“Sonja is terrific! My kitties loved her from the moment she came in. When I got home, my kitties were calm, had full bellies, potties were clean, all was in order. I couldn't be happier with the care Sonja provided, I 100% recommend her.”

About: I’ve had my own dog for a number of years as a young child/preteen that I cared for and trained, with my mom and then on my own mostly. I also have watched pets for friends and family, one example being my boyfriends family who houses 4 dogs and a bird. I have abided to their preferred schedules, adhering to going on walks, feeding and letting pets out, staying on playtime and bed time schedules, and I have my own personal experience with having to give dogs medication and dealing with female dogs in heat. I do not have any pets of my own so I love to care for others and help out when needed. I tend to help out mostly on weekends when families go out of town but my work schedule has become more flexible and I am home majority of the time. As of now I only take pets in my home. I have lots of down time, so I am able to be attentive and around for whatever your pet needs. I live in a townhome so I don’t have my own yard but there is plenty of grass and space through my neighborhood to walk and play. I usually let the dog roam around my home just to explore and get comfortable. I designate a spot for their food and water and I am able to take dogs out for pee breaks whenever, depending on your dog’s schedule. I like to stay interactive and keep pets entertained, whether that’s going on a long walk, playing with toys, giving treats, or just relaxing by their side. I have also sent photos periodically and updated my clients in the past so they know Im available if they had any questions, and that their pet is in great hands. I allow pets on the furniture so if they have a habit of jumping on the bed or couch it’s not a big deal. My mom also lives in the home but she is out mostly for work, and also has vast experience of animal care. It is also a smoke free household

“Excellent communication, went above and beyond what was requested, and adjusted easily when a change in my trip required an additional visit. Highly recommend and would absolutely work with again!”

“Alexis is amazing! My cat is normally very shy but he warmed up to her right away. Can’t say enough good things. She communicated with me very well, took great care of my cat, and my cat is now in love. I will definitely use her again!”

“Marissa came in and immediately treated our dogs as if they were her own. Taking the time for belly rubs and sitting out in the sun. She was absolutely amazing and saved the day with a last minute booking. Thank you so much for taking care of our fur babies while we were away!”

“I can’t say enough about how exceptional Chris is as a dog walker and caretaker! I have seven Chihuahuas who tend to be quite timid around new people, but Chris’s calm, patient approach put them at ease right away. I was so surprised. His dedication to making them feel comfortable was evident. In fact, they warmed up to him faster than I’ve ever seen before with anyone else. Chris is reliable, friendly, and has a special gift for connecting with animals. I highly recommend him to anyone in need of a true dog lover who genuinely cares about the animals he works with. My dogs are in great hands, and I am so grateful for his wonderful care!”

About: I have had pets my entire life and have pet sit for friends and neighbors with a variety of animals. I am comfortable with dogs of all sizes and am used to taking care of large dogs and puppies. I have a senior cat of my own so I understand the extra care older animals need. I can administer medication and don’t mind “odd” requests for the sake of our fur babies! I work part time and often have free time during the day to walk or check on a pet. I also don’t mind waking up early for morning feeds or potty breaks. I strive to provide a calm presence for animals, especially more skittish or shy ones. I will reinforce any training you are working on with your pet and can crate your dog if needed. No request is too big when it comes to the safety of your pets.

About: I’ve taken care of pets since I was 16. From neighbors to friends, I love taking care of animals and giving them what they need. I am currently unemployed so I can check in multiple times a day throughout the week. I do prefer mornings and evenings instead of nights I prefer taking care of pets in my client’s home. I will follow the instructions my client provides for how their pet needs to be treated.

About: Although sitters on Rover have great experience and amazing skills I believe what sets me apart is my attention to detail! I have cared for all different types of dogs within this past decade, From pups, to teen doggos to seniors. Dogs with big personalities and very shy ones too! It’s important to understand the dog you’re working with not only for their long term benefit but even helping them thrive in every day short term tasks I work from home most days and am able to flex so I can fit a walk in pretty much anywhere given the week, just ask! I start by asking pet parents about any routines and discomforts the doggo might have then adjust my care according to those needs! All dogs are different care is not one size fix all.

About: I am comfortable taking care of dogs of any age, especially senior dogs. I have experience dog walking, and I walk shelter dogs through the SPCA. I am a student home for the summer, so I have plenty of time for your pet's care! I am available morning, afternoon, and evening. If you have a dog with high energy needs, I am the perfect fit for long walks or even runs! I have very open availability, so I can visit multiple times per day if needed.

“Mary B. was an awesome sitter for Dodger. Dodger is typically a very shy cat and he really loved her. She even stayed a little extra when my kitty threw up on the carpet. She did an awesome job while I was out of the country and was very respectful of my home. She also sent me beautiful photos and videos of him which were wonderful to view while I was away. I would recommend Mary as a pet sitter to anyone with a cat.”

About: For the past five years, I’ve helped care for my grandpa’s hunting dogs every day—feeding them, exercising them, and making sure they stay healthy and well-behaved. I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty, either—I’ve cleaned up plenty of messes along the way! I’ve worked with dogs of all ages and sizes, and I have hands-on experience with leash training and improving walking habits. I’m patient, calm, and good at reading animal behavior. While I’m not a certified dog trainer, I’m confident in my ability to teach basic commands using positive reinforcement—especially treats—because I’ve successfully trained my own dogs. Whether I’m caring for a high-energy pup or a shy dog who needs a little extra time to feel safe, I always do my best to make sure every pet feels comfortable, respected, and well-loved. I’m currently in college, which gives me a very flexible schedule. I’m available for early mornings, late nights, weekends, and can work around varying times throughout the day. I follow all care instructions closely and always make safety a priority. I check collars, gates, and doors before walks and avoid unsafe situations. Your pet and home will always be treated with respect, and I’ll keep you updated every step of the way.

About: Currently in school full-time to be a Radiology Tech, not currently a dog owner, but I am waiting for the right time and dog to adopt and give a forever home! I have worked with dogs of all types and sizes and have experience with puppies, senior dogs, and deaf dogs and love all of them the same! I love big dogs, but have had many different types thanks to my mothers passion for taking in animals many people did not want. Have volunteered at the SPCA and have taken their dog handling course. I am married and my husband loves dogs. We live in the downtown Fredericksburg area and have a fenced in backyard. I will ensure your dog is well looked after. The school I am enrolled in is within walking distance to my home so I can do midday check-ins. My husband is great with pets and is home in the afternoon as well. I have a fenced yard to help keep your pet safe. I live in a one story home with minimal stairs for senior dogs and have my own dog bowls, bed, and a crate if needed.

“Awesome experience! April was amazing with my large German shepherd that can be a bit intimidating. She was attentive and genuinely cared for him, unlike most sitters whom just let him out into the backyard and stay at the door. She played with him and made it a priority to form a bond with him. Thank you April!! Definitely using again in the future.”

You can tell right away how much he loves animals he connected with them instantly and treated them like his own. What really impressed me was the level of care and attention he gave them, making sure they were not only well-fed and safe but also happy and loved the entire time. Cory even took the time to teach my puppy a few new tricks while I was away, which completely blew me away!
