“My dogs and cat were in such good hands. Highly recommend him. Will use again and again. Was in another country and he was so patient with my payment issue. I didn’t have to worry even at 3700 miles away.”

“This was our first time using Rover and Dominique to care for our dog, and my husband and I were really happy with the experience. “Troy was awesome with Asher!! Left very detailed feedback, and got him some much needed exercise during the day while I'm gone. Asher was very tired after, which is the goal! I have no complaints and would recommend to anyone looking to supplement some socialization and exercise for their pets.”

“Lisa was fantastic with our kitties! We came home to two very happy and well-cared cats. Prior to booking, Lisa met us and our cats at our apartment and was very attentive to us describe our cats routines and behaviors. During the booking Lisa provided detailed updates and pictures from her drop-ins to leave our minds at ease while we were gone for the holidays. We highly recommend her for any of your cat-sitting needs and will definitely be using Lisa again for future drop-in needs for our cats!”

“Sarah was such a great caretaker for our elderly kitty! Our cat is standoffish on a good day, and with needing meds while we were away, we knew a patient hand would be needed. Sarah was communicative, patient, flexible and gentle - even when our kitty was feeling less than kind. We are so thankful for her expertise and care!”

About: I have well over 24 years caring for dogs. I believe a house isn't a home without a dog. We (me and my family) lost our dog, Teddy, about 11/2 years ago. It has been very hard living without him. I still look for him at the door whenever I come home. We are still heartbroken from his passing. Someday we hope to find the courage to love again. Until then we want to love on all the doggies that come to stay and play with us. When your dog is here he/she is part of our family. Please be willing to come by with your pup for a meet & greet before any reservations are made. Our main concern is that you are completely comfortable leaving your fur-baby with us. Here is a coupon for $20 off. Your Promo Code: TIFFAK87923 Your promo code is only for new Rover members you recruit through your profile link. Rules and restrictions apply—read our Terms of Service to learn more. I work for H&R Block during tax season, January thru April. I am home all day the rest of the year to care for your doggie. I care for your dog as if he/she were my own. We will go on walks to Greenbelt Park, Grays Lake, and all throughout our neighborhood. We can play fetch in our yard. Also, belly rubs are a must :)

“So happy with Hallie’s drop-in visits! She does such an amazing job at taking care of my dogs, always keeping me posted and sending photos! My dogs fully enjoy their time with her, too! Highly recommend Hallie for any of your dog’s needs! ❤️❤️❤️”

“Ashley was wonderful with Rocky and very dependable. She not only took care of Rocky’s needs, she played with him and made sure he was not feeling lonely. She was excellent about communicating with us. This service is so helpful.”

“Ezequiel did drop in visits for my two dogs while I was away for a few days. He has great communication. He was very punctual. He was willing to accommodate my dog who is quite skittish, using my special leash and gate set ups to ensure she did not escape. My Corgi enjoyed him right away. Ezequiel did a great job feeding my dogs who have sensitives, allergies, and not the easiest feeding routine. He offered to wipe the dogs off when they came inside as it was raining nearly the entire time. Would recommend!”

“Michelle took care of my cat and rats for about a month. My cat loved her! I came home to the rat cage in good shape, and cleaning that out is never a fun job. Would definitely hire again. :)”

About: Hi! I’m the proud mom of a 12 year old Husky name Skyler. We have been thick as thieves since the day I rescued her. I always grew up with a dog or cat to love on and I couldn’t imagine my life any other way. I’m currently between jobs so I have tons of availability to look after and play with your beloved pet. I love going for walks and playing fetch, I hope they do too! I love taking my dog Skyler for walks, going to the dog park and playing in the backyard. I’m open for whatever your pet loves to do most.

“Rachel & Christian were able to help us on short notice to care for our pup who needed medicine. Their communication was promot while we were away which put our mind at ease. They have experience giving medication and working with extra large dogs. Rachel & Christian went above and beyond what we expected from drop in visits. Taking our pup on walks, playing a bit, letting him out to run and being flexible with timing so he wasn't alone for too long. We're so grateful to work with them and would recommend to anyone!”

About: I’ve always had dogs growing up! I’ve had both big and small dogs and love them all. We currently have two high maintenance French bulldogs that we treat like children. I’ll give your furry friend all of the affection and care that you would while you’re away! As a heads up, I do have a young baby and sometimes she’ll join me in taking care of your fur bestie! I am looking to love on some pups part-time! I am available Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and some weekends. I prefer day-time drop ins, but could have some availability weeknights depending on my schedule. I am excited to accommodate whatever you need to make your dog feel happy and loved! Having two dogs myself, I know the importance of getting quality care for your fur children!

