“Nicole was excellent. Our Westie is 14 1/2, mostly deaf and partially blind. She has bladder problems and wear diapers. Nicole did an overnight stay at our house. She sent me pictures and even sent a video and if any questions she would text me. We will definitely book her again. We hated leaving our girl, but Nicole really put our minds at ease while she was there. Thank you Nicole !”

About: My first time dog sitting, I watched 2 Great Danes for a week while their family was away. I left this experience telling everyone I wanted to own a Great Dane when I got older. I have a tremendous love for pets and love to work with the family to keep them happy and routine oriented. I also adore my family dog, Sam. I currently work full time Monday-Friday, so being a dog walker would fit into my schedule week nights after 5pm, and weekends. I am open to dog sit on the weekends. I care for pets in my clients home by making sure I follow in-depth instructions about their pets routine while also making sure their house is kept tidy during my stay.
“Ruby was so sweet and took very good care of Sarge. She sent pictures often and I could tell Sarge had a great weekend because he was exhausted when I got home! She also left everything very clean.”

“Corrine was fantastic with our dog and cat while we were away! We received daily updates and pictures, she also went above and beyond and gathered the mail for us and took out our trash. We’ll definitely rebook with her!”

About: I’ve been around dogs my entire life and have always had a special love for them. Growing up with dogs has taught me how to understand their different personalities, needs, and routines. I’m patient, caring, and dependable, and I treat every dog as if they were my own. Whether it’s going for walks, playing, giving belly rubs, or making sure they feel safe and comfortable, I truly enjoy spending time with dogs of all ages and sizes. I understand how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet, and I’m committed to providing reliable, loving care while you’re away. My goal is to make every dog feel happy, loved, and well cared for. I’m available Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 7 PM, and weekends from 11 AM to 8 PM for walks, visits, and loving pet care. I create a safe, trusted, and welcoming environment where dogs feel comfortable, loved, and cared for with patience, attention, and respect like they are family.
“Bri and her partner Jake did such an excellent job caring for our older dog with separation anxiety. From the start of the meet and greet I knew that they would be able to give him the patient care and attention we wanted him to have while we were away. They were detail oriented and asked thoughtful questions in order to understand his needs and routines. Before the stay, they were responsive and communicative making sure to confirm all the details. During the stay they provided the perfect amount of updates (including photos and videos) so we were assured he was doing well but still able to be present during our trip. We felt at ease knowing that he was well cared for and could tell that they were doing everything they could to help him feel comfortable while we were away. The cherry on top was that we came home to a clean house! They went above and beyond to clean up after themselves and leave our home better than they found it. Would definitely recommend them and will be booking with them again for future stays.”

“Joey and Angie were very kind and easy to work with. Joey was respectful of my home, brought in packages and mail, and kept me updated on the dogs while I was away. Communication was good throughout the stay, and it was clear that Joey cared about the dogs’ well-being. Overall, I appreciated the help and care provided during my trip.”

“Kristen was great! She took care of my pup through some rough storms and helped keep her calm. Communicated with some cute pics as well. Also took the trash out when she was done with house sitting which she didn’t need to do! Would definitely recommend her :)”
“We couldn’t have asked for a better pet sitter! Mamie took such great care of our dogs while we were away, especially during the storms and Fourth of July fireworks, which can be stressful for them. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were in such caring and attentive hands. She was incredibly communicative, sending regular check-ins and lots of photos, which we truly appreciated. Seeing our pups happy and comfortable made it so much easier to relax while we were away. Highly recommend!”

“THE BEST!!! We spent 2 weeks out of the country and our dogs were treated with so much love and caring, they barely knew we were gone. We were sent photos of the dogs daily, so that we did not miss them too much. We had complete piece of mind while we were gone. We can't say enough good things about how well our dogs and home were cared for. Do yourself a favor and have them care for your dogs. You will be so very pleased.”
“Katelyn was great! She was very good with communication and taking care of Klaus. She sent pictures and checked in which we definitely appreciated to put our minds at ease. We will definitely use her again.”

“Kaitlyn did a fantastic job! We were so lucky to have her watch our dog. Getting ready to leave for our trip this year was very nerve-racking, especially when we were leaving the day before the big snowstorm was supposed to arrive, but Kaitlyn put us at ease very quickly. She was very professional, easy to work with, very accommodating, she gave us lots of updates & sent many pictures. We couldn’t have asked for anything better. We felt very comfortable having her watch Kai in our home.”

“Cassandra and Alex were great house sitters for our dog Zoey! I highly recommend them for anyone that want to keep their dog in their “comfort zone” and have someone take good care of your pet(s).”

“Gabrielle took great care of our cats and was in constant communication with us about how they were doing, including cleaning up a plant that one had knocked over. She also sent lots of pictures which was appreciated.”

“Karen was awesome! She stayed at the house during the recent snow storm and she went above and beyond. We didn't have to worry about a thing. Beckett was sad to see her go. We will definitely be using her again.”

“Izzy took care of our two dogs and four rabbits while we were on vacation. She was very attentive to the needs of all of the animals and communicated with us before we left and throughout the six days that we were gone. It was such a relief to not have to send our dogs to the kennel like we did a few times in the past before connecting with Izzy on the Rover app. Izzy is very professional, punctual, and reliable. She even sent us photos of the dogs.? We will surely be using Izzy in the future.”

About: I’ve learned and taken on responsibilities caring for animals, specifically dogs, at a young age. Nacho, my past rescue dog, lived to be about 15 years of age. He needed quite a lot of care in his old age, including joint supplements, pimobendan for his heart, and other treatments. I currently have two cats named Kirby and Sam. I would love to have a dog, but my living situation doesn’t allow currently for the quality of life they deserve. I work full-time as an aesthetician, but with some days off, so if you need a day or a time that you don’t see we may be able to work something out:) I ensure a clean environment with no hazardous materials around, ample enrichment, and all the love humanly possible. Full of healthy food and treats obviously🤪

Grace was very very good with Mollie. Mollie is very timid with new ppl and Mollie warmed up to Grace pretty quickly. When I returned, Mollie was cuddled up to Grace on the couch. I definitely recommend Grace for her calming personality is just what timid fur babies need. Thank you Grace for a great experience and I will definitely book with you again. 🐶❤️

Corinne was a fantastic pet sitter!!! Her communication was prompt and professional from beginning to end! Each day she would send me photos of our Goldendoodle, Sadie, along with a snippet of their daily activities. Sadie is extremely anxious and was living her best life with Corinne. If you are on the fence with hiring a pet sitter to stay at your home, be assured Corinne will do a WONDERFUL job!
We had a wonderful vacation, most in part, because we didn’t have to worry about our pups under Alisha’s care. She sent us photos and what they were up to every day. Gave them the best care! Came home to a clean home and extremely happy puppies. Thank you again, Alisha. ❤️🥰🙏

The average cost for House Sitting in Gringo on Rover is $66.6 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Gringo walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Gringo maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Gringo choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Gringo. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 91% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
