“Elizabeth was great as always! We had a last second trip come up over a holiday weekend, super thankful she was available in such short notice. Will definitely book her again!”

“This is our first time trying Rover, after being very disappointed by multiple dog kennel services. My dog is not animal friendly, but otherwise very social with people and has anxiety when away from home for too long. The choice was very easy when Gabrielle came up on the search options. She is a fantastic caretaker, follows instructions to a T, and Cherry and her bonded quickly. We can’t wait to start traveling more now that we have a trusted guardian for Cherry.”

“Madeline has taken care of my kitties a couple times now. My cats look forward to seeing her and she always goes the extra mile to tidy up, take pictures, and play with them! I never have to worry when they’re with her!”

“Had a family emergency and had make a quick trip and was so glad Taylor had the availability to come with a less than 24 hr notice. They did everything I asked for and more like water my plants and cleaned any messes Asher made.”

“Janie was worlds best dog sitter!! We will be recommending her to all of our friends. She made sure our dog was loved and taken care of while we were gone. He has separation anxiety anytime we leave town but it was clear he really enjoyed spending time with her. She was amazing about sending pictures and summaries of her visit. We'll definitely be using her again!!”

“New to Montrose and had to find a good sitter that I trust with my furry family as well as being in my home when I'm away. I hit the jackpot, Brooke & Steven are great. They not only take care of my kitty's, they water plants, water the garden and pick up mail. They are my go to always.”
“No doubt about it, I’d pick Kaitlyn to catsit again in a heartbeat. I am so beyond thankful for all of Kaitlyn’s patience, kindness, warmth, and compassion. She bonded with both our cats right off the bat. Our shy male cat warmed up to her very quickly. The anxious girl kitty took a bit longer to come around, but Kaitlyn made sure to go at the pace of the kitty in question. She was able to medicate our male cat, and made sure they both felt loved and cared for while we were away for an extended period of time. She communicated as soon as anything came up, and was very flexible! It was such a relief knowing our cats were in such thoughtful & capable hands for the holidays. My girlfriend and I could not recommend her more highly! 🩵”

About: I've taken care of dogs since I was a teeneager and have been a pet parent for just as many years. I currently have two boston terriers of my own, Cooper and Chloe. I'm semi retired and have lots of availability. i love dogs of all kinds and it gives me great pleasure to interact with and care for dogs. I will feed, walk, play with your dogs and administer any necessary medication. I'm retired so I can work around any schedule you need me to.
“Alexandria was such an amazing help during the holidays. I requested her for a last minute sit and she was eager and willing to come sit my furry babies. It was my first time using a sitter who I didn’t know, and she eased my nervousness with daily pictures and feedback of the animals. Highly recommended!”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better pet sitter! From the moment we met, we felt completely comfortable leaving our sweet girl in their care. They treated her like family, sent regular updates and photos, and went above and beyond to make sure she felt safe and loved. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing she was in such caring hands. We will absolutely be using them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable, trustworthy pet care!”

About: I have had both of my dogs since they were puppies, Jamie (10 yrs old) & Peach (5 yrs old), and my cat since she was a kitten, Latte (3 yrs old). I have helped take care of family pets, neighbors pets (including turtles), and have helped care for animals in wildlife rehab. I love all animals and love providing them with the best care! I work full time, so I am able to provide care to pets before & after work. My hours are somewhat flexible, so I can make sure that I am spending enough time caring for your pet without it being too early or too late. I am familiar with crating and free roaming dogs; my older dog is crated when I am out of the house since he is prone to accidents, while my other dog is free-roaming. Different dogs require different care! I love letting my dogs run free in the yard to play and potty, but when it is wet or muddy, I will walk my dogs to make sure they can get their outside time without getting dirty.

“Madilynn did a great job taking care of our two cats! We had an unexpected emergency and Madilynn was able to update us daily with notes and pictures of how our cats were doing. We highly recommend her!”

“So glad Stephanie was available to care for our animals while we traveled. She was amazing, she went above and beyond to make sure our animals were taken care of. She was punctual and provided great feedback and photos that put us at ease while we were away. Would recommend her to anyone, and will be rebooking with her for our future needs! Thank you so much!”
About: I grew up with two beagles from the time I was three to twenty-one. Now, I have two adorable cats named Flip and Frankie! Friends and family have relied on me to take care of their furry friends while they are away. I work remotely, so I am able for occasional check-ins, as well as early morning/late evening walks. I'm available to dog/cat sit in your home, and depending on the pet, can take out to play and walk. I have been an animal lover my whole life, so I take great responsibility in caring for other people's fur babies, as well as my own.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