“Tiffanie did a great job of taking care of my two large dogs, Sadie and Tucker. Her response time was the speediest ever! She was able to accommodate my request for a drop-in visit with less than 48 hours notice. My dogs were well taken care of and the photo updates are always a nice touch! I will definitely use Tiffanie again!”

About: Say hello to your energetic and enthusiastic dog/cat lover! No pet is too young, too old, too hyper, or too skittish for me. I’ve been around animals even before I was allowed to have my own; feeding strays and spending time with them. I have 2 cats of my own (Gundham and Cheesepuff) and I’m best buddies with a corgi named Owen and an old man German Pointer named Sammy. I’ve taken care of a range of species from livestock (chickens), fish to exotic indoor pets, such as snakes Guinea pigs, and lizards! I became a certified dog groomer in 2025 from attending the dmacc continuing education program and work fulltime at a grooming salon in west Des Moines. In that class I got a feel for a mixture of personalities and I came to the conclusion that every dog deserves just as much love as the next! I hope to be the next well known dog groomer on the block and my journey to that goal starts here! I’m excited to meet you all! Pets are my priority. I’m usually up around 7-8 am so my cats get fed first thing in the morning. Since I don’t have a filtered water bowl I change out their water twice a day; extra if they get food floaters I their food. While I’m gone they are occupied with toys and YouTube nature videos to keep them company. On the weekends I usually have more time to spend with them and once a month they get full baths! As for my personal schedule I usually have group visits on MONDAY, WEDNESDAY, AND FRIDAY and I’m usually available after 12pm for walks and checks in’s. Any overnight stays will be from Friday- Monday. I do start my grooming job on the 21st of this month so my availability may change but will be done so in a timely manner. If you have anymore questions please don’t hesitate to ask! I have 2 cats at home, which while they are independent I always have an eye out for their water and food and I spend plenty of quality time and play with them. Before I leave anywhere I make sure they have all that they need, anything they can get into is sealed/ closed off, and even leave soothing music on. Mainly classical!

About: I am a PhD candidate studying Animal Science at Iowa State. I have cared for many different typed of animals in the past from cats and dogs, fish, pigs and sheep! If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask, I am willing to travel for some openings as well. I have two dogs, and a cat. I’ve been in the routine of letting pets out mornings, afternoons and evenings. I commute to work and can do drop in visits on my way to and from Ames. My dogs are crate trained and my corgi is in the crate when I am out of the house since she’s 10 months old. I have previous dog sitting and house sitting experience and spend evenings walking dogs that I am watching or playing fetch in the backyard.

KaTara R.
“I met Kat through a summer job she had 2 years ago. She was part of a crew landscaping my parents' yard on their horse farm. When the crew took their break, she walked over to the fence and was admiring my parents' horses. I asked if she loved horses and she said she did but she didn't have much exposure to them. I called one over and gave her some apple nugget treats to feed the young mare that gladly trotted our way. That is when my beastly Mastiff mix Bubba came lumbering out towards us. He's as gentle as a lamb but his sheer size intimidates most people. Not Kat. She stood her ground and just basically ignored him until he calmly sat down near her. She gently reached out giving him an opportunity to sniff her hand. She told him how awesome he is, which is his love language. His big old head, which was bigger than her waist just melted all over her. She put his massive head in both her hands and just gently massaged his big head back and forth while giving him his favorite. Ear scritches. It was right then and there that our family decided to ask Kat if she would drop in to check on Bubba, our 3 cats, and our chickens while we were transporting horses out to Nebraska and South Dakota. She jumped at the chance! She is to let the chickens out of their fox-proof coops in the morning and get them back in every night. She said she used to help her grandpa with his chickens back home, so she was even comfortable with my dad's cranky, cocky rooster Ruckus. It's generally only a few days every few months that we leave like that, but she always comes through for us. And Bubba can not wait to see her when she shows up. She told us that she was training to become a groomer and we can't wait to take Bubba in for a good old dog bath, nail clipping and other pampering once she starts her new career. She is still committed to doing the twice daily drop-ins when we need her. She's a very dedicated and loyal woman. She has won our hearts.”
