About: This is a quiet home on 5 wooded acres located near Classic Road. I have a fully fenced paddock for potty breaks, playtime and sniffing. I have a labrador of my own so there is a playmate for my guest dogs. I treat your dog like I treat mine- so basically they are spoiled! I work from home and make my own schedule which allows me to accommodate a variety of doggie needs. They are my priority and my passion. Drop offs and pick ups should fall between the hours of 8am and 6:45pm I'm able to care for senior dogs as well as those who have not been altered and are used for breeding purposes. Special needs OK. I avoid dogs on the dangerous breed list for insurance reasons.
About: I’ve had dogs and cats most of my life, and during Covid—when I was working from home rather than at UW—I became a foster dog mom, which I loved. I retired in January and now happily spend much of my time in my art studio. Alas, there are no pets in my life at the moment, so I’d love the chance to be with yours! I especially enjoy the companionship of animals and the ordinary, unhurried time that comes with caring for them—walks, play, hanging out, and simply being together. Being retired means I have something that can be hard to find: time without a rush. I’m a homeowner with a flexible schedule, and I can give a pet my attention rather than squeezing their care into the edges of a busy day. I’m not a full-time sitter, and I don’t administer medications, but I’m happy to provide attentive, dependable care and plenty of affection. I’m also hoping to make pet sitting part of my longer-term adventures—spending time with wonderful animals on South Whidbey or the San Juan Islands, and eventually pet sitting in interesting places abroad. It seems like a pretty lovely way to travel: get to know a place through the eyes of a local pet, and have a furry companion along the way. For now, I’d be very happy to borrow yours. I’m retired from the UW in January and am working in my art studio, walking the beach or working out at the gym with a very flexible schedule. So there’s no fixed routine, which I love. About: I have worked with shelter dogs for about six years and I have had quite a bit of training on dog behavior, handling, and socializing. My past shelter job required me to become SAFER certified in order to do behavior assessments on dogs coming in. I have worked with hundreds of dogs with a wide variety of behavior issues. As the dog care lead for my last shelter I oversaw the care of up to 120 dogs at a time. Part of the dogs care included medicating, I am familiar with many common health issues and medications and am comfortable administering all forms of medications. I have one small dog of my own, a neutered male that likes other dogs. Right now I am only looking for like sized dogs male or female (20 pounds and under) or very calm bigger dogs to babysit. I live on a small dahlia farm - about two acres, unfenced. Dogs are allowed on the furniture and in bed but you can provide their bedding if you think they’d prefer it. While our house is being built we live in a 2 bedroom “mother in law”. It is small so not ideal for active bigger dogs right now. I only sit one dog at a time, unless the dogs come from the same household or they are known friends and okayed by both families. I have a small dahlia farm so I work from home! I have free range chickens and one senior dog. My typical day revolves around taking care of the animals and flowers. Right now our yard isn’t fenced but it’s a summer goal! I take the dogs for a walk in the morning and then out for potty breaks every couple hours after that.
