My dogs were happy to meet Miss Omi. She was super kind and communicates a lot, which made me feel at ease leaving my pups in her care. Archie is a barker, but she didn’t seem to mind that he has nervous energy and worked to get him comfortable with her. Will book again!

Lori has been just what I needed for my dog. My dog deals with separation anxiety when I’m out of the house for more than 5 hours. Now when I come home from golf, my dog is in a cheerful, playful mood. I thank Rover with connecting me with Lori and I thank Lori for being an awesome companion to my dog while I’m out of the house!

About: I have always loved dogs and cats and always love being around them so I would love the opportunity to make you and your animals happy. Pet care is already a big part of my daily routine. I care for my 14-year-old dog and two cats every day, which includes feeding, fresh water, exercise, litter box maintenance, grooming when needed, and making sure they are comfortable and happy. Caring for senior pets has also taught me the importance of patience, consistency, and paying attention to changes in behavior or health. Because pet care is already a regular part of my life, I am comfortable incorporating additional pets into my schedule and providing them with reliable, attentive care. 🐾 Whether caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home, I focus on keeping their routine as consistent as possible to help them feel comfortable and secure. I provide fresh food and water, potty breaks or litter box cleaning, exercise, playtime, and plenty of attention based on each pet’s needs and personality. I carefully follow any instructions regarding feeding schedules, medications, or special care requirements. I also make sure pets have a safe, clean environment and keep owners updated with messages and photos so they can feel confident their pets are being well cared for while they’re away. 🐾💕

We can't recommend Joanna highly enough! She took wonderful care of Dee Dee and Callie, and her help was an incredible relief for our entire family. Joanna was always punctual, personable, efficient, and friendly. She was not only wonderful with our dogs, but also kind, patient, and thoughtful with my elderly father, which meant so much to us. Knowing our girls were in such caring and capable hands gave us tremendous peace of mind. If you're looking for someone who is dependable, compassionate, and truly goes above and beyond, Joanna is the person to call. We are so grateful for her help and would recommend her without hesitation!

About: UPDATE: I loved my past dog sittings, however I took time off to be a caregiver for my husband and then my dad. My best boy Oreo recently crossed the Rainbow Bridge and I am ready to shower that love on your furry loved ones. I love all animals and have a fondness for dogs of any type. I have had various size dogs all my life. I have been involved with animal rescue organizations, as well as fostered many dogs. My current dog was a foster that I ended up adopting. I am retired and available to take care of your fur babies in your home! I love playing, snuggling, and walking with them. Your fur babies will get plenty of attention and I will provide pictures while you are away. It will be my honor to take care of your cherished family member and ensure they are happy. Since I am retired my schedule is flexible. I am available to care for your fur baby and take care of your home, as needed. I will follow all guidelines you provide in caring for your fur baby at home. Snuggling on the sofa or giving them space is ok.

About: I’ve personally owned dogs, cats, exotic reptiles, birds, and small mammals, with experience caring for pets ranging from kittens to elderly dogs. I love my dog and cats like they’re my own children, and they mean the world to me. My love for animals led me to volunteer at an exotic animal rescue and work professionally as a Lab Manager, caring for a wide variety of animals. I’ll treat your pets with the same care, patience, and love I give my own. I am compassionate, attentive, and committed to making every pet feel safe, happy, and loved. I’m hoping to fill my late mornings, afternoons, and early evenings with caring for pets and helping families with whatever pet-care services they may need. I would prefer the pet / animal to be as comfortable as possible with little to no stress. So familiar environments for them is an important factor to consider.

Mary Catherine was lovely! She communicated well, and showed up on time and prepared. She asked all the right questions before walking my rescue dog Bella. She took her time getting to know Bella before going on their first walk and was very gentle and comforting to her. I would highly recommend her!

Holly was on time and extremely responsive. I was in a bind and needed someone next day to let Nash out in the evening and in the morning. She responded within 5min of me reaching out and we scheduled a meet and greet 1st thing in the morning and she was on time and extremely professional. On both days she was on time and walked him as expected and communicated updates and pictures. Really put my mind at ease while I was out of town

About: Hi! I am a college student looking for opportunities to earn some money while doing what I enjoy most-hanging out with animals! I have sat for family, friends, and anyone else who needs help, and would love to be trusted enough to walk/sit/watch your dog. Being a student creates lots of flexibility, specifically mid afternoon to night! I also can do early mornings and weekends if they are planned ahead. Respecting animals space and reading body language is incredibly important when going into their home and walking them! Understanding what they are comfortable with and creating a safe environment is top priority. Lots of treats are required lol!

Jennifer was also so kind to make last minute arrangements for Lacey to stay with her parents when we had to head out of town. She’s a marvel, she is trustworthy- & comes & goes from our home when we are not here. Jennifer gets 10 star rating!

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Fruitland Park. On Rover:

  • 94% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
