“Jordan was absolutely wonderful with our fur baby, Sugar! She took the time to let Sugar warm up at her own pace, and by the end of the sitting, our girl was completely cuddled up with her. We received gorgeous picture updates and fantastic communication throughout, so we never had a single worry. Jordan was also incredibly respectful of our home. We will definitely try to book her every time we need care for our baby!”

About: I've taken care of dogs for 10 years. I've owned a American Pit Bull Terrier, fostered a German shepherd, and cared for a mini poodle. You can sleep peacefully knowing that I will care for your pet as if it was my own. I am a full time student but mostly online and goes to on site class twice a week for two hours. But you can put your trust in knowing your pet will receive the proper attention plus more. Both early morning/ late evening walks plus lots of play time. I have a extra play room for your pet and 2 dogs parks that are a quick walk to get to. Animals are not allowed on the furniture but are always free to roam my home. If needed I can crate your pet as well. If overnight boarding is required for longer than 3 days, bathing will be provided.
“Carmen was amazing with our furbabies! (Two of our dogs are shy and she won them over immediately). I loved receiving daily pictures and videos!! We came home to a clean home and happy animals! We will definitely be booking again!”

“JMark was absolutely wonderful. He kept us updated throughout each day he watched our babies with pictures and videos. We were worried that our Malinois would not accept him and she took to him right away. She was attached to him so much so that when we came back it felt like she wanted him instead of us.🤣 JMark is definitely our man for next bookings.”

“Hailey was able to stay with our pups for a few hours and it was perfect!! The dogs were happy and Hailey sent pictures to us while we were away. She will be my go-to person!! Can't wait to get away for a weekend ☺️.”

About: I have taken care of different animals since I was very little. I’ve cared for dogs, cats, horses, goats, fish, birds, bunnies and even a chinchilla. I’ll take care and love your animals like I do my own. I work a full time job but I can come early In the morning and around 5 in the evening . I try to be as flexible with your needs and wants for your animals. I have 2 cats who are polar opposites. One loves to snuggle and the other hides in our room like she’s a 16 year old teenager. We love them both as they are and cater to what each of them needs.
“I contacted Canija due to a no show from a previous sitter. I was out of town and needed immediate care for my dogs at home. She responded promptly and showed up at the agreed upon time. My dogs seemed to be well taken care of and my home was in the same state I left it in. She stayed in touch and didn't hesitate to ask questions. I will definitely use Canija again.”

“We could not have been more happy with Tammie taking care of our pups ! She did an amazing job. She always stayed in communication with us whether by sending updates via text or sending pictures and videos of our pups. It was also obvious that our pups developed a bond with Tammie. which is extra comforting. We truly knew that our pups were in the right hands and our pups knew also. We will definitely call on Tammie again. Thank you Tammie !”

“Sydney was great! It was my dog’s first pet sitter experience and she was patient with him getting used to her, and had good communication throughout the day. He looked like he was having a great time with her. We definitely will book with her again in the future!”

About: What sets me apart is the level of care and attention I give to every pet as if they were my own. I don’t just “watch” pets—I build trust with them, learn their personalities, and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and genuinely happy while you’re away. I have experience working with pets of all ages and needs, including puppies who are still learning routines and senior pets who need extra patience and gentle care. I’m comfortable reinforcing basic training (like potty schedules, leash manners, and crate training) and sticking closely to any routines you’ve already established at home. For older pets, I pay close attention to mobility, medication schedules, and making sure they’re relaxed and stress-free. I’m intentional about not overbooking so I can give each pet the attention they deserve. In a client’s home, I’m very respectful of both the space and the pet’s environment. I keep things clean, stick to their normal routine, and make sure your pet feels secure in their familiar surroundings. If pets are in my home, they’ll have a calm, safe, and supervised environment with plenty of attention, playtime, and rest.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Hampton
I cannot even describe how happy my husband and I are that we found Samantha. I am a paranoid and stressed out pet mother. We also have quite a few animals and species to take care of. Our house can be quite intimidating. Samantha was nothing but excited the entire time. We were gone Saturday to Saturday. She was communicative the entire time, sweet with my animals, and the perfect person to let me enjoy my vacation without stress. I thought I'd be living on my phone to watch the cameras but I did not. I was stress free and knew my animals were in good care. During her care, my cats broke a lamp and ate some of her food. Theyre quite crazy. My dogs acted a fool. She handled it all professionally and with grace. My rooster would not let her approach his hens and she found a work around for their care. I would def recommend her! She treats your pets as her own. ❤️

Jordan was absolutely wonderful with our fur baby, Sugar! She took the time to let Sugar warm up at her own pace, and by the end of the sitting, our girl was completely cuddled up with her. We received gorgeous picture updates and fantastic communication throughout, so we never had a single worry. Jordan was also incredibly respectful of our home. We will definitely try to book her every time we need care for our baby!

Jordan is amazing with our Sugar. The pictures and videos she takes the time to send are a perfect treat for us when we are away from our girl. Jordan went above and beyond to help me out with watering some outdoor plants. We appreciate her communication and love for Sugar in our absence.

She was absolutely fantastic! She went above and beyond in every way. She brushed my dog, made sure he was happy and well cared for, and even took great care of my ferret too. On top of that, she cleaned my house without me ever asking, which completely blew me away. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing my pets and home were in such good hands. I would 100% book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone!

Samantha loved on our girl like her own. Not only was our pup well taken care of, but our house looks wonderful, too! She is thoughtful with updates and pictures and it’s obvious our girl was comfortable with Samantha. They even weathered a storm together! Thank you, Samantha for going above and beyond. We will definitely ask for you again!

FAQs for House Sitting - Hampton
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Hampton on Rover is $42.18 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 2,720 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Hampton. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hampton walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hampton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hampton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hampton. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
