“We brought our older dog with us to Santa Fe and realized that in order to see all the lovely art museums we needed to find someone to care for Zippy. Zippy has separation anxiety and we were worried about leaving him for an extended time. We had nothing to worry about. He really enjoyed his time with Victoria! He got to play with other dogs, watch the chickens, take walks. He was living his best life, while we were able to enjoy Santa Fe dog free. It was a win-win for everyone. I highly recommend Victoria for daycare.”

“Our dog had great fun playing with the dogs at the sitter 😁. Laurie took them on a hike one day and our dog had a great time and was nice and tired out for a calm evening 😊. Lily was very excited to go back for her second day! You should be forewarned that her house is down a dirt road with ups and downs. Would definitely recommend this sitter for a social and energetic dog”

About: I've been taking care of pets ever since I was a child. Ive grown up near live stock and many types of animals and helped take care of them for my entire life. I have had 2 dogs and 3 cats, my oldest dog recently died of old age. I am very responsible and I care about animals. I will take care of your pets like they are my own. I love any type of animal big or small. My family and I have had many chihuauas in my lifetime. I love each of them very much. Any animal I care for will be well fed and watered and will get plenty of play time. All of the animals I currently have are super friendly. I live on a one acre fenced property. I currently am a full time college student, so I have alot of free time in which I usually always hang out with my animals. I have a fenced yard, and a puppy to keep your pet company. I also have a kennel so if needed they can go in there.
“I am visiting Santa Fe from out of town, and Stephanie took care of my high-energy Labrador for the day. My dog came back to me clean and tired, and Stephanie sent me photos and updates throughout the day. I would definitely take Margot to her again!”

“Abby had a great time with Eliza and Alejandro and came home tuckered after plenty of walks and cuddles. I have them booked again for two different days next week also. I appreciated the photo updates. THANKS!!”
“Jalali was amazing with our pups! I would highly recommend him as a sitter and I will definitely book again when I’m back in the area. Our dogs were exhausted from a day of running and playing when we picked them up and were excited for another day of day care when we dropped them off for a second day, too! Overall, great experience, communication, and care. Thanks, Jalali!”

About: I am a reliable and compassionate pet sitter with experience in caring for dogs, cats, and other pets. I can provide in-home pet sitting services, overnight stays, including feeding and walking. My pets and I have a consistent daily routine. We enjoy morning and evening walks around our pet-friendly apartment community, plenty of playtime, and lots of attention throughout the day to keep everyone happy and active. Your pet will be treated like family in a clean, calm, and safe apartment environment. I provide constant supervision, regular potty breaks, fresh water, exercise, and plenty of love, ensuring they feel comfortable, relaxed, and secure during their stay.
About: I've had dogs and taken care of them since I was a young child. As an adult I’ve fostered dogs for over 5 years, taking care of all types of dogs. I have experience potty training, house breaking, bathing, and more. The dogs I have fostered came from all sorts of backgrounds; homeless, abusive households, neglected, seniors, disabled (blind, deaf, hard of hearing, missing limbs). I enjoy spending time with all animals and animals like to be around me. Currently working on my dog trainer certification I have a flexible schedule since I work from home most of the time. As a dog owner myself I spend a lot of time taking care of my dog. We go on walks 3 times a day, he gets treats, cuddles and play time all day long. On the weekends when the weather is nice we like to go for short hikes. Unfortunately I sustained a bad fall in 2024 and broke my back; so I am unable to care for any pet over 50lbs or any pet that is leash reactive or pulls on a leash. Since that would aggravate the injury and most definetely stop me from caring for pets all together; I hope you can understand! I have a small backyard where we go play fetch, we also love going to Frenchy’s or many of the other parks in the area for walks and off leash play when the weather is nice. Going for walks 2-3 times a day around the neighborhood as well
“Kendell is excellent! We were worried about finding a sitter during a road trip, and we are lucky that Kendell was available to sit Bella for a couple of hours! She is very attentive and took good care of Bella, and even left us a summary of the walks she took her on and how Bella did with her dinner. We are extremely grateful!”

“Teddy had a wonderful day with Michelle. We were very happy to find Michelle nearby our family near Santa Fe so we could go out hiking. We look forward to seeing Michelle and playing with CJ again on Monday!”

“Eva was amazing! I would highly recommend her to watch your furbaby. She watched our sweet Lohla and sent pictures throughout the day. I can’t say enough kind words to say how thankful we were to Eva to watch our girl!”

“Iosif was amazing! Great communication from start to finish sent me updates throughout the day with videos and pictures. Iosif was very careful and wanted to make sure that his dog and my dog got along and asked the appropriate questions I was traveling, but if I am in Santa Fe again, I need pet sitting he’ll be my first choice.”

“Melinda took amazing care of our senior dog, Doster. He usually hates being away from us, but he was comfortable with her immediately and even went up with tail wagging to say goodbye. They had a successful & fun day, & we’re grateful for the excellent care. :)”

About: Caring for animals comes naturally, and nothing makes me happier than making them feel safe, loved, and at ease. Animals have always been part of my life, as I grew up on a farm surrounded by dogs, cats and more! I've raised puppies from 3 days old, having to bottle feed and potty train...all the way up to seniors, managing meds and declining capabilities. I volunteered at a shelter in Mexico for a year. Through that experience, I was exposed to a lot of medical and behavioral situations, which taught me a lot. My partner and I both work from home, which means your pup will never be lonely. We know how to make dogs feel comfortable, and aim to have them feel like they've taken a little vacation, too! I know leaving your pets can be stressful. I send lots of updates and pictures, so you can feel relaxed and assured your pup is happy and healthy. My partner and I work from home, and have a lot of flexibility in our schedule. We currently have a 10lb Chihuahua, who was left on our doorstep with umbilical cord still attached! At 2 years old now, he's a pretty easy going guy, and likes to be part of a pack from time to time. He usually gets 2 walks a day around the neighborhood. Or, we will do a nice long walk or hike, if time allows. We feed twice a day and provide treats for being a good dog, of course. I love to take work breaks to play tug of war or fetch. Belly rubs are available every night for all four legged residents of the house who want them! Any furry guests would fit seemlessly into our routine. We have a fenced yard, and are always home when pets are in the yard. No dangerous chemicals or pet hazards in our house. Generally, we aren't away from for more than a few hours. We are also happy to take them with us, whenever possible.

About: I’ve taken care of pets for the majority of my life. My own, as well as friends and family. I have 30+ years experience with cats, and have pet-sitted many kinds of dog breeds ranging from chihuahua to Great Pyrenees I currently do not have a job, so I am mostly available all day for pet care, save for a few hours a day when I go into town for errands. I have a large sunlit home with a yard (unfenced) and large patio area for play. I have no other pets, so yours would receive all my love 🤍

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NM ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
