“Carolina was great! She stopped in morning and night to feed, give water, and play with our Australian shepherd for a few nights. Luna had so much fun with her and was still a happy girl when we got home. She sent lots of pictures and videos and asked clarifying questions to make sure everything was as it should be! I would book her again for her awesome help”

“Elizabeth is great. She went above and beyond. Bud likes her and she doesn’t just do tasks, she gives him love and attention (and catnip!). This is our second time having Elizabeth care for Bud and we are thrilled to have someone close by who is reliable and thorough. Getting the pictures from their visits makes me miss him a little less when we’re away.”

“Tina was absolutely amazing! I had to leave for a few days and she responded so quickly to the request, followed by a meet and greet, and then constant communication throughout the days I was away. She took loving care of my senior kitty (18 years old), which required giving daily medications and cleaning up messes since my elderly baby has trouble with incontinence. Extremely friendly and personable. I highly recommend her to anyone. She put my mind to ease as I was very worried about my girl while away.”

“If I could give a 1000 stars I would!!! Torie was absolutely a gem. It was last minute and she truly is Mrs Dolittle. Willow our dachshund had such an amazing time. And went right to Torie i know he felt loved because, the pictures really tell a story. Thank you soo much Torie for loving him the way we do. We will be forever thankful to you. Love Willow and his family.”

“Mary Glenn was awesome taking care of our kitty! She was so communicative and sent the best pictures everyday. She gave us a very worry free vacation and we will definitely be booking again!!”

“Doreen was an amazing sitter for Sadie! She updated me with a lot of pictures, videos, and description of her visit every day. She is very communicative and it’s obvious she loves animals. I’m so happy to have met her and completely trust her taking care of Sadie. 😊”

“Kirsten was fantastic, she did a pre-visit check beforehand and visited our cat early each morning. She sent updates and photos, and let our cat outside to play, just like she’s used to. We would recommend Kirsten and would definitely book her again.”

About: I have been pet sitting for 8 years, but have been a lover of animals my whole life. I have cared for all sorts of animals, from dogs and cats, to rabbits, turtles, goats, and birds. I give every animal the attention they deserve and I treat each animal as if they were my own. I am trustworthy, kind, punctual, and dedicated to the welfare of all animals in my care. I do house sitting, dog walking, in home care, and boarding. I can care for animals that need medications. I have experience working with puppies and house training. I take the care of animals very seriously and will do everything I can to make them comfortable while you are away from them. I will be their friend when your away and their home away from home. I am currently unemployed and a stay at home dad for my daughter and son. My daughter is in school. Both of them love animals. I have open availability to take care of your fur babies. About: There’s always been a dog in my house ever since I was born. Sparky, Bobo, Patrick, and now my Delilah. I’m a big fan of every kind of dog and love meeting new ones! I’m usually home all day, helping my mother take care of my grandmother. I have plenty of time to pop out and drop in on your dog! I’m capable of letting your dog out, either in a fenced yard or on a leash. As well as feed and make sure their water bowl is full!
About: I have been house sitting overnight since I was 14. I have experience working with dogs, cats, mice, and flying squirrels. Believe it or not, I have taken care of dogs who were indoor-trained only.I am also an experienced dog walker- not just with my own dogs but with friends' dogs that I've loved as my own. **serious inquiries only** please do not send me a booking request if you're going to ghost me after I respond or if you plan to book with another sitter. You'd be surprised by how often this happens. I abide by the safety precautions at the homes I stay at (fences, ring cameras, etc). When I stay with indoor cats, I take extra precautions when leaving the house to make sure the cats don't escape.
“Melissa was amazing and took excellent care of our three babies while we were gone for three weeks! We have one very shy boy who normally hides when there are new people around but he loved her visits, coming up to her for treats! That tells me all I need to know about Melissa and the love she gave them while we were gone. Thank you so much Melissa! ❤️”

She was so great with our cat- she really took lots of time with him and made him feel comfortable and loved while we were gone. Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
