I have volunteered at a dog rescue, and I have experience walking and sitting all sorts of dogs— small, large, young and excited, old and a bit slower, trained, untrained. I've raised dogs and cats and have done the whole shabang- training, potty-training, cleaning up messes, etc. I understand things happen and am patient with them. I'm happy to play with your pets, take dogs on walks, and give them extra love while you are away! I am a clear, honest communicator. I want you to be aware if anything happens you need to know about to ensure the safety of your pet. I have been on your end of Rover, and I know how nerve-wracking it can be to leave your pet with someone you don’t know very well. So I will send consistent updates and pictures, and be available for any questions from you. I can’t wait to meet your furbaby! I will treat them as my own 🩵 I work from home and have a very flexible schedule. I have a few meetings spread through the day, but most of the time, I can make drop ins/walks work with whatever schedule is needed. And if I am dog sitting, I will be home all day since I work from home. At my home, I have a fenced in yard. I will supervise any outside time. I will make sure the leash and collar are secured before going on a walk. I don’t put my face in their face, and allow them to take the lead on contact and interaction. I know I’m a stranger to them at the beginning, and know trust needs to be built!

“My dog sitter had fallen through at the last minute and was so glad Brittany was available. Brittany was fantastic! Upon meeting Brittany and her husband, I felt very comfortable with them staying at my house and watching over the dog. Our pup immediately gravitated to her husband! Our pup is very playful. Brittany and her husband gladly walked him daily and played fetch through out the day. Even though I didn’t have service on my trip, she sent lots of pictures and videos. I appreciated seeing images of the weekend as soon as I had service. Brittany and her husband stayed at my place. House was clean when we arrived home. They even stripped the sheets/towels and even offered to wash them! I’ll definitely be reaching out to Brittany in the future.”

I also make it a priority to follow the routines and expectations established by each dog's family, including feeding schedules, sleeping arrangements, walking routines, training cues, boundaries, and other care instructions. Consistency can make being away from home much easier for a dog. Most importantly, I take the responsibility of caring for someone else's dog seriously. These animals are members of their families, just as the dogs throughout my life have been members of mine. I want owners to leave knowing their dog is being watched closely, treated with patience and respect, given meaningful attention and enrichment, and welcomed into a home where their safety and well being come first.
