“Alexis has been wonderful every time we’ve booked with her. She is tender with our animals and pays attention to them every second she’s there. She always reassures us of our doggies and goes above and beyond. We are grateful for her!”

About: I have been around dogs and cats for most of my life. Growing up in China, my family regularly had pets at home, so feeding, walking, playing with, and caring for animals has always been a natural and familiar part of my life. After retiring as the CEO of a well-established pharmaceutical company in China, my wife and I moved to the United States and began a new chapter of our lives here. Since then, I have enjoyed becoming more involved in our local community. I volunteer every week at my church’s food pantry, where we help people in need, and helping and caring for others has always been very meaningful to me. I am comfortable providing both dog walking and in-home pet care for dogs and cats. This can include walks, feeding, fresh water, playtime, companionship, litter box care, and following each pet’s normal daily routine. I understand that every pet has a different personality, energy level, and comfort level, and I believe patience, consistency, and attention are very important. What sets me apart is the amount of time, care, and responsibility I can give each pet. I am retired, so I have a very flexible schedule and do not need to rush through walks or visits. I also exercise regularly and stay active, so I am comfortable with walks, outdoor time, playtime, and keeping energetic dogs engaged. Since moving to the United States, my wife and I have not had pets of our own, so I especially enjoy the opportunity to spend time with dogs and cats again while helping their families. I take the trust that pet owners place in me very seriously and will always treat each pet with patience, kindness, and respect. I am retired, so pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine. I do not have a fixed work schedule, which gives me a great deal of flexibility for walks, drop-in visits, feeding, playtime, and companionship throughout the week. I enjoy staying active and spending time with animals, so caring for pets is something I genuinely look forward to rather than something I need to fit around a busy job. I am often available during weekdays as well as weekends, and I can usually be flexible with morning, afternoon, or evening visits depending on your pet’s routine. Because my schedule is flexible, I can give each pet attentive, unhurried care and do my best to keep their normal routine consistent while their owner is away. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I believe safety, trust, and respect come first. I will carefully follow your instructions and do my best to keep your pet’s normal routine consistent, including feeding, fresh water, walks, playtime, litter box care, and companionship. I am very careful with doors, gates, leashes, collars, and harnesses to help prevent pets from getting loose. Before every walk, I will make sure everything is secure, and I will stay attentive to your pet, other animals, traffic, weather, and the surrounding environment. I also understand that you are trusting me not only with your pet, but with your home. I will always treat your home respectfully, keep pet-related areas clean and tidy, and follow any household instructions you provide. Every pet is different, so I will take time to understand their personality, routine, comfort level, and any special needs. If I am ever unsure about an instruction or notice something unusual, I will contact you rather than make assumptions. I am happy to send photos and updates during or after each visit so you can feel comfortable knowing your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for.

