About: What sets me apart is that caring for animals isn’t just something I do—it’s something I’ve lived my entire life. I grew up with a golden retriever named Arwen, and from 8th grade on, I was fully responsible for her walks, training, and care. I even started waking up an hour earlier every day just to make sure she got her morning walk in before school! Later, when I moved to the U.S. for college, I helped raise and train my roommate’s husky puppy, Ava, who struggled with separation anxiety. I’d take her to class, skate with her to tire her out, and help her stay calm and confident. It was like co-parenting a very energetic fur baby—and I loved every minute. I’ve cared for dogs of all ages and personalities—from hyper puppies to senior dogs with medical needs. My husband and I pet sat for two elderly Bichon Frises (17 years old!) every year while their owners traveled, carefully managing their diet, medications, and gentle exercise. I’ve also grown to love cats after living with Archie—my first real cat roommate—and have experience gently brushing, bonding, and caring for both indoor and stray cats (I even accidentally helped my mom adopt a kitten when I took in a stray!). Most recently, I taught my in-laws’ senior dog Ellie new tricks at the age of 7, proving that even older pups can learn with patience and love. We can’t have pets in our home right now due to landlord restrictions, so pet sitting is how I stay connected to what I love most—animals. I treat every pet like they’re my own, and I genuinely enjoy making them feel safe, happy, and loved while their humans are away. I am a bioengineering Ph.D. Student, most of the time I have freedom of picking my hours, as well as working from home when needed! I always start by learning as much as I can about your pet’s routine, preferences, health needs, and quirks. Whether it’s medication schedules, feeding routines, or special toys they love—I’m here to follow your instructions to a T. I do my best to keep your pet’s day feeling as normal as possible while you’re away. I’m extremely respectful of your home and always aim to leave it just as you left it (or better!). I double-check doors and windows, never leave pets unsupervised outside, and keep a tidy, pet-safe environment throughout the stay. I also send regular updates—photos, videos, and check-ins—so you can relax knowing your fur baby is happy and well cared for. If you ever need in-my-home care in the future (pending landlord approval!), my goal would be to provide a cozy, stress-free space that’s clean, safe, and set up to meet your pet’s unique needs.

About: I’ve had over 35 years experience caring for dogs, cats and even a couple bearded dragons. I’ve house trained 3 puppies and participated in training classes for both the dogs we currently have and a couple in the past. Over the years I’ve cared for countless pets for my friends and family and I’d love to care for yours. My husband and I own a small business so I work for myself and set my own hours which are minimal. I’m mom to two adult children so I have plenty of time to devote to your pets. I’m centrally located in Santa Cruz and I’d be happy to come to your house for dog walks or pet sitting. We have two friendly dogs and one cat at home to keep your dog company with a completely fenced in yard and plenty of time for frequent walks.

About: I currently watch cats for friends who travel frequently and walk a dog regularly once or twice a week. Also I will travel to watch over pets and based in Santa Cruz, California. I often watch my son's dog while he is out of town in San Diego and have another regular also in San Diego. I do not have my own pet so I rely on the love and connection I make with other cats and dogs. I love animals and like to be with them. I am retired and have a free and flexible schedule. Will travel. Sometimes I could be available on short notice, especially for walks. There are several nice walking areas within five minutes drive and a park across the street. Prefer a weeks notice on overnights. I live in a 1st floor apartment with a small outside patio in a downtown environment with a park right across the street. I care for pets as needed and per instructions your home or mine.

About: Hope to Talk and Meet with You soon! I had I've had much experience calming down rescue dogs who have not been to formal training. My charge would be extra for these. If your dog is at least a year, or has had a few classes in behavior, then my prices are as stated in the first section under rates. If I'm watching your pet for a day or part of a day, this should be great and no worries. Same goes for walking your dog. the price for walking and transportation to and from home to the park or beach etc. My last job was where we developed a routine run and walk, and the toys I brought. Its important to know how the owners see the life of their pet and what attention and routines have invested in their dog. If injured what they have experienced before I get involved. I took some time off traveling and now I'm back!

About: i've grown up surrounded by animals, and always had a knack for taking care of them. i've worked with everything from a service dog in training to grumpy senior cats, and loved all of it. there's no odd request (like doing a dance before dinner), unique problems (like wobbly cats), or basic challenges i can't handle. i'll treat your pets like my own im currently a full time student which give me tons of flexibility in scheduling. generally speaking im available ever weekday after noon but if needed i can always make time for your furry friend! I have a passion for dog training so i would love to work with your pup on whatever you would like. i can also do some light house cleaning if you want!

