About: I’ve been caring for animals ever since getting my first cat at the age of 4. Her name was muffin and she was all grey. I have never been without a pet since then. I have had one or more cats at all times in my life and currently also have a large dog, I am comfortable with feeding, playing, basic needs and giving medicine if necessary for cats and dogs. I take pride in my experiences and love of animals. I am currently a stay at home mom so I have several hours of free time during the day. As both kids go to school. Three times a week I clean at a gymnasium for 3 hours but other than that, I am mostly available all hours until 4pm when child activities began. I have blocks of time between 4pm-9pm on weekdays, navigating around children's sports and weekends are typically completely open. While visiting your home, I would respect all entrances and environments and aim to treat your home and pets the exact same way you would treat your space and pets. Listening carefully to your wishes and expectations to make sure your needs and your pets are met.
About: I’ve had dogs and cat for the last 7-8 years. They have been so good to us and we’ve enjoyed them more than I imagined. I have a business that I’ve owned for seven years and I’m able to make my own schedule. Also, my homeschooled kids are home and willing to help if I ever need it. I have done 20+ years of babysitting and childcare in my home and other peoples homes. Plus, I’ve had clients that I have worked for and have trusted me with their keys to their home for seven years.
“Vanessa is amazing! She is a great communicator, friendly, and professional. I felt confident immediately at the meet & greet with having her watch our pug Stitch and staying in our home. Even when our plans changed unexpectedly for our departure and return she was flexible and understanding. We will definitely be reaching out to her again in the future!”

“It was my puppy’s first time without us being home and Alexis never gave up and was able to still get her needs cared for even tho my puppy was in ultra protective mode and not friendly!! Thank you Alexis”

About: While going to college I walked approximately 10 dogs (individually) per month with occasional 3 dogs at a time. I’m comfortable with all size dogs; Chihuahua to Great Danes. If the dog likes to run, I’m up for that too. I like to be active and I know some dogs need a good run to get out their energy. I’m open to pet care. My house is pet friendly, and has a backyard enclosed with a 6 ft fence, gate that locks and a grassy area. I care for pets as if they were my own. I can give baths, make sure they are fed on time - including medication, and bathroom breaks, and most importantly walks or runs.
“Annalise was absolutely awesome to sit our golden retriever while we went to tour Hearst Castle on our vacation. She was so sweet and I could tell that Sailor loved her. I would definitely use her again if we visit Pismo Beach again.”

“Bri was amazing and able to accommodate a last minute request. She was very attentive and sent me lots of pictures during her time with Teegan. I would recommend her to anyone needing a caring friend for your fur babies:) Thank you!!”

About: Hello, if your reading this that must mean your looking for a perfect pet sitter. I have over 10 years of animal experience. I graduated college and obtained my AS degree for the vet tech field. I also self taught how to groom (basics). If you’d consider me as your new rover pet sitter, I can offer dog bathing, nail clipping and basic grooming for an additional fee. I do know animal CPR and how to administer medication to the special case pups. I have all size dogs of my own so your pup is in great hands. I also provide updated pictures while you’re away. Thank you for considering me as your Rover pet sitter and hope to hear from you soon! Have a great day! I am currently working full time, but luckily I can schedule for early morning check in before 8:30 am and any time after 3 pm. Your pets will never be left unattended even in their own fenced yard. It’s important to make sure your pups are 100% comfortable while you’re away and if I see anything concerning to notify you immediately.
“Wonderful to work with! My dog is on a slew of meds, and everything went great. Punctual, friendly, tidy, and clearly loves animals. I would absolutely have her watch my cat and dog again.”

“Lauren did a great job. She got along with our dog (Zeva) very well, taking interest and spending time. She was also willing to do small, but helpful, tasks around our home. She responded to messages and requests promptly.”

About: I have taken care of many family & friends dogs and cats over the years. I have never had an issue with even the unruly ones. I am able to gain an animals trust quickly and am intuitive on how to approach them & care for them. I have a special needs nephew that I am a Respite Careworker for, I help administer his medications and am confident I can administer meds to any animal as well. I have also been taking care of my disabled mom for the last few years and am a mother of 2 (new empty nester). I have a lot of patience and don't get upset with messes. Everything is washable in my opinion. I do have a dog trainer friend that I can recommend as well, if your dog is in need of professional training. I live in Santa Ynez, but am available for pet/house sitting in any part of Santa Barbara County. Would consider travelling further on the weekends if I am able to bring my dog along. I work 3 minutes from home and have a flexible schedule. I have a fenced in yard with a dog door so I am able to leave pets that are potty trained home for a few hours if you need care during the week, I can come home at lunch to check on them. I walk my dog every day, so I know all the good dog walking spots in the area. I love hiking as well, so if your dog is up for it, I am happy to take them hiking too. It is just me, I enjoy the company of animals. I prefer caring for pets in their own homes, only because they are more comfortable there. My place is not very big, it is a renovated Bunkhouse, so it depends on how much space they are used to. I can sit 2-3 dogs at a time if they are not too big. I have room for a crate, but not more than one. I do have a small fenced in yard in the back (where the dog door leads) and the entire property is fenced in as well with a locked gate.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of September 2026, there are 513 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Guadalupe. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Guadalupe walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Guadalupe maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Guadalupe choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
