“Lanae took great care of my dog and was an excellent communicator. She not only sent photos but detailed updates about how things were going & what my dog was doing. I look forward to having Lanae back (I already booked her for a second time :)”

“Megan is beyond amazing!! She’s watched our babies for the past 3 times we’ve gone out of town, and I’m able to actually enjoy my time away because I know they are in incredible hands. She sends us daily photos of them and loves our doodles as if they are her own. We love Megan so so much!”

“We booked with Rachel for a 4 night trip to stay in our home and dog sit. Prior to booking, we had a meet and greet. From the beginning it was clear to us that she was passionate about animals. We were taken away at her previous experiences with rescues and fostering and could tell immediately that she would take great care of our baby. Rachel was very professional and respectful of our home. She was very considerate and informative, keeping us up to date throughout the day with her interactions with our baby. She was flexible and accommodating to any of our requests. We would absolutely trust her again to take care of our home and fur baby.”

“Madison was very kind and attentive to the dogs. She made sure they got meds, potty breaks and play time. I loved she kept us updated while gone and sent pictures. We’d definitely use her again!”

“We could not have been more happy with Tammie taking care of our pups ! She did an amazing job. She always stayed in communication with us whether by sending updates via text or sending pictures and videos of our pups. It was also obvious that our pups developed a bond with Tammie. which is extra comforting. We truly knew that our pups were in the right hands and our pups knew also. We will definitely call on Tammie again. Thank you Tammie !”

“Carmen was amazing with our furbabies! (Two of our dogs are shy and she won them over immediately). I loved receiving daily pictures and videos!! We came home to a clean home and happy animals! We will definitely be booking again!”

“We are so happy that we found Heather. ❤she sent lots of pics and updates on our dogs 🐕. They seem very happy. The house was cleaner than I left it.we will definitely use her next time we travel.”

She was respectful of our home and we came back to it in the exact same state that we left it in. It was so nice to go out of town and know that our dogs were well taken care of the entire time.”

“James is fantastic! He has watched our dog (and house) several times. It is obvious that he loves animals and he is very neat and conscientious staying at our house. It has been so helpful having someone we trust to take care of things while we are gone. Highly recommend!”

“Diana was great! She did a fantastic job. She kept us informed of how things were going and sent us photos throughout her stay. Would definitely recommend her to anyone and hope to book her again!”
About: With 10+ years of experience caring for dogs and cats in their homes, I understand how important it is for your pets to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you're away. I have experience caring for everything from young puppies to senior dogs, including multiple dogs in one household and high-energy dogs who need plenty of exercise and attention. I’m comfortable following individualized routines, including special diets and oral or topical medications/treatments. I’m also happy to learn and follow your pet’s specific care instructions to make sure their routine stays as consistent as possible while you’re away. For active dogs, I’m more than happy to match their energy—I’m willing to go on whatever length of walk is appropriate for their needs rather than treating exercise as a one-size-fits-all service. Whether your dog needs a long walk and lots of playtime or prefers a quiet, relaxed day at home, I’ll tailor their care to them. I know that house sitting is about more than just caring for your pets. I’ll treat your home with the same respect and care I would want someone to show my own, and I’ll make sure your pets receive plenty of attention, companionship, and affection while you’re away. I currently have a very flexible schedule and am available most days for pet care, including daytime visits, walks, and overnight house sitting. I have plenty of time to dedicate to your pets and can accommodate their individual routines and needs. My availability will become more limited when I begin my full-time position later this year, but I will keep my Rover calendar up to date and only accept bookings I can give my full attention to. When caring for your pets in your home, I treat both your pets and your home with the same care and respect I would want for my own. I follow your instructions and your pets’ normal routines closely, including feeding, medications, exercise, and other special care needs. I’m attentive to safety and will make sure your pets are secure and comfortable throughout my stay or visit. I’m also happy to provide regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind while you’re away.

“I had such a great experience! From the moment we met, she was kind, reliable, and clearly cared so much about our dogs. She kept me updated with photos and messages, followed our dogs’ routine, and made sure they felt comfortable and loved while I was away. We came home to happy, well cared for pups and a clean home, which gave us so much peace of mind. I would absolutely trust her again and highly recommend her to anyone”

“Loren was just amazing! We have 3 fur babies with 3 different personalities and they loved her!! Molly, our oldest, sat next to her when we were touching base and kept giving her sad eyes and Raven, the baby had to give her lots of love before she was able to leave. We will be repeat with Loren! Amazing!”

About: I regularly sit for my Dad. I've also consistently sat for friends, family friends, or neighbors. All have been different ages, sizes, and needs. I've helped train my dad's dog from puppyhood. I'm currently working part time, so I'll have time to be play with pups! I'll have time to stay for longer times with your pups until my shift. I can also do my job while being with pups if needed. If you're home has a fence, then I'll let them out off leash. If there is no fence, I will use the leash to let them out. (My family dog tends to run off if we don't leash him in the front yard so I understand the struggles) I'm comfortable with crating your dog while I'm working or at night if that is what you do. I'm also comfortable if that isn't the case.
About: Hi I’m Halle! have years of experience caring for animals, both of my own and I worked at a veterinarian clinic for years and have taken care of pets in every situation. I have a 6 year old dog and a 13 year old cat who are my furbabies 🐶🐱 Since I work for myself owning my business, my work schedule allows me to dedicate plenty of time to caring for pets. I can provide personalized care for your pet, whether that’s a daily walk, a check in, and daily enrichment. Building your pets trust is important to me, and making sure they feel just as loved and cared for as if you were there! Being out of town can be stressful for both pets and people, and I just want everyone to feel comfortable as if you never left them.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Brooks walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Brooks maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Brooks choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Brooks. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
