She and Luna became best friends, and I know they tired each other out! Lucas did a great job sending pics every day and letting me know how things were going. Would definitely book again!”

“Deanna was great and able to work with my 60-pound deaf puppy, and Maxwell loved having fellow dog friends to spend time with. Came back absolutely tuckered out.”

“Coralee and her family welcomed Baxter and he loved being there. I was concerned because Baxter has a health issue that he has to get pill 3 times a day and I was worried that he wouldn't take them but Coralee said he took them like a champ. I would highly recommend Coralee”

“Ali was sweet and sent us pictures of our pup while she dogs at over a weekend. She was friendly with us and our pup in our introduction a few days before our weekend away and provided great care while we were gone.”

“Erin did a great job taking care of my two cats for 10 days while we went on vacation. I got daily photos and updates. She listened carefully to my needs and concerns and we had a video call so I could feel comfortable leaving my kitties with her. She was even able to give my cats their medicine before they got in the car to go home and accommodated a time/day change when I wanted to pick them up a day early. Erin is great and I hope I can book with her again. Thank you!!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Harrison City
Jillian was fantastic! This was our first time using Rover and the experience exceeded our expectations. She offers one client at a time service which was bonus since we have a senior paced dog and a crazy puppy. Jillian was extremely responsive and provided pictures daily. Her fenced in backyard was great and the dogs really enjoyed roaming around. We will definitely use Jillian again on our next vacation without the dogs!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in PA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
