“Thank you for caring for our animals and sending updates and photographs every day. We are very grateful for her being there to watch over them. She's cared for our cats before, and we will definitely rebook with her when we need to again.”

“Janie is absolutely amazing! She truly loves my baby and it shows in everything she does. She always takes her time to write very detailed notes after each drop-in visit, and I really appreciate that because I love knowing every little detail about how my baby did while I was away. This was the first time my dog had stayed with someone other than me, so I was a little nervous at first. But Janie immediately made me feel so at ease and completely worry free. I feel 100% comfortable knowing my baby is in her care. We now have weekly drop-ins with her, and I truly hope she continues doing this for a long time because I feel so confident and comfortable leaving Evee with her. I couldn’t ask for a better pet sitter!”

“Thank you Kara for taking care of Gabby! She loved her visits very much. She’s a happy girl! Appreciate your posting photos of her playing and walking. We’ll book with you again when we are here.”

About: I have years of experience between animals, livestock, babies, and senior care. I breed Australian shepherds and Japanese Akitas, and currently own chickens. I do own my own house and with a decent size fenced backyard. I’m available all day of the week. If I have to step out, I have cameras all over my house and around my house. I have a fenced yard, cameras all over the outside of my house and in the inside as well. There is always someone at my house.
“I’ve booked Amber three times for drop-in visits with my cats, and she’s been great every time. She’s always punctual, friendly, and sends regular updates. I can tell she truly cares about my cats, which makes all the difference. Highly recommend!”

“Diane is a great job taking care of my furr babies while I got called out of state for a family emergancy. It was last minute and I am so glad she was able to accomdate me. She kept me up to date with photos and easy to communicate with during my trip.”
“We couldn’t have asked for a better pet sitter! From the moment we met, we felt completely comfortable leaving our sweet girl in their care. They treated her like family, sent regular updates and photos, and went above and beyond to make sure she felt safe and loved. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing she was in such caring hands. We will absolutely be using them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable, trustworthy pet care!”

“So glad Stephanie was available to care for our animals while we traveled. She was amazing, she went above and beyond to make sure our animals were taken care of. She was punctual and provided great feedback and photos that put us at ease while we were away. Would recommend her to anyone, and will be rebooking with her for our future needs! Thank you so much!”
“Sydney was great! She took great care of my pets, and made me feel confident in being able to leave my kitties at home. She was efficient in communicating and made my cats feel loved while we were gone.”

About: I have always had animals in my life. My sister and I were adopted by our first cat when I was five. As an adult, my kids have included a border collie who passed at 17, a beagle mix who passed at 16, and a cat who passed at 16. All of whom were with me since babyhood. I currently have two four-year-olds: a border collie and a lab/great pyrenees. I don't know that I deserve all of the love these kids have given me. I work remotely, full-time, but it slows down for several months after the holidays. Between January and May, I have a fair amount of downtime. I would love to fill this time helping to keep the pet population happy and engaged. I know we all have different ideas of how pets should be cared for; however, I am a bit of a spoiler. My pets are some of the most important living creatures in my life, and I would assume you feel the same about yours.
“Nicole is AMAZING! My pup has so much anxiety and I was nervous leaving her. Nicole was amazing with her and went above and beyond. She took away any worries I had! Definitely book with Nicole if you want your pup to have the best experience while you are away!”

About: I've been taking care of various specifies of animals throughout my life from energetic dogs and skittish cats, to pampered rodents, and fascinating arthopods. I am looking for other work positions aswell at the moment and will update my schedule when that happens but I'm basically free whenever as long as I have a heads up ahead of time I have a smallish-medium completely fenced yard with a doggy door, four super chill cats and two 9 month old puppies at my house. One of the puppies is a little loud and skittish but completely harmless and will usually stay completely separate if he can't chill out (he literally just screams but isn't aggressive). I can stay overnights at the owners home and will provide my own food for myself, I do not require a guess room and can sleep on the couch just fine.
About: I’ve had and cared for animals my entire life. I’ve also worked at pet stores and humane societies. There is no better way to spend your time than being surrounded by animals. Let me know what your needs are and we’ll work together to make sure that your babies are taken care of when you can’t be home with them. I will always show the utmost respect to your pet and your home. This includes cleaning up after myself and your pet during our time together, removing my shoes before entering your home if you would like, and anything else that will make you comfortable with the arrangement.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Geronimo
Kristie was wonderful!! I’m so happy we found her. She was very sweet to the dogs had patience with our older dog and even gave free belly rubs to our little dog. She was good at communicating with us and sending pictures even of our shy kitty who mostly stayed under the bed. I highly recommend Kristie if you’re looking for a reliable and kind sitter for your fur babies 😊

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
