“Joey and Angie were very kind and easy to work with. Joey was respectful of my home, brought in packages and mail, and kept me updated on the dogs while I was away. Communication was good throughout the stay, and it was clear that Joey cared about the dogs’ well-being. Overall, I appreciated the help and care provided during my trip.”

“Ruby was so sweet and took very good care of Sarge. She sent pictures often and I could tell Sarge had a great weekend because he was exhausted when I got home! She also left everything very clean.”

“Needed someone to watch our dog for a couple of hours so we could take our son out to dinner for his birthday. We are from out of town so we had no idea where to start. Enter Rover.com and Erin. She was able to sit him while we went out and a plus she lived only 2 miles from our chosen restaurant. Ziggy took to her right away and enjoyed his stay. she's a wonderful woman and I would not hesitate to use her again. Thank you Erin and Rover.com”

“We booked Bri to watch our 6 year old doodle for the weekend while staying in the house overnight. She did an amazing job and far exceeded our expectations. We could tell Cooper had a good time and really got along with Bri. She sent us updates in the morning, day, night with lots of pictures and details. She not only left our house in good order once leaving, but also cleaned the house. We will for sure be booking Bri in the future and I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone.”

“Emma was the best! I will definitely be using her again. She sent updates and pictures on all the little adventures she took my Stella on. Can’t say enough great things! Highly recommend.”

“Kaitlyn did a fantastic job! We were so lucky to have her watch our dog. Getting ready to leave for our trip this year was very nerve-racking, especially when we were leaving the day before the big snowstorm was supposed to arrive, but Kaitlyn put us at ease very quickly. She was very professional, easy to work with, very accommodating, she gave us lots of updates & sent many pictures. We couldn’t have asked for anything better. We felt very comfortable having her watch Kai in our home.”

“Kristen was great! She took care of my pup through some rough storms and helped keep her calm. Communicated with some cute pics as well. Also took the trash out when she was done with house sitting which she didn’t need to do! Would definitely recommend her :)”

“If you need a house/dog sitter, look no further! Lauren was absolutely awesome. We have a 100lb Doberman who is very sweet but he is high energy and can be a lot to handle for people not used to large high energy dogs. Lauren took care of him with no issues at all while staying at our house for 5 nights. She gave him regular walks and spent a ton of time with him. She also was great at sending pictures and updates. Finally, she took great care of our house and respected our rules. She was great all around!”

About: Growing up I always had a dog and cats. They bring so much joy into my life. I am currently taking time off from nursing as we had our first son in August. So I am a stay at home mom. My husband and I have an English Cream Golden Retriever who is now 5 years old! I have experience training puppies, giving medications, walking dogs. Very flexible. Occasionally might have to have my 10 month old son with me for drop ins or walks. Would want to make sure cats/dogs are comfortable around kids. Thanks! They would get a lot of outside time! Large yard in the woods. Can keep them on a leash if needed as it is not fenced in.
“My pups were well taken care of and she was extremely helpful with some unexpected deliveries that showed up to the house while we were gone. Pups were happy and everything around the house was kept clean. I would definitely hire Corinne again!”

About: I’ve been around dogs my entire life and have always had a special love for them. Growing up with dogs has taught me how to understand their different personalities, needs, and routines. I’m patient, caring, and dependable, and I treat every dog as if they were my own. Whether it’s going for walks, playing, giving belly rubs, or making sure they feel safe and comfortable, I truly enjoy spending time with dogs of all ages and sizes. I understand how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet, and I’m committed to providing reliable, loving care while you’re away. My goal is to make every dog feel happy, loved, and well cared for. I’m available Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 7 PM, and weekends from 11 AM to 8 PM for walks, visits, and loving pet care. I create a safe, trusted, and welcoming environment where dogs feel comfortable, loved, and cared for with patience, attention, and respect like they are family.
About: I am an animal lover and I would take care/watch/walk your pet as if they were my own. I have cute and friendly female Goldendoodle who has been around other dogs her whole life. She is almost 5 years old. I do work 7-330 Monday - Friday but other than work i’m home with the dogs walking them and playing with them. I am off every weekend. I live in a complex with lots of grass and a fenced dog park where I spend the most time with my dog. I’ll walk your dog and play fetch multiple times a day and always make sure they have water and treats. Consider me to walk your dog and treat them they way they deserve to be treated!

