Michelle was AMAZING! She treated Tank like he was one of her own. We were able to relax on our vacation knowing that he was being so well cared for. We will not hesitate to have her watch him any time we go out of town.

I can’t say enough great things about Camille! From the moment we met, it was clear how much she genuinely cares about animals. She gave lots of love, attention, and playtime—and kept us updated with messages and photos, which gave us total peace of mind while we were away. Camille is reliable, kind, and professional—we will absolutely be booking again. Highly recommend to anyone looking for top-notch care. ★★★★★

About: Since I was thirteen, I have stayed home alone while my parents went to work, up to twelve hours on certain days. I have consistently been an owner of five or more dogs at a time, and I would always manage their meals, potty breaks, and everything in between. I am currently unemployed, so I have my entire days to spend taking care of your dog(s). I only keep my weekends to myself, but all day on weekdays are perfect. Whenever I have cared for my dogs, I always took a low-key, chill approach. As long as I know the dogs' tells for wanting to go to the bathroom, as well as general mealtimes, I usually sit with the dogs, give them pets and playtime, and they are generally happy with that.

Mia was super sweet and such a great choice to watch our anxious, 80lb ham bone of a pup! From our first meet & greet I knew she would be a great fit and felt at ease with her calm personality. She sent great photos and videos to assure us Haze was doing well and had great communication upon arrival, during her overnight stay and after departing. Thanks so much Mia, we would love to have your help again in the future!

About: I’ve had pets since I was born. I love to take my dog on walks at the beach and play in the yard with him. I am attentive to any reactions they might have to their surroundings as well. I’ve been looking for a job during the week days and I figured why not try this out to maybe help some families live their life if they’re on vacation or super busy. I have a friendly dog who will keep any pets company. I have a big yard with sun or shade if any dogs love to be outside. I also have crates if dogs need to be crated during the night or day.

About: Hi there! I’m Laney, a recent graduate who works full time, mostly remote, which means I can spend the day with your pets, giving them company, playtime, and care while you’re away. I have experience with a variety of animals, including dogs from playful puppies to senior pups who may need medications, as well as cats, guinea pigs, and chickens. I’m more than happy to accommodate to meet your pet’s needs. If you have any questions or would like to discuss how I can help, please don’t hesitate to get in touch! Looking forward to meeting you and your pets! 😊 When I receive bookings, I structure my day around the needs of the pets and their owners, ensuring each animal gets the attention and care they deserve. I carefully follow any specific instructions to maintain the pets’ routines, whether it’s feeding, walking, or playtime. I’m very communicative and happy to share updates and pictures while you’re away, so you can feel assured that your pets are well cared for!! I also make sure the home stays tidy, leaving everything as I found it.

About: A little bit about me, I am going on to my second year at MCC and after plan on joining the Air Force! I currently have a part time job at a restaurant but have gotten the unfortunate news that they will be shutting down my store so I am looking to have this as a part time job for now then hopefully transition it into a full time job. I have been taking care of animals since my early teenage years starting off with a close family friend and her 2 poodle mix’s. They would be dropped off at my house around 9:00 am and then get pick up at 6:00pm. I have bathed, cleaned, and even trained some dogs (simple commands). In addition, I have also taken care of multiple furry felines and have had many cats of my own so I am also quite familiar with their needs as well. I am wanting to soon be Pet CPR and First Aid Certified. I have always been interested in pet-care I just didn’t know how to go about it until I found out about rover! I will be putting all my focus on pet-care as my full time job. Since I am just starting out I will only have weekday availability 11-9 and will only offer drop in’s and walk services Monday-Friday and house sitting Tuesday-Thursday. I have been around pets for a long time and feel I am able to pick up on signs if anything might be wrong with your furry friend.

Paulina was a lifesaver for us and was able to accommodate a very short request period and provided excellent care. She continually reached out to us with pictures and videos of our puppy and let us know how the day was going. She had very appropriate questions regarding his care and completed all of our requests without issue. We're very lucky to have found her and appreciate the work she does!

About: Hi there! I’m Gigi, I work from home full-time and only take a few dogs at a time, so every pup gets lots of attention in a comfortable, home environment🤍 We carry our own private pet care insurance (not just Rover’s standard protection). We also keep a consistent routine so everything feels easy for the dogs. I help dogs get comfortable using our dog door so they can go in and out freely and keep their usual routine. I’ve worked with puppies as well and can help reinforce things like potty training, crate time, and settling into a new environment. We keep things relaxed and typically have up to 3 dogs at a time, so every dog has space to feel comfortable. We do a quick meet & greet beforehand to make sure it’s a good fit for everyone. Our setup works best for small to medium dogs. We have a fully fenced yard with a custom-built dog door, plus added safety features like anti-dig guards and front porch fencing for extra peace of mind. We also have cameras covering the backyard and main dog areas so we can keep a close eye on everyone. Inside, things are clean, cozy, and dog-safe, with floors and common areas kept clear so dogs don’t get into anything they shouldn’t. There’s also a fully enclosed indoor play area if separation is ever needed. My husband Nate and I care for the dogs together. I work from home full-time, and Nate works at a local school and gets home early, so someone is usually home with the dogs :) ⸻ 🐾 Your pup will enjoy: – Small group – 24/7 dog door access to fenced backyard (fresh water always available) – Clean, dog-safe spaces (no kitchen access) – Separated during feeding to avoid conflicts – Daily walks or runs in a quiet neighborhood – Photo/video updates – Plenty of playtime and supervision (Healthy snacks like yogurt, berries, or pumpkin if you’re okay with it 😊) ⸻ We’re located right off the highway—Rochester’s last exit before Buffalo/Canada, only about 10 minutes from ROC Airport. I’m always quick to respond, and can be flexible with drop-off and pick-up times. We do ask for booking at least a week in advance so we can schedule a quick meet & greet 🤍 I work from home full-time, so I’m around throughout the day for walks, playtime, and regular check-ins, and can let dogs out frequently as needed while keeping a consistent routine. We have a fully fenced yard with a dog door, so pups can go in and out easily. Inside is clean, dog-safe, and set up for a calm, well-managed environment.

Marlena stayed at our house with our pets for what was supposed to be a 4-day trip and ended up being 5 days due to travel complications. She was such a lifesaver staying the extra day with no notice at all. Her communication is great and she sends multiple pics of the pets a day. She left the house clean and I could tell our pup was very happy throughout her stay. Would definitely recommend!

FAQs for House Sitting - Hamlin

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Hamlin on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 498 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Hamlin. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hamlin walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hamlin maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hamlin choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hamlin. On Rover:

  • 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