About: I grew up in an animal home, caretaking for dogs, cats and small farm animals. I have experience training and keeping up a training plan with puppies to adults. Experience with medication and special needs care. Experience with problematic pets and so on. I love having companions to go on hikes, runs, walks with or just to take to the beach. I tend depending on pets behavior and needs bring them on adventures and make sure they get plenty of outdoor time in the beautiful place we get to call home :) Currently taking online classes and have time available in-between studying which makes me a great buddy for your pet to provide loving care and extra time outside. My schedule adjusts as I work as an outdoor guide and block my schedule off for when I'm on trips. I’m currently not boarding let’s in my home due to a change from landlord requests but I can care all day and be active with your pups. In your home I’m respectful and clean and follow the routine given for your dog so they don’t fall out of any habits as well as being keeping your home better than I found it. I will up keep anything in your home that needs as well including plants, snow removal, waste/recycling, mail, etc.

“Rarely does one encounter such a kind human being from “day one” and beyond, who naturally projects such an immense authentic calm and warm energy as David’s. He is a phenomenal respectful, reliable, trustworthy, and warm-hearted spirited man. I trust David 1,000% with our 5 year old dog. From the moment David took Yogi on his first neighborhood walk, his calm demeanor and his love for animals was quite evident. Our Yogi-bear is a bit shy, with high energy. Yet he is very sensitive to outdoor stimuli. Unfortunately, Yogi’s prior owner was unable to provide him with outdoor walks, car rides, and only minimal pet and human interactions. So, it has been challenging for us the past year, when he is reactive anxiously to his environment, Even though Yogi was not socialized for so long. he is quite intelligent. When he listens, and we are consistent with his training, he yearns to please others. We have learned from David to continue to be patient along his new journey with us. Yogi has never been at such ease with anyone else UNTIL he met DAVID. Immediately, those two bonded. Yogi felt safe in the presence of David’s “calming and warm energy”. David was so successful with their initial walk together, that Yogi stayed very close to David’s leg. This meant he felt safe, comfortable, and fully trusted David to be there for him if he needed. Yogi has never done this with anyone else! From the moment I myself met David, every time, he has “far exceeded” my expectations. He actually spent quality time to train Yogi with positive reinforcement techniques during each walk. David took it a step further and demonstrated to me simple ways I can help reduce Yogi’s anxiety on walks and in general. What I really enjoyed and appreciated as well is that David sends me reassurance with updated texts and photos of Yogi behaving during their journeys. I recently even asked if I could hire David to take a family portrait that we can display on a wall at home. Yes, David is THAT good in taking sweet photos of “our baby”. Trust me when I say - David will not disappoint!”

About: Hi, I'm Kaila! I am an animal loving college student with a lifetime of experience in pet care. I grew up with a vast array of animals who often were left under my watch. I have taken care of cats, little dogs, big dogs, and bunnies. All sizes and ages of pets are welcome! I have experience with puppy/kitten care, senior care, cats, small dogs, and big dogs! I'm well versed in (lovingly) tricking pets into taking their medication, ensuring they get proper exercise/enrichment, and cleaning up after them. At the moment I am free everyday aside from Sundays from 8-3pm. I am very flexible and able to meet you and your pets schedule! While I am not able to board your pets at my house, I can care for them in yours. To ensure your pets safety, comfort, and happiness I will take the time to get an understanding of their routine, personality, and any specific rules you have in place. About: I have three fully grown akitas at home and one malitpoo. So I have experience with all types of dogs and love going on walks with them. I’m currently a full time student, but I have the weekends, Tuesday, and Thursday completely off. I do live on campus, but I have a car so I’m more accessible. I do everything that is instructed to me along with spending quality time with the animals to fulfill their needs. I also always double check all gates and doors are locked and secured before leaving the premises.

About: I grew up around cats and dogs, and have 20 years of pet sitting experience. I've taken care of many dogs and cats, fish and even chickens! I've taken care of pets of all ages and sizes and can customize to fit their needs. Walks and play that fit the animals health and activity level, routine feedings and am comfortable following special dietary instructions and administering medications. I also currently work at a veterinary hospital taking care of the animals that board there. This is what I do and I love it so I'm almost always available. I decided to come to Rover in order to expand my clients beyond just word of mouth. I'm very safe, responsible, and respectful when taking care of someone else's pet and home. I can take care of watering the plants, trash day, gathering mail and packages and any other tasks needed. I tend to hang out a lot reading or watching shows/movies with the pets with frequent walk and/or play breaks or longer excursions depending on the animal.

I have had many dogs and other pets in my family through out the years with successful training. I am a non smoker, reliable and caring person. About: I've been taking care of my own pet for many years back home, and I've been caring for a hamster most recently. I love animals and treating them like I would my human family. I'm pretty flexible. I already have a part time job and I am looking to add some more hours to my schedule! I am mainly free during the week days, when owners may be at work full time in an office and such. Up front I will inquire about the pets behavior, boundaries set, and what I should expect of the animal.
