“Juran was a great dog sitter. She is super communicative and takes time to get to know your pet. She even did a brief meet and greet with my dog beforehand which made him more comfortable with her. I look forward to Juran taking care of my dog again soon!”

“Alex is conscientious and trustworthy. Wilma has taken to him, and I'm so pleased it's one less thing for me to worry about. He has an instinct around her and that's from his experience. Highly recommend!”

“Gina has been phenomenal with my energetic pup! I didn’t intentionally book with her at the start of the hottest summer on record in DC, but that’s how things worked out. I don’t think she has had a single pleasant weather day since she began walking Remy, yet she has been incredibly professional and mindful of my baby boy’s needs on scorching summer days. And Remy adores her! We are so thankful for you, Gina!”

“Tandy was super professional and kind. I lived a little out of the ways but she was happy to come by and take care of our dog. I scheduled her for a walk and she still came and walked her in the RAIN and got soaking wet. Even got my dog a towel and dried her off. Definitely will be booking her again. True heart of gold and very helpful.”

About: I enjoy spending time with my dog and learning about dogs. I got my first dog 6 years ago and ever since it’s been life-changing I’m currently fully remote and free most weekends so, I’ll be available for the most part. I do live in an apartment so I can’t board or dog sit inside my space. I like to go on walks, runs, spend time teaching commands and go on trails. I like to communicate with the owner before giving out treats to make sure they’re good to have or update them on their potty time in case something is off.

About: I've always had dogs growing up in southern Virginia. I have taken care of my own pets for the past 10 years, I have a dog and a cat (that acts like a dog). My dog is not spayed, so I have experience with dogs in heat. If your dog is not neutered, I have experience monitoring behavior and separating the animals. My parent's dog is not neutered. As a loving parent of a goldendoodle, pet care is a big part of my daily routine. I am able to work remotely on most days so I can be flexible with my dog walking schedule. Most mornings start with fresh water and fresh food and a walk. I usually walk my dog again during lunch and then after the work day is over in the evening. I understand dog/cat behavior and know when to separate the animals. Moreover if you dog is crate trained, I will use that as their safe space whenever they may be anxious. If possible, please leave an item from home with your scent.
“Bria has been wonderful and responsive. My dogs loved her the first time they met and she sends great pictures in my Rover card. One of my dogs is having a hard time adjusting to our new home, and Bria is very gentle with her and does not push her boundaries.”

“Natalie and Dan have been so understanding, patient and knowledgeable- which has been great for my pup who needs a little extra time to get acclimated to new people / has some reactivity and guarding tendencies. The dedication, experience and care that they bring to working with fur babies is such a gift! We love working with them!”

Bria was great with Luna! She was easy to communicate with, kept me updated, and took great care of her while I was away. Luna came home happy and well cared for, which is always the most important thing. I appreciate the attention and care Bria provided, and I would definitely book with her again in the future. Highly recommend! 🐾⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Clarice did a wonderful job with Roscoe. He connected with her easily on the meet and greet, where she asked and learned about his quirks and personality. She accepted a somewhat last-minute request, and she treated him well! Highly recommend her and hope to use her services again in the future!

Denisse did a great job learning how to use Hoover’s harness and by the second day they were off and walking on their own. I really appreciate her flexibility and willingness to work with his mobility issues. It helps a lot! She’s a great communicator, very kind and clearly cares about doing a good job.

Alysha has been walking my dog for a few weeks now and she does a wonderful job! She's very attentive to my baby's needs and always communicates clearly & quickly. She has been super dependable. It's such a relief to have someone I can rely on to take care of my girl while I'm at work!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
