About: I have been fostering dogs for 15 years now, and have 5 years of pet sitting experience. I have worked with high and low energy dogs, as well as dogs with disabilities such as seizures and diabetes. I love all animals and am committed to making your pets time away from you as comfortable as possible! Last Minute Fee (<24hrs): $10 I currently work part-time, but only during the evenings, so I am available for a majority of the day to care for pet needs. I am a somewhat early riser and also know of the unnecessary stress put on an animal when their daily routines are disrupted, so I am adaptable when it comes to dogs with stricter schedules. I am only providing drop-in services as I have two dogs of my own. I am comfortable walking dogs of all sizes and with issues of pulling and leash aggression. I work to maintain a clean environment for the animal as well as keeping them entertained and healthy.

Kayla is very timely with walking our dog and thorough with her responsibilities. And I bet if our pooch could do it, he’d give Kayla two paws up. I recommend her.

About: I grew up on a farm and so I have been taking care of a variety of animals since I was a child. I’ve had many dogs and cats as well as other farm animals so I have a wide range of experiences. I am capable of both infant and senior animal care if needed as well. I am currently a student and working part time but I have lots of time before and after my classes and work to care for animals, I have a car and live close to the town center of Boone. I have my own cat who I take care of but I love to spend time with any animal I care for making sure they get enough socialization in addition to any feeding or cleaning they might need.

About: I have two family dogs of my own ages 8 and 7. Beyond caring for these two, I have walked a golden retriever occasionally for a while and assisted with neighbor care of other dogs. I am currently a full time employee, but beyond my work I am more than happy to come play and walk your fur baby! While I work a traditional 8-5, I am happy to come by on my lunch break and after work. I am happy to bring your dog around town for a good walk. I am also happy to just walk them in your neighborhood and play with your dog for extended time depending on the day of the week.

About: I have had pets all of my life so they are no stranger to me, and I have taken care of my neighbors pets for the past years. I am a division 1 runner at Appalachian state university for the cross country and track team. So I would say I’m pretty accountable. I am currently not working any other jobs so pet care fits very easily into my schedule and routine throughout the day and weeks for me. I have fenced in yard, and for exercise and for walks my pet is always on a leash when I take him for walks in the neighborhood.

I am retired and have plenty of time when not playing with our own two dogs and exercising. They are the center of our lives. We have a fenced in back yard for our dogs. Since I am retired, and my wife works part time, I spend most of my time with our dogs. We will not bring client’s pets to our home nor will my wife be a caretaker.

About: I’ve been very passionate about pet sitting since I was 14, caring for every type of pet from tiny fish to large dogs of all breeds and ages. Whether it’s keeping a senior dog comfortable, playing with an energetic kitten, or tending to a full fish tank, I love giving each pet the care and attention they need to feel safe and loved while their owners are away. Caring for my dog named Millie has made pet care an everyday part of my routine. From morning walks to playtime and feeding, I’ve learned how to keep a pet happy and healthy, and I bring that same love and attention to every pet I care for. At my home, I provide a safe, comfortable space for pets with a consistent routine of play, exercise, and meals while also ensuring that my dog and the dog I care for are comfortable together. For pet sitting in clients homes, I stick to their pets’ usual routines, offering the same care and attention to ensure they feel loved and secure while their owners are away.

About: I’ve always had a love for animals and understand that every pet has their own personality and routine. I take the time to get to know each pet so they feel comfortable, safe, and cared for while you’re away. Whether it’s playtime, walks, cuddles, or simply keeping them company, I treat every pet like they’re my own. My goal is to give you peace of mind knowing your furry family member is in loving, reliable hands. As a college student, I don’t have the time to have a pet of my own right now, so pet sitting is the perfect way for me to spend time with animals while helping other pet owners. I genuinely enjoy caring for pets, whether that means going on walks, playing, or simply keeping them company. Pet care fits well into my schedule, and I love being able to give pets the attention and care they deserve while their owners are away. I primarily provide care in my clients’ homes because I believe pets are happiest and most comfortable in their familiar environment. I follow each pet’s normal routine, including feeding, walks, playtime, medication (if needed), and lots of love and attention. I also make sure their home stays clean and secure while they’re away. If I care for a pet in my own home, I’ll provide a safe, calm, and pet-friendly environment where they receive plenty of supervision, exercise, and affection.

About: As a lifelong animal lover and proud owner of two Australian Shepherd mixes, I have years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all breeds, sizes, and personalities. I’ve been trusted with pet care from a young age and truly enjoy building relationships with the pets I care for. My experience ranges from energetic puppies to senior dogs who need a little extra patience and attention, and I’m comfortable caring for multiple dogs at once. I offer dependable overnight care, so you can travel or rest easy knowing your pet is safe, comfortable, and well-loved in a familiar environment. I treat every dog as if they were my own. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine alongside my full-time job. I’m able to provide dependable overnight care, as well as morning and evening walks, feedings, and plenty of attention outside of work hours. Depending on location and scheduling, I may also be available for midday walks. I’m thoughtful about communication and planning, so your pet’s needs are always met and you can feel confident they’re well cared for. When caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home, I treat both the space and the pet with the same care and respect I would want for my own. I understand how important it is to trust someone with not only your pet, but your home as well. I’m mindful of routines, house rules, and any specific instructions you leave, and I make sure everything is followed closely. I’m always respectful of personal spaces and leave your home just as I found it. My goal is for your pet to feel safe, comfortable, and loved — and for you to feel completely at ease while you’re away.

I highly recommend Emerson. She walked my one-year-old Golden Retriever Jackson 3x a day for a week. When she came for her initial visit, I could immediately tell she was an animal lover and would treat Jackson as if he were her own dog. I also instantly saw how comfortable and confident she was walking a larger, energetic puppy – she had complete control. Throughout the week, she was incredibly prompt, professional and reliable. She gave regular, detailed and fun updates throughout the week. I could not recommend her more highly.

  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
