“Christy went above and beyond for my kitty while I was out of town for a long weekend. She was very proactive with communication. Left my home in tip-top shape and went above and beyond when a flight got delayed unexpectedly. I would re-book with Christy 100%.”

“Thomas provided excellent care for both our dogs over the course of 5 days. He also provided photos/videos with updates which were extremely appreciated. I would definitely recommend. 10/10”

“From our very first interaction, Anastasia was exceptionally friendly, prompt, and easy to communicate with. She happily agreed to a meet-and-greet before the job, taking the time to get to know our fur babies and ask thoughtful questions. She followed all our care instructions to the T and gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. Anastasia kept us updated with regular photo check-ins, and our two dogs looked genuinely thrilled and on cloud nine in every single picture. Her warmth and attentiveness made all the difference, and we will definitely be booking her again. You won't regret hiring her! Thanks so very much Anastasia for your loving and caring service.”

“Alyssa was so wonderful with our two dogs. She came over for a meet and greet and was always quick to respond. She sent updates and comforted our pups through the fireworks. We would love to use Alyssa again!”

“Amy and Jason were wonderful to work with. They helped us out in a pinch when our pet sitter had to cancel. They took amazing care of our animals and house while we were out of town. They sent lots of pictures and updates of the fur kids. The animals were happy when we returned and the house was very clean.”

“Hailey was exceptional!! She was on time, communicative, and extremely respectful. She sent me updates and pictures of my fur baby. I definitely would highly recommend her.”

“Stacy was wonderful! She took great care of our dog and our home. She communicated with very well - A++ - and that is so important to us! Our dog was in great spirits when we came home from our trip which lets us know she received top notch care! Highly recommend Stacy!”

“Lydia was great with our pups and we won't hesitate to use her services again. She sent daily pictures of our babies and I could tell they were content and happy. She even took one of our pups with her on a car ride to pick up food (he loves car rides and she did have our permission). She sent pics of him and I could tell he was loving it! Lydia was very quick to answer texts and she was easy to communicate with. She left the house in great condition and we already have her booked for May. I highly recommend Lydia and I don't think anyone that hires her will be disappointed with her services.”

“Logen is the best and my girls loved spending time with her while I was on vacation. She kept me updated throughout the days and even sent pictures. It was such a relief to know that Logen was taking care of my babies maybe even better than I do. I am pretty sure they were a little disappointed when I came home. Logen made sure my needy dog had her daily meditation and even took them on daily walks. I will definitely be using her for all my pet sitting needs!”

About: Call me Kat or Anna! I've been living with animals my whole life, including dogs, cats, and guinea pigs. From the age of 13, I have been taking care of my neighbours' and family friends' pets when they ask. I've got experience with rodents, lizards, cats, and dogs, but I'm not afraid to learn new animals! I've got particular experience with special needs pets, including post-surgery care, asthma, seniors, separation anxiety, leaky bladders, and daily oral/injection medication. I'm not squeamish around messes, smells, or loud noise. I've cared for nearly every personality out there, and whether your pet wants space, cuddles, or needs a bath, I'll help out for as long as you and your pets need, no matter how many or how weird they are! I'm currently a college student and take classes on monday/wednesday from 12pm-3pm and tuesday/thursday from 6pm-9pm. During those hours, I will not be available. I am happy to care for your pets anytime other than that, however, even on holidays! Personally, I use free-feeding (there's always kibble in the bowl) and positive reinforcement with my pets. They're only allowed outside under supervision, I clean the litter boxes every other day, I play with them daily, and special treats are highly encouraged. Of course, other houses have different care plans, and I am flexible. I will never enter any areas of your home you have not given me permission to access unless it is an emergency, I will clean your house before leaving if it is an overnight stay, and I will always alert you via a text message when I enter or leave your home so that you know your pet is being looked after. If you have other requests regarding your pet and home, such as getting mail, watering plants, etc, I am more than happy to oblige.
About: What sets me apart from other Rover sitters is my specialized experience in both puppy training and senior pet care. I am skilled in positive reinforcement techniques, ensuring that young dogs develop good habits early on. Additionally, I provide compassionate, attentive care tailored to senior pets’ unique needs, including administering medications and supporting mobility. My dedication to personalized, loving attention ensures every pet feels safe, comfortable, and happy in my care. I’m currently working part-time remotely , so i’ll have plenty of time to play with your pups or kitties! Right now I’m available 24/7 because I am saving to having a child! When caring for pets in my clients' homes, I ensure their comfort, safety, and well-being. I maintain feeding schedules, provide fresh water, administer medications if needed, and engage in playtime and exercise. I respect the pets' routines, offer companionship, and keep their environment clean. I communicate regularly with clients, updating them on their pets’ health and behavior, ensuring peace of mind while they're away.

Alaina was AWESOME! She stayed at my house with my three senior dogs- one of which is blind. They also each take a wide range of medications and have lots of special instructions. She handled all this perfectly! I had complete trust in her being in my home and was completely at ease the entire time I was out of town. She sent photos and updates to me each day. I highly recommend!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Gray walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Gray maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Gray choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Gray. On Rover:
- 73% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