About: Hello! My name is Izzy, I’m 21 years old, and I’m going into my senior year at Penn State while working at Rita’s Italian Ice in Cranberry Twp. I’m so excited to start my Rover journey! I’ve grown up with having dogs in my household all my life, from a 4 1/2 lb. Chihuahua to a chunky Toy Fox Terrier to a mighty but loving Rottweiler-Black Lab mix. I’ve also been tasked with taking care of my neighbor’s and friend’s dogs over the years, whether that be stopping over to give them food, bathroom breaks, and cuddles, or even staying overnight over the span of a week so the dog(s) don’t feel alone. Therefore, I’m hoping to be the best fit for you, too! Outside of dogs, I love to be in our pool when the weather is warm and being able to do so with my family, pick up new crafting hobbies like scrapbooking or embroidery, and go to concerts of a variety of artists (43 concerts and counting!), most recently being 5 Seconds of Summer. I can’t wait to start this opportunity and hopefully bring some relief to someone in need of dog-helping needs! I’m currently working part-time at Rita’s Italian Ice in Cranberry Twp., and the schedule always fluctuates between 4-6 hour shifts. I don’t have set days, but I’m typically scheduled one weekday and the Friday-Sundays, However, I have plenty of time outside of those shifts and always accommodate around them to ensure that all the dog’s needs are met. At home, I assist in letting our dogs play in our fenced-in backyard, giving them treats when they’ve behaved or done a trick we’ve taught them (sit and “paw”), taking them on neighborhood walks when it’s nice outside, assuring that their food and water are filled, and playing with them to get their zoomies out before everyone starts winding down for the night. Outside of my home, if there is not a fenced-in backyard, I’ve taken the dog(s) outside on leashes for bathroom purposes, as well as do all actions mentioned above from what I do at home. Some houses have also had puppy pads when necessary, and I always take appropriate measures to clean up any messes and re-lay down a fresh puppy pad.
“Katelyn was amazing. She is consistent and honest, and sincerely loves animals and respects owners times and wishes. I was comfortable with her house sitting in my home ! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”
“Karen was awesome! She stayed at the house during the recent snow storm and she went above and beyond. We didn't have to worry about a thing. Beckett was sad to see her go. We will definitely be using her again.”

The median cost per night for house sitting in Economy is $50

Joey and Angie were very kind and easy to work with. Joey was respectful of my home, brought in packages and mail, and kept me updated on the dogs while I was away. Esmirna is kind, gentle and calming. She helped me feel reassured and secure that my three pets (2 dogs and a cat) would be well cared for and they were. We came home to three very relaxed pets and a home in perfect condition. She sent a daily update w photos and followed a not so easy routine that included multiple pet meds. She was attentive to every detail and very thorough as well as professional. We greatly appreciate her effort, care and consideration. She made things easy and void of any complications!

Jacen took care of my two Pomeranians, Meeko and Koda, while I was away in Puerto Rico, and I truly appreciated the peace of mind he provided. He was reliable and made sure their basic needs were met, which is always my top priority when I’m away from them. Meeko can be a bit protective and vocal, and Koda is more laid back and affectionate, so they each have very different personalities. Jacen handled their differences well and ensured they were cared for during my absence. Communication was excellent with regular updates and photos, which allowed me to feel more connected and reassured while away. Overall, I’m grateful for his help and for making it possible for me to take my trip knowing my dogs were being taken care of.

We had a wonderful vacation, most in part, because we didn’t have to worry about our pups under Alisha’s care. She sent us photos and what they were up to every day. Gave them the best care! Came home to a clean home and extremely happy puppies. Thank you again, Alisha. ❤️🥰🙏

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Economy on Rover is $49.95 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 1,419 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Economy. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Economy walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Economy maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Economy choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
