At the animal shelter I volunteered for both Orcutt and Santa Maria and I was there for about 2 years. About: I've had the gift of house/pet sitting for over 10 years, and it is without a doubt the most rewarding job I've ever experienced! Personally, I've had dogs, cats, hamsters, fish, horses, and hermit crabs as pets, besides the odd rescued baby bird, bunny, or mouse. On top of cats, dogs, and fish, I've had the opportunity to care for alpacas, an African grey parrot, and saltwater fish/reefs, while pet sitting. I feel like such a winner when I get a standoffish animal to trust me! Throughout my life I've had an array of animals to bond with, though for a long period recently we had just one cat. Mournfully, a few years ago, my dad and I had to part with our beloved Stevie. She was our close companion for over 15 years, and I still miss her immensely. Her quirks and routines still cross my mind, which brings all the things that made her unique and lovable up into my heart. Pet sitting warms my heart, and definitely fills the need that I still have for animal companionship (but without the heartbreak). When working at the animal shelter I used to take dogs on walks and to the play pens where they would socialize with potential new families and other dogs. About: I’ve taken care of dogs of all kinds from my personal dogs to animal shelter dogs for about 6 years. At the animal shelter I volunteered for both Orcutt and Santa Maria and I was there for about 2 years. I now work at the Santa Barbara Humane where I handle several different temperaments of animals and about to hit my 2 years working there. I’m currently working 4 10’s where i get 3 days of to enjoy the day with your babies. On the days that i do work i’m able to do drop ins during my lunch and after work at around 6. For the meantime im only doing in your home services due to my living situation but hopefully when i get my own place i can secure that your pets will be safe with me.