About: Hi! My name is Chris and I’m a registered nurse in the Emergency Room and a lifelong animal lover with a passion for providing compassionate, dependable care for pets of all kinds. I have three cats of my own, including one with asthma who requires daily inhaled medication, so I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust with your pets, especially when they have special needs. As a nurse, I’m attentive to detail, patient, and comfortable following routines and medication instructions. I know every pet has their own personality, and I always take the time to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. Whether your dog needs a walk, your cat needs some extra attention, or you’re traveling and need someone to check in on your pets, I’d love to help! I’m happy to provide feeding, fresh water, litter box cleaning, walks, playtime, and medication assistance when appropriate. I understand how stressful it can be leaving your pets in someone else’s care, which is why I prioritize communication, reliability, and regular photo updates. My goal is to give you peace of mind knowing your pets are receiving the same love and attention I’d give my own! I work as a registered nurse on a three-day, 12-hour shift schedule, which gives me several days off each week to dedicate to pet care! On my days off, I have plenty of flexibility for dog walks, drop-in visits, feeding, playtime, and spending quality time with your pets. I also have experience balancing my work schedule with caring for my three cats at home, so I understand the importance of maintaining consistent routines. My work schedule varies throughout the week, but I keep my availability updated to ensure I can give every pet the time and attention they deserve. I’m happy to accommodate morning, afternoon, and evening visits when available, and I’ll always communicate clearly about scheduling to make sure your pet receives reliable care! Your pet’s safety, comfort, and well-being are always my top priorities! As a nurse, I understand the importance of being attentive, dependable, and recognizing when something isn’t right. I bring that same level of care and responsibility to looking after animals. As a pet owner myself, I know how important it is to trust someone caring for your pets and entering your home. I always follow each owner’s instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, medication routines, exercise needs, and any special accommodations. I have personal experience caring for a cat with asthma who requires daily inhaled medication, so I understand the extra attention pets with medical needs may require. During walks and drop-in visits, I prioritize secure doors and gates, proper leash use, safe surroundings, and keeping pets comfortable in their familiar environment. I always clean up and properly dispose of pet waste during walks to keep neighborhoods clean and enjoyable for everyone. I respect every pet’s boundaries and take the time to build trust, especially with animals who may be shy or anxious. I’ll also provide regular updates and photos so you can feel confident that your pets are happy, safe, and receiving the attention they deserve while you’re away!
“We are so thankful for Billie Jo. Our first time away in a very long time so we were nervous about finding care for our cat Moo. She took wonderful care of her while we were away and kept us updated with photos and details. Billie Jo is so sweet and caring to all of us as a family. We are so happy to have her close by. Thank you so much! ❤️”
About: I have spent the last 15 years taking care of friends and family cats and dogs, I also have 2 years of experience working with animals in a professional setting. I currently have a flexible work from home job, so my availability right now is pretty open to suit your needs! I do request at least 2 days notice prior to taking on a job. I currently have a fenced in yard, which will make caring for your pet in my home super easy and stimulating. I am able to watch pets at your home as well, if that is what you are most comfortable with.
About: I’ve been around almost every kind of dog in my life, from little small wiener dogs to Great Danes and pits. I enjoy dogs with a passion, I truly love their loyalty towards their owner. No matter how hard your day is once you come home it’s the best greeting you’ll ever get. Can’t say that about to many things nor people now can you. So I’m getting ready to head to the airforce very soon and I need to find a way to have money coming in before I leave. I thought what’s the best way to do that and the first thing that came to mind was my dogs. So I want to provide others with a solid person to trust around their loved ones no matter what. So i got a small morkie mix as the little brother and an American bully for the big brother. We establish walks,food,water is given 24/7,treats when a task or a good dog is listening. The most important of all, attention and love.

About: I've had a cat in my life since the day I was born, my parents still own the one we got when I was 13 (he's now 19 and going strong). I also walked a neighbour's dog from 12 to 21 (a lhasa apso) and have experience walking other dogs in a range of sizes, from papillon up to a 100+lb show golden retriever. Currently living the housewife life so schedule is flexible as heck. My own animals have a flexible feeding schedule in that they don't like food to be late, but if it's early they are thrilled. If your dog is crate trained, I'm willing and able to continue that as needed. Open to whatever walk length is needed for the pet in caring for. Willing to walk cats too if your kitty is leash trained (one of mine is and loves his outside time).
“Misty did a great job!! Our cats were well taken care of, litter boxes scooped and she kept in touch during each visit. Highly recommend and we will definitely request her again!”

About: I’ve taken care of animals such as fish, cats, dogs birds and even a turtle in the backyard for a while before! I love to work with animals once we know each other and be a new friend to them and relate my experiences with them and learn new ones I work remote so any of these options work as long as you have reliable internet and Wi-Fi connections at your place. That is a total necessity. I do not have pets where I live. I do not have the room. Most animals do best in their own environment they are familiar with in my experiences.
About: I have done rescue work for dogs. I actually have two dogs of my own one. I saved from the Humane Society and one I saved for a rescue who is going to be put to sleep for no reason. I am currently not working so I would be home all of the time with them. They would get all the attention in the world. We have a a fenced in backyard that they would be able to run around in and the cats would be kept inside and fed. What food daily if you please. I have a fenced in backyard and two very very friendly dogs who love new friends. Your dog would be very loved and taken care of. I also have four cats who love to have new friends in they would be very loved and taken care of and would not be let outside at all
About: I grew up on a farm with pretty much every animal you can think of, including some exotics. I’ve spent many years raising my own animals (cats, dogs,rabbits, snakes, horses, etc) and have also done the same helping out with our friends and family’s pets. I love animals and honestly wish I could bring them all home but I can’t, so this is the next best thing! I can walk your pet on a leash and crate them when needed. I also have 1 friendly dog and 4 friendly kids to keep your fur baby company! If they need a bath I can also do that too! They will be fed, watered and spoiled rotten! I currently work for a job that I can work both in office and remote so my schedule is pretty flexible and can be open to accommodate anyone’s needs. We always maintain water, keep on their feed schedule as well as any grooming schedules they may have. Lots of play time inside and outside.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks.
