About: Update June 1, 2026. I have taken a part-time job and right now I can only accept cat drop in requests . Unfortunately I can’t commit to dog walking because of this part-time job unless it’s on the weekend. I am answering as a pet owner. I am hoping to start working as a pet sitter/dog walker soon. As a kid we had birds and hamsters, then graduated to cats when I was about 14. As a young adult I usually had up to 4 cats at the same time. When my kids were in high school, my husband introduced me to dogs by re-homing a dog named Lucy. We still have her. I had never had dogs before but I am so glad I did not say NO to hubby at the time. We have 2 dogs now but no cats. I do miss having cats and hope to again some day. I left my job of 34 years and would love to do something I have been wanting to do for a long time but never got around to. I am happy to care for cats too! At my house we have invisible fence to keep the dogs from leaving the yard, though our younger dog needs to be on a long lead because he is so excitable and cannot always be trusted to stay in the yard. We also have invisible fence inside to keep both dogs out of the kitchen.
“Emily has been a FANTASTIC dog walker for my sweet, 85lb fur baby for the last few months. She goes above and beyond and I'm truly so grateful to have her. I fully trust her to take excellent care of Meeko and he LOVED her from the beginning.”

About: Since I was 13, I've been the trusted pet sitter in my neighborhood. I've cared for a variety of pets, ensuring they're well-fed, exercised, and happy. My neighbors rely on me for attentive and reliable care, knowing their pets are in good hands. This experience has deepened my love and respect for animals. I currently work evenings from 9pm-5am, which gives me plenty of free time in the mornings and afternoons to walk your pet and give them the attention they deserve🐾 I have a spacious, fenced-in backyard where pets can play safely, accompanied by my two very friendly resident dogs that is a boxer and a golden doodle🐾

My skill ranges from walks to grooming, I’ve got you covered! Currently, I’m working full-time with free availability Sunday through Tuesday! I will require at least a three day notice before the date of booking. Please message me for any questions you may have! I have a balcony and plenty of space for your fur baby to lounge and play. Currently my roommate is an agreeable cat. Chai is pleasant and tolerable to other cats and small dogs.
“Katie was incredible, as always. Great communication, great with my dog… super reliable. I never have to worry about things when she is scheduled to come over. Highly recommend Katie!”

About: I grew up always having a pet in the house and have about 4 years of experience pet-sitting for neighbors. I helped with potty training and basic obedience training for my active mini labradoodle, Maisy! I’m an OSU student home for the summer and am currently pretty flexible! In June, I work Monday through Wednesday during the day but am otherwise available throughout the week. I’m happy to learn about your dog’s individual needs and make sure their environment is as safe as possible! Just please communicate with me :)
About: Ive worked with dogs and cats in my personal life and in a professional setting. I’ve owned dogs since childhood. I’ve been working with both dogs and cats in a professional environment such as doggy daycares/boarding facilities for 3 years. I’m currently in school part time so a few days a week. So I have plenty of time in between for playtimes and potty walks. Most days im available as early as 7am - 5pm. Depending on my schedule that week I may be available later in the afternoon. Sadly I do not have a fenced yard so I prefer to watch animals at their owners home to ensure their safety during outdoor playtimes.
About: I have been a pet owner and animal lover my entire life. I have owned dogs, cats, a bird, and fish. I have years of experience pet sitting for neighbors, family, and friends where they have relied on me to feed, walk, entertain, brush, and bathe their dogs. I enjoy getting to know and interacting with all animals and can’t wait to get to know yours! I am currently on my summer break from college, so I have a fairly flexible schedule and availability to walk, pet sit, and board your pets! I provide loving and attention care in both my home and my client’s home, by making pets feel safe and comfortable. I make sure to provide multiple walks a day and give plenty of time for play.
About: I live in an apartment at Kent State and am back and forth from Solon in the summer! My dog at my parents home is very reactive and we have been with many trainers to calm him down. I have much experience with dogs like him and learned from trainers. I have sat for various owners over the last few years and always enjoy keeping animals company! I am a college student! I live in a pet friendly apartment with a nice outside area. I have a very open schedule and would be open to helping anyone out at any time! I always make sure to have the pet's water and food stalked up and clean up the surrounding areas for the owner. I always make sure to leave the space looking better than when I arrived. I cannot house pets at my home due to my reactive animal but I am 100% willing to come to you!
About: I grew up with dogs and as a kid, I took care of neighbor's dogs from time to time when they were away. My wife loves dogs as long as they belong to someone else. We have cats but I need to do something like this to get some time with dogs. I just retired from teaching after 31 years in the job. I go for walks every day and I thought why not walk with a dog. I am not able to watch dogs at my house. I have a geriatric cat that would probably have a heart attack. I am primarily looking to walk dogs, but I could dog sit over night at the client's house in a pinch.
“Amber was absolutely stellar with my dog Spike. She made sure that he was having a good time, she ensured he got a long enough walk, and he genuinely enjoyed his walks with her. Would highly recommend”

About: Hi! I’ve been a dog lover my whole life and have rescued many dogs over the years. I also grew up with dogs during my childhood. The last six we’ve owned have been rescues. I'm looking for part-time work doing some type of care for other's dogs, whether it be caring for them in their own home while the family is on vacation or letting them out during the day while the owner works. I'm available most days for overnight stays (based on availability) and most days for walks and drop-in visits, if they need to be let out or just played with for a while. I now own two small dogs. They are a Cavachon that we got at the age of 8 weeks and a Yorkie mix we adopted when he was 3. The Cavachon’s name is Cooper and in 2025 he turned 4. He was a breeder surrender because he wasn’t “perfect,” meaning he was born without his right front paw. He gets around fine and loves other dogs and people. The second little guy is Boomer, a Yorkie mix who is 4 now. They are both dog and people friendly. I'm hoping to share my love for dogs with others who need help caring for theirs. I’m very allergic to cats so I can’t help with them. Small dogs only. I have experience giving medications and also giving insulin shots, because one of my dogs was diabetic. Thanks and I hope you’ll consider me for your dog’s care. We are retired and I do dog sitting and walking part-time for extra money. Sometimes my husband comes along too. My schedule is pretty open so I can work with you for what’s best for your pups. I’m open to whatever your pets need-walking, playing, letting out to potty, feeding, cuddling or giving medication. Only the best care for your fur babies.
About: Patient with dogs, especially puppies, because I recently went through the puppy training stage with my dog. This level of patience also comes in handy for senior dogs. I have flexibility in my current schedule; therefore, I'd like to make the most of helping fellow dog owners. I've learned first hand that sometimes it takes a village. From my perspective, the golden rule (treat others how you'd want to be treated) is standard for both people & pets. My goal is to treat your dog as I would my own.
“Dasha was awesome! She texted me updates throughout Wilma's walk/visit and even brought in our packages from our front porch. She followed all of the directions we left to a T, but most importantly she took great care of our dog and made her long day alone less lonely. We will definitely use her again. Wilma had a great time with Dasha!”

About: I am a dedicated and reliable dog walker with a passion for pets and years of experience caring for all types of dogs. I offer fun, safe, and personalized walks that are tailored to each dog’s needs, energy level, and personality. Whether it’s a leisurely stroll for a senior dog or an energetic adventure for a puppy, I make sure every dog has a great time and gets the exercise and attention they I currently work part time and would love to fill up my schedule. I am available Thursday and Fridays for drop ins and dog walks. During my walks ins I’ll make sure the dog is happy and healthy with lots of play, walks, food and water if needed. I can also update you with photos of the dog!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
